    Thanks for this video, I’ve often wondered about this. Since starting my collection my focus has shifted a couple of time and I’ve now got some really nice items, mainly modern but a couple of older bits as well. I think the main draw is the preservation aspect. I’ve got some nice GW cases but I think the extra step this takes is great and if you but the membership the prices are not actually all that bad.

    My guess for the Retro Vader getting a 90% has to do with being circulated when a figure goes through the circulation process the card is punched and most likely had been touched leaving fingerprints. Unless if it was uncirculated then idk why.

    • @BossksBounty
      @BossksBounty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question, I. think recently UKG may use the lowest number as the overall grade. I saw someone elses video that had the same issue. But yeah I would have preferred a 95! lol

    • @ActionFigureGrader
      @ActionFigureGrader 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The overall score on a carded figure is not an average, so if one 90 subscore is a "low enough 90", then it brings the overall score down to a 90. For example, I have one graded 90/70/95 and an overall 70+. Because the 70 ruined the overall score.

    I sent a collection of 4 loose vintage figures to UKG. All returned with 85 grading which I was slightly disappointed by but respected apart from one. I had a nein numb figure that was a post away, it was in a baggie and the baggie was a in a box in my desk. (look away now as this may upset some) I opened the bag and sent him loose as I wanted it displayed as was. They graded paint and figure 85 overall 85.. Now this thing had never been touched and to me looked as perfect as any figure ever. Honestly it made me very unsure of their grading process after that.

    I’ve never sent any of my figures off to be graded before but I’m starting to consider it as I believe I’ve got some gems in my collection in both 3.75” and 6” scale. Quick question. Do the grades always come back in 5% increments (80-85-90%, etc)? Given it appears most are in that 80-90% range, too me it would be more meaningful if they were more granular and used 1% increments instead. What’s the point if they’re all either 85 or 90? That’s just 2 different scores really. A 89% feels better than an 82%, so I’m not necessarily a fan of 5% rounding. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @BossksBounty
      @BossksBounty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah usually in 5’s but that’s why you have the sub grades to show each element. Also I believe CAS also show a decimal like 92.5 for example. Each grading company is slightly different
