    I love GUZZIs more than Harleys. I love those 2 cylinders in that position, the mileage, the "silence" during the ride, the 2nd generation ABS, the CARC system, MGCT (traction control).... everything. The perfect bike for everyday life....and in 2017 !!! V 3.0 COMING UP !!!! I want it !

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are they coming with a V3? I guess Piaggio wants to enter the daily commute market in the US. Makes sense.

      The V 3.0 is one the line !!! Euro 4 compliant (equivalent to USA top class pollution rules), NEW TRACTION CONTROL 32 BIT sensors, new injectors (multi injection system - 3 or 5 injection every cycle of the engine), ABS V 4.0 (no vibrations on the leverage), new RIDE POSITION. IT WILL BE SOLD IN THE USA !!! I'm waitin' for the V 3.0. I will buy the STONE ALL BLACK. A bit more powerful than V 3.0 but the same mileage.

      mptrax I've had 28 bikes, 8 of them Harleys. As my current bike is an 08 Harley Street Bob. Thinking seriously about selling it and getting a Guzzi. I've always wanted one, just never had the chance to get one.

      I had a 2012 Harley Davidson Wide Glide. Had it customized and it looked and sounded great...but I knew it was built just a little better than a Turd. Much rather have a Guzzi V7 now.

    I love my lil V7, awesome bike, took it around Europe a few years ago and out on a trackday at Brands Hatch GP circuit in the UK, it lapped it all up, fantastic bike! :-)

    Great video. It's refreshing to see someone else riding their like I ride mine. There are great reviews for the V7 on TH-cam, but it seems like everybody is just putzing around going 40 mph. Highway speeds are where the bike really comes to life.

    I like your video. You have succeded to record the lovely sound of the bike.I notice that the sound goes out a bit at higher speed. I have experienced the same with my microphone. Which microphone do you use? I guess you have it mounted on your back to get such a good recording. I am searching for a microphone that can be used at higher speeds.

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Arne, I used the GoPro built in mic on front of my helmet. That explains the sound going lower at higher speeds.

    Just came across your vid as I was looking at the MG V7's a little more. I live here in Vegas too. Love your ride from Summerlin Pkwy on to the 215. You're on my side of town. How does the bike do in the Vegas summer heat? Did you get your bike over at Freedom? My only concern with the European bikes here in LV is the lack of shops and mechanics who can work on them, if/when needed. I know you mentioned that too replying to a previous post. However, I would be very interested in something a little different.

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I rode all past summer with no issues. At 110F and above the bike never overheated. Cylinder heads position and naked design is very efficient at high temperatures. I did buy my bike in California, however I had the opportunity to tour the new Eurocycle dealer (ex Freedom). Chris Clovis, the new owner, promises to bring value to their customers with great a service and competitive pricing. Much needed here in Las Vegas.

      Well, I pulled the trigger and got the V7 II Stone over at Euro Cycle earlier this week. I got the Matte Grey (Grigio Intenso) colored one. I live and ride around the same area you do. Maybe we can meet up one of these days and ride! :)

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congratulations! I love the Grigio color. Euro Cycle is a new Moto Guzzi Dealer and has some of the best deals in the nation. I am looking into a new racer they have for $8999, I think is a great deal.
      Certainly, I have been thinking now that we have a dealer and all of a MG group for Las Vegas. I have been riding with mostly HD groups, it'll be great to ride with somo Guzzitisti. Cheers

      Raymond Montepio Yes, they have a couple 2016 model bikes left at this promo price. Excellent opportunity to get into the Guzzi clan. I'm passing the deal and will hold until next year. Rumors are the Racer will have the new V9 engine with the increased HP and torque.

      I just picked up one yesterday and they still have that price. Love my Guzzi, and loved the experience at Eurocycle. Today it's 34 degrees and I'm still taking it out to Searchlight just because it is so fun to ride.

    HI...I've been wanting one of these but the triumph street twin is catching my attention these days.....which one would you choose and why? Thank you.

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Difficult question to answer. I like the Triumph, the way it looks and heritage. From a character stand point it is a superb little bike and more sophisticated than the V7; ride by wire, slip clutch and led lightning. Also, there are far more dealers an shops servicing Triumph so it's far easier to maintain and mod the bike to your taste. Now for the bad: New 900cc Triumph engine lost horsepower in favor of torque. Not a bad thing depending of the riding conditions. The new power curve peaks torque at 3200 rpm and HP at 5000 rpm. Triumph calls this "real world" riding conditions, I agree but the question is "where in the world"?. In Europe where it's pretty much street fighting all day, the high torque is king as you are dashing from street lights to your next stop while lane splitting. Here in Las Vegas in the freeway going 75mph @ 4500 rpm you are already at near peak HP and torque is actually dropping. On top of that, the bike weights 100lbs more than the Guzzi. Passing cars and trucks over 75 mph is going to take longer despite the fact that the engine has higher output. I think the power curve of the Triumph is not well suited for freeway riding far more common in the US. If you can, I recommend you ride the Bike in your area and take the freeway. Again, I love Triumph, but the new power curve may not be the best for our riding conditions.

    • @ossa60
      @ossa60 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      emiliorlopez Very nice!! Thank you very much. I think I might not have any troubles because it's for the valleys and mountainous area of colombia and perhaps ecuador. Highways are not that long in this area. But I still think the Gucci is far more beautiful. That engine and fuel tank are gorgeous!

