@@some-random-idiot6853 same way you would bolt it holding right hand. but since your left handed, you'll have to just use your right hand as mentioned to chamber another round
Pro tip for marksmanship in VR and IRL: don't hold your breath, just stop, take your shot and exhale, taking the initial breath in will tense up your lungs and can cause you to have very slight jitters, breathe normally and steady and simply pause between regular breaths, don't gulp down air like your going underwater
Hold with your main hand, stabilize with your off hand. Hold your main hand loose and close to your chest, it just serves to keep the back of the rifle in place with the sight by your eye. Keep your off hand as a stabilizer and tense it, this will kill micromovements. Use your off hand to swivel the weapon and aim, keeping your main hand still. If you have an actual rifle (or gunstock) you can rest the barrel on your non-dominant elbow to aim more steadily. Keep your off hand to your chest if you do this to use your arm as a platform to steady the weapon on. The closer you pull the arm to your chest, the more stable your shot becomes, but the more limited your range of motion becomes.
It's a old comment but he's right. You fire at you're natural respiratory pause. That brief moment right after exhaling but before inhaling again. It's the point you are most still. There are other techniques but nothing you are going to need for a VR game.
As Sportsshooter and Hunter in the RL one of the worst things you can do is holding your breath in. Just take two deep inhales and exhale completly before a shot. This way you are way more relaxed and can keep your Aim stable longer.
I personally love the Mosin just because it feels really cool pulling the bolt back. Also, you should pull the bolt with your right hand. It's way faster, and it's also what soldiers were taught in training.
With a real rifle you can cycle with the right hand because your left hand, and right shoulder, can hold the gun stable while you cycle. However I find in VR that when my control hand (right) lets go, sometimes the gun model moves or behaves janky and that throws off the aim of the subsequent shot.
@@joelarson1733 guns in vr are always going to jerk to wherever your hand is, no matter which hand comes off the gun. Personally I use my right hand because it’s faster but it doesn’t really matter too much
One sniping tip I would add, if into the radius allows it, rack your gun with the hand that’s pulling the trigger, as it allows you to stay sighted in and keep a bead on your target, while also being a bit faster in my experience
Into the radius absolutely allows that, that's how you're supposed to do it anyway I've noticed with into the radius if you use your offhand to pull the bolt it's actually a lot more annoying to do / takes more effort

For holding breath, it's actually breath out, when your breath's gone and you feel a little heart beat is when you begin squeezing the trigger slowly until the gun fires. The gun will fire on it’s own when it’s ready to fire. You focus on staying on target. But shouldn’t be longer than a few seconds, after a few seconds repeat the process.

I have found that holding my breath is such a natural reaction for me. I am also a WAYYY better shot at long range. Within an hour of buying the game I had made a 100+ foot iron sight PM headshot on a mimic and less than 5 minutes later missed 7 consecutive shots at short range on yet another mimic.
It's actually better to fire on empty lungs for most people. Just a lil tip. Some prefer holding, some prefer empty. I myself prefer empty lungs. I don't shake as much.

This video was great, nobody else has any kind of detailed statistical information on this game collected into a digestible place Gotta say tho, you really need to get used to racking the boltguns with your dominant hand :P. It's faster, it requires less overall movement effort, and you can keep the gun raised and forward which means reacquiring is easier. It might even make cycling the bolt all the way more consistent for you. The shooting both eyes open thing is a very strong tip I learned awhile back when starting out with VR and h3, and it is a godsend. It can be a little disorienting with magnified optics if you aren't very practiced, but for unmagnified it is just the better way to shoot, unquestionably. I have used some absurd canted red dot setups in h3 that let me rotate my gun to comfortably look down both sights at once, just changing my focus. Better than any variable zoom optic in any VR game.
Yeah the racking the bolt with the wrong hand is something everyone has seemed to notice lol. Still to this day tho using my left hand to slide the bolt feels more natural to me in VR, even after my many years of IRL shooting.

my tip for aiming is buy or build a stock. makes a world of difference and just feels far more satisfying. have to say though most of the time my engagement range means im just using an AK with a reflex sight. get a lot more flexibility with that but i do carry a long barrel shotgun with scope. accuracy at very long ranges isnt the best but the ammo's so cheap it doesnt really matter. plus you can carry buckshot as well for emergencies.
Printed myself one for the Index, but I personally find it to be more trouble than it's worth. Switching to a sidearm is a right pain, and I also occasionally smack the controllers against the stock when not using it. I think the virtual stock option in ITR is good enough for sniping purposes.
@@davidkyo1985 yeah i can see it being an issue. i use my stock playing Onward mostly and it does slow me down in transitions if i wanna try and grab/throw a grenade. im using vive controllers though so i can drop the stock in a heartbeat and switch to my sidearm easily. its switching back to the primary and getting the controllers seated in the stock after that costs me time. i prefer the feeling of being able to actually shoulder my weapon though. just feels to floaty without a real stock. its how i've played from the start though so more used to that.
It might be weird but even though in right handed I use it left handed so if i wanna always hold my trigger it isnt as akward to cycle the both. You could also just hold the front of the gun and let go of the trigger and bolt with the clostest hand.
