Really good advice, if you replace the investment with something that appreciates just as much or more then sell, if not, keep, no point in selling if you're loosing long term unless you need the cash now!

Well they were $97k MSRP so if he paid $120k maybe 7-10 yrs ago it’s very possible! You have to realize 7-8 yrs ago I saw a Rainbow in the window . 5-6 years ago I’d walk in see a John Mayer YG green daytona and a platinum daytona in the window and walk in and buy a black sub 116610LN and the AD begged me for a hour to take the Hulk at discount !
You could pick up those kind of watches before 2019 for a good price, my friend got a 5980r for about 95k back then and still has it to this day.

My grandfather has a Daytona Platinum and a Daytona white gold. He bought them, and other watches, over a ten year period or so after he retired. He was in finance. He's now 94 and is looking at selling the white gold. It really is a tough decision. The white gold is worth $75-80k today but the last time he looked at selling a few years ago it was worth $120k. The Platinum same deal. Worth $130ish thousand today. Worth $200k a couple years ago. I think he's gonna hold them but its wild how much the value swings everytime he looks at selling.

If the answer is no, then sell it and put the money in something that *is* a good investment at today’s prices.

Buying anything at a premium you should always say goodbye to whatever your spending, be okay with the fact that you'll never see that money again. If you cant be okay with that, you cant afford it.

When this watch was released it was the only male Rolex on sale in the Rolex store, everything else was sold out. I didn’t like it and it was out of my budget so I didn’t buy it. Boy did I make a mistake 😂

It’s a watch you can now get anywhere from £50k - £400k (depending on which model). Let’s say you bought the piece 4 years ago, you’d currently be down quite a bit of money. Yes, there’s a chance in 40 years it may be worth a good chunk… But currently? It’s terrible for short to mid-term investments.
