Jenna being a huge stihl guy with only big bore saws they hate the cold like we do lol. Im impressed by the fact you left hand started that saw hell im getting older and in the cold those saws will rip saw your shoulders out ! Another fun video to pass this winter by. Thanks Kyle! I need to get the smallest bar for this monster to to do some blocking. LOL We go this for milling purpose really and its freakin awesome!
Also, when it comes to warming up saws it’s ok to rev it some when cold to keep it running you just don’t want to pin it wide open. I also rev it up in stages, I have a short on it and I find that helps them last the longest and have the least chance of a cold sieze from heating up to fast
Nicely done. I keep hoping STIHL will take the injection system from the 500i and put it into like an 882i. Those stihl injection machines are so easy to start compared to a carburetor.
Chain too tight 😮 I can hear the whine and the chain stops almost instantly when you let off the throttle. Good job starting the saw! Shit looks tough.
I have a older 066, I’ve had awesome luck with klotz r50 and a higher octane fuel, I do give some throttle love taps to warm it up faster, I run a 36” bar, square ground full skip tooth chain and it works well on frozen wisconsin wood. That 881 is a work of art though. Messed with some 088’s but I’ve never ran a 881, I tinker with some relic 056’s in the summer for fun.
A lot of people like square tips, they just seem to hard to sharpen for what they are worth.... except for milling... I have to granberg ripper chains which are square and are awesome, but for everyday work i don't get it.... unless you give me a diff reason lol
hehe, nice workout in the cold :D That chain is a little too tight. You should give it some slack - especially if you gonna throw that thing on the shelf for a while.
That started shockingly easy. Im gonna get to do some cold starts at -40 here soon. But those 881s start nice compared to the old macs and homelites or even the 088. The wost starting will always be the Husqvarna 2100CD. 100 CC and no decomp valve and small handle, those start hard at 0 C nevermind -40
haha awww that sounds awful, no decomp valve. This 881 super new haven't ran no where near my other saws lol and it was in a 50 degree shop before hand so that's helps. haha
A good chainsaw video I love the big powerful chainsaw more important keep your self warm good thick coats hats thermal under clothing you will be bullet proof and some hot food 🍵 in side of you thanks very best wishes from Mr Ben Golby 👍👌
Oh yes! It is what it is tho. That's just something I had/have to learn to work around and be more cautious when running these tools. I'm not encouraging people to run these tools the wrong way who are new to this world, but I advise to be cautious no matter stage your in and do what makes you feel comfortable. I have years of experience of running chainsaws from an early age and I know what I'm comfortable of doing and what I'm not. What I'm trying to say be safe all the time. lol
Thank you, this is a good answer. I have only a small garden 300m² and have had only one tree to cut. So I have bought only a small electrical cainsaw from aldi. Your art is not for me. But I like it and will follow you. Have you evertried special tools for lefthanders? I am old now and have a long experience in usinng this wrong tool. Changing back is difficult. I am from the generation forced to write with the rigth hand. That is really a big mistake. Do you like to change this experiences about beeing lefthanded?@@chainsawjenna
Make sure its top dead center before pulling. My 088 is super tempermental in general . But once its cold its like pulling over a big tree with fishing line lol . 😂 now a days i pull bar off and put it in a warm vehicle.
@@chainsawjenna thank you very much for your response, I saw at Granberg that there were smaller chain pitches like the 3/8 1.3mm (050) lp, in GB Pro Titanium precisely to promote penetration and cutting precision with large guides. length, both for carving and miling.. only no one seems to use it or has any feedback for high-power machines.. best regards🎈
If you add10 mil litter sthill fully synthetic ultra 2 stroke oil too your aspin gallon petrol you get a rich mix of 40-1 instead of the old 50-1 mix that's what I use in my chainsaws and leaf blower and efco hedge trimmer
Hi chainsaw Jenna I just want to let you know that all stihl products don't usually like the cold weather it only works when it's cool to use them properly from Thomas Australia 🇦🇺 😊
Try pulling over a 090 I have one and I have the 881 as well and the 090 pulls over a lot harder you should see how cool those STIHL jet powered saws are

Let it warm up and make a cut. It was pretty tight.

Why didn't you start it on high idle after the saw popped off? Then it would run...

Hello Jenna, good video 👍🏼
This chain is a 3/8 lp for carving or .404?
It's a .404 chisel chain for milling.. I got it at granberg

Seus vídeos são muito bons. Temos uma fabrica Sthil no Brasil, mas não temos o 881😢

mostly for milling

This is a 54" bar that I got from Granberg. It's pretty massive, what's crazy is that they make even bigger bars. lol
