- The Tramway Historical Society's Kitson steam tram (of 1881) is one of the most unique survivors from any of New Zealand's old tram networks. She is fully restored and occasionally runs with her trailer coaches on the Ferrymead Tramway, which is part of the heritage park and (mostly) runs parallel to the nearby 3ft 6inch gauge railway.
No. 7 was running over Labour Weekend, so I took the opportunity to see her for the first time, and indeed; I'm very happy to have finally seen this little thing. Also featured in this video is Christchurch double-decker tram No. 26 (built in 1906). But this time, something strange happened when we got to the Ferrymead terminus.
Great little engine and great tramway. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
