That was emotional as hell. I cried. Ragnar knew he made the biggest mistake of his life, when he lost Lagertha because of his infidelity. They truly loved each other, and never stopped loving each other, even into death and beyond. In his maturity, he wished for nothing more than to be back on his farm, with Lagertha and their children, that's what he longed for and missed. A peaceful life. It's something that youth doesn't understand, until it's too late.
Their love overcame hurt and betrayal, it transcended. They were ALWAYS together, even when they weren't.
Do you really believe she forgave him that easily for what He did to her I don't believe that that for a second that she could or would just forgive him that easily and we all know that she told aslang that she couldn't &wouldn't ever forgive her for taking her husband away from her and also to my not knocking aslang even though I don't like her but I think both Ragner& aslang where so deeply unhappy with each other by the middle of season 3 or 4 that they just didn't know to dig themselves out of the mess they both made of there lives and all the bad choices made by both of them and making it even worse for Ragner was that he lost the one true love of his life and because of his actions she was never able to find true love again even though she loved I'm till the end it's not the same as being with person and besides that do we really believe she really divorced from him cuz there is no prove in the show that happened only what she said that she was going to did she or did she not really do that we really don't know that do we maybe she and maybe she didn't do that she could have just been saying that to scare him a little bit cuz in that era vikings didn't keep records

@@teribrown2360 I am not saying she forgave him but she understood him, she knew what he was and his ambition was always a driving force. It's the reason she loved him in the first place so seeing what he became only fueled her love for him greater. It was a different time and a different life, they respected each other more than either of them ever respected someone else. I don't see it as sad more that their love never died no matter what happened, that is a rare and beautiful thing.
These two never getting back together is the biggest tragedy ever!

Lagertha didn’t leave because she stopped loving him, she did it out of self respect. At the first sign of Ragnar’s trouble, she went right back to help him out. Sad love story really, one big mistake ended it and they never got back since, as much as they both wanted to. At least they got one goodbye kiss before his death.

I loved them together but when he cheated and she actually respected herself more than she loved him was something I'm glad they chose to do. Not every woman will stay the ones who have self respect and dignity can carry themselves through that heartbreak even if they loved the person more than anything. I could never forgive a cheater. But I loved them together and was gutted when he did what he did.

She didn’t leave because he cheated she left because he wanted to marry Aslaug and have them both. She tried to forgive him after she discovered what she did and was even friendly towards auslag when she turned up to their home pregnant until Ragnar said he wanted to marry her. So she left so he could have his sons and she didn’t have to witness her husband with another woman

Lagertha one of the best characters in Vikings and probably the best female character. She represents the strong, independant woman who went through so much, never lost a fight and her love for Ragnar stayed sincere until the end. May they both be reunited in Valhalla.
She definitely lost a few fights. She had to to progress as a person.

He hungered for power even if that meant losing lagertha, but in all honesty when she left him she was able to do more and achieve her own amount of power without him. She created a name for herself and not for just being Ragnars wife. I believe they were like soulmates but too much shit just got caught in the middle of them for them to be together again. Even Ragnar admits in someways he doesn't regret how his life came out but he does regret not being with her. I believe they both miss the simple days when they were just farmers and their family was happy.

Ahhh this is so beautiful. I especially love the ending part, with Lagertha's "last words" to Ragnar's spirit. I always wanted them to get back together, but unfortunately that did not come to pass. However I am glad in the end they got closure from one another, and they both knew deep down they had a lot of love and respect for each other. At least their love will live on through their son, Bjorn.

I love Bjorn but it bothers me that he is constantly cheating on whoever he is committed to. After seeing his family torn apart because of Ragnars' infidelity as a boy I would think that would make him not want to make the same mistakes. But I also think his parents deep love for eachother is something that he has never experienced, that's why it's so easy to go from wife to wife.