    • @jeffslade1892
      @jeffslade1892 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly a misconception about european roads; the traffic light dash only occurs in inner cities, and not always then with distribution roads. Once off the boring motorways (multi-lane highways) we have many excellent motorcycling roads.
      The Speed Twin and the V7ii are more or less the same weight, around the 200kg mark. The Triumph has a couple more horses and more torque but the torque on the Guzzi starts earlier and the power band is essentially flat all the way to max revs. That power band is almost ridiculously long, for normal riding you don't have to keep changing gear. The Triumph does not run out of steam about 5000rpm though. The Guzzi does have better 4-pot Brembo brakes. Both bikes have a top speed of over 100mph but riding a naked bike much over 70 for any distance can be unpleasant.

    • @jeffslade1892
      @jeffslade1892 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Street Twin has a 12 litre fuel tank, that on the Guzzi V7 is 21 litres. The Street Twin returns about 76mpg (UK gallons), the V7ii about 62mpg, giving the Guzzi nearly +30% or another 90 miles of range.
      I chose the V7ii (2015 Stone) over the Street Twin partly for the styling and partly for the less tapered pillion seat, and partly the used price (always important).

    What is valve adjustment interval?

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is an initial inspection at 600 miles, then adjustments every 12000 miles. These are fairly easy to adjust, low tech valves. Nothing fancy like Ducatis. Anyone with basic mechanical skills and the tools can do the job.

  • @akula1055

    Emilio how much is the maximum speed on that bike ?

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ciao akula 1055, the specs say 110 MPH @ 7000 RPM, however I'd say in real world conditions (weight, wind, road) you are Ok up to 100 MPH. The reason is that at 7000 RPM you are already out of the power curve.

    • @akula1055
      @akula1055 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      emiliorlopez Thanks for your prompt answer Emilio, muchas gracias por si hablas espanol.

    • @jeffslade1892
      @jeffslade1892 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Real world, easily 100mph and probably 115mph. It's 16.216mph per 1000rpm in top and the power doesn't fall off sharply after max power at 6200rpm. The 'power curve' is nearly flat. Rev limiter is 7200rpm but is 'soft'; 7000rpm would be 114mph. It's ton-up but don't expect it to be a crotch-rocket, fortunately it has good brakes.

      wow, i heard about 6+ seconds. that's amazing, i'm about to invest and get me a bike for hopefully long, long time...the guzzi got only 50hp because of the European licence system that we have over here, but 5-6 sec is great.

  • @KidKaimera

    Do you guys think a V7-III would be a great starter bike?

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      KidKaimera Depends, the new stone model does not have a tachometer which I believe is a mistake. You’ll have to spend some xtra money on the special or the racer to get it. An alternative is to get the Vii which has all the instruments and can be found new in some dealers. The only difference between the two versions is cosmetic, everything is the same. Guzzi’s are excellent starter bikes and a great value for the money. As long as you don’t demand sport bikes performance you are fine. Easy to service, overbuilt and long lasting bikes made in Italy.

    I'm looking at getting a v7, just wondering if anyone has experience with long rides on the highway, does it cruise easy at speeds around 60-70? How does it compare on the highway to a bonneville?

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been to Los Angeles, Phoenix and Salt Lake City. No problem cruising @ 75 MPH all day long. You may want to add a windscreen for your comfort, but I am Ok without one. They compare well to the Bonneville, and to be honest, they are a better deal. Both motorcycles are great looking, good quality but rather slow when compared to Sport bikes. But, I believe the Moto Guzzi is a better value at $2K under the Bonneville.

    • @monopolymoney2703
      @monopolymoney2703 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      emiliorlopez true. Only thing for me is I can find used bonnies at a cheaper price than v7s. Not a whole lot of them around me. But I'm definitely gonna test ride one.

  • @ripmax333
    @ripmax333 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m a V7 or a V7 II, with a v7 i can find great deals but with the version II i have the benefits of the abs and traction control but the price is getting a bit over budget. I currently riding a 250 but its a light bike at 145kg, I’m worried that with a guzzi without ABS i would get myself into trouble, i’m not a fast rider i just love to cruise more than going full bore, but I’m still worried that i can make a wrong decision going without ABS. Any suggestions??

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and thank you for watching my video. The V7 series are not fast bikes and not really heavy at 200Kgs. The chances of you locking the wheels unintentionally in dry pavement are low, the ABS system shines in wet conditions. I own both a V7 and V7 II and never had ABS go into action in my V7 II. However, more than the ABS is the new transmission what you'll be missing in the V7. The new transmission has a 6th gear that lays to rest the discussion about the Guzzi being freeway worthy. The new transmission is also smoother and more precise on gear changes vs. previous generations. For me it was the new transmission what sold me on the new generation Guzzis. With the new V7 III now in the market, you can find great deals on the V7 II. They are in my opinion the best value. Hope this helps in your decision, I know how difficult it can be to balance your dreams vs. what you can afford.

    • @ripmax333
      @ripmax333 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for your kind reply, you cannot image how helpful is to get advice from someone that actually knows the bike. my other problem is seat height, from the previous generations up to the version III its seams that the seat height were getting lower. I have a 31 inch inseam and i'm really worried that i wont be able to put both my feet on the ground, especially on the previous models. I think also that they have a very wide seat which it might not help.

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 5"9" no problem putting both feet flat on the road when riding the V7 with stock seat.

    i find the Triumph street cup better than this one

    • @emiliorlopez
      @emiliorlopez  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slorm Raptor Indeed, the Triumph is a technologically superior m/c . However the increased weight and lower power output for the 2017 models at a much higher price than the Guzzi is something to think about.
