How to Make an Electric Kick Scooter

- I built an electric kick scooter since personal electric vehicles are super popular now. I go over how I built it using a ready make electric bicycle conversion kit, a small donor bicycle, metal and various bit and bobs. This was a fun little project, it handles trails, large bumps, cracks in pavement and grass with no problems.

It's very cool when building an electric scooter, from a paddle scooter you found, and you see a video with what looks like the identical e-bike conversion kit you've had sitting in the closet for a couple of years! Also using some similar aluminum plates I found at a surplus store.. Your wiring setup may help me a lot! Thanks for taking the time to share this.

Why is it that TH-cam is filled with all these over-the-top complicated DIY videos for electric scooters, and not a single one that shows me how to simply upgrade a standard scooter to an electric scooter -_-?
I found two ezip 750's both listed as only needing batteries and new tires. Stripped one down, painted it and started modifying from there. Got a 1000w motor off an ezip stealth I was given, bought a lifepo4 pack (had to make a new deck to fit) and changed the sprockets to a 15/47 tooth using a roller clutch sprocket and I have a 35mph rocket for under $600
Man, that's so awesome! Just wondering if you're going to give it suspension in the future? Would really help smooth out that off road bumpyness. Glad I saw this. You've given me some ideas for my build. 👍😎👍
Awesome built. Thanks a lot, that made me inspired even more. I just noticed that your current motor 450W with 24V 9Ah battery will only last for +- 15 mins at full speed (Lead acid depth of discharge is at 50%). For sure in no time you will be injecting lithium ion battery. Ill stand by for that.

Good motor. I got that kit in my old bike whit a bigger sproket. Key thing was that I bought 24v 450w kit, but use 36v li-ion, or 37v lfp battey to get about 1200w. It takes it no problem, and bike is baseicly electric moped.

Love your shop and tools! Scooter Seems heavy for tires and rim. I have a 1980's zoot scoot that i'm making into an e scoot. I will use lithium ion batteries and i don't weld,so i will find a way. Thank u!

@ Andrew W, when I watch your videos I love watching your videos but could you put a link or not a link for say something warning people that you have welding on because it hurts my eyes and I’m sure I’m not the only one the glare off of it I don’t know it just hurts my eyes please put beware of welding on there or could you turn it away from your welding when you’re doing it please thanks keep up the good work

Great work there Andrew 👍 I wouldn't mind making one for myself and another for my wife too 👩❤️👨👩❤️💋👩 The only thing I don't like about your video is all the "FLASH" 😲😲when you are spot welding it is blinding to watch and sore on the eyes, maybe a disclaimer at the start of the video could give people a chance to either grab their welding helmet 😲 or their sunglasses at least 🙄
