    Man that is so neat over @ 7:49. It's hard to believe that this is made from spare parts too! It is finally sinking into my brain just what these point and shoot cameras that I have around the house are actually doing.

    Just one simple correction. Your bulb needs to be further back. Focal length is the distance your lense needs to be away from image capturing material to display infinity focus. So your focus on your built is not focused to infinity. Instead it sits on a couple of meters.

    I already have one, my DSLR.. detaching the lens, taping the front of and pinning a hole through it does the trick. Offcourse it's more fun to build a primitive version of an older camera system. But most of them weren't that primitive, they already figured out how to do optics for telescopes and microscopes. And professional camera obscuras already had optics. Which was an ideal tool for painters to trace the image.

    can you do one where you use film or photopaper to capture images?

    • @grejuli97
      @grejuli97 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      KELVIN yes you can! Just use some low ISO photosensitive paper and replace the tracinpaper with it. but you wouldn’t need to use the mirror for that, since it is only used to prohect the image onto a horrizontal surface so it is easier to trace off of it. Be sure to check out other videos of pinhole cameras and combine that knowledge with videos of cyanotype photography. I am currently gathering information about photography of the early ages since I want to have a 1890’s style photograph for my graduation haha.

    I tried this and it didn’t work. I had trouble trying to figure out the correct measurements based on the exact focal lenghth. I think if you were more descriptive on every step it would be a lot easier to follow. I went to your website in hopes you actually had directions but it just the same on the TH-cam channel. Be nice to know exactly where should the mirror be placed on a 45 degree angle and other stuff.

    • @Shorkiedokey
      @Shorkiedokey 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe the mirror has to be aligned with the center of the lens, you can move back and forth the lens wall to see when the image looks correct on the 45 degree ramp, if it looks sharp then just glue the mirror there and that would be it.
