The farting chihuahua has perfect comic timing ❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
I’ve been waiting all week for this video! It didn’t disappoint. Doubtless I will watch it several times. So funny, although I did feel so sorry for Mr Boo! Love your film making… thanks so much for your great story telling, and gently caustic viewpoint!
Thanks very much. It was a heavy edit on a very heavy week of other stuff so I’m really glad you enjoyed.
"We're stuck in a plastic car with a farting chihuahua..." lmao
In Elton in the rain. All i'm saying is 'are you sure it was twigs;?
Mr Boo had a mischievous smile on his face when twigs got the blame. 😇😇😇🤣
I said that but he totally denied it!
"Stuck in a plastic car, raining in, with a farting chihuahua..." - who writes your scripts???😂 The best entertainment of the week by far❤
Thanks Peter!
Hi Tim & Mr Boo, that was another fantastic video. You must’ve been exhausted editing it. I loved the bit about the farting chihuahua I was crying with laughter. Garry and I are coming to Nice tomorrow 24th of July staying in Vence at our usual hotel. I am bringing some Twinings teabags for you. Hilary 👍🏻😃
That was a monster edit I have to say! Thanks! Are you heading to Villefranche?
Camping la Bergerie, so many great memories of staying there over 16 summers!
It’s a lovely place. Had it changed much?
@@MeandMonAmi Not really only the pool is new, everything is the same from 30+ years ago. Lovely place
Excellent fun, thank you 🙏 Greatest ad for AirBnb ever!
We love our camping!
Ooooh ,this brings back memories of my camping shenanigans with my husband....we then moved onto a caravan and had more shenanigans....always enjoyed our adventures and little travels .
Thank you Tim,Mr Boo and little Twiggy for more giggles and bringing backnthe memories 😃 ❤
Yes a caravan looked like a palace to us on this trip!
'It won't take as long as it did last time', 'lets get it up' and 'it will take 2 seconds' carry on camping 😂😂😂. Love your vlogs 😊
It went up quicker but taking it down. omg
Get up them Alps into that there snow stuff in that there tent hahaha,,, brilliant stuff ,, thanks to you 3 ,,, Neil , Lizz and BarneyBoo the Cockerpoo xxxx
Glad you enjoyed it guys. We’d need better sleeping bags!
fantastic trip away guys...beautiful filming underwater and of the fox...
Many thanks!
Pure comedy guy’s. Thankyou
Thanks Sharon
Mister Me and Mister Boo and Elton and Twiggy 🐶🐕I'm not sure which was worse, the rain dropping in the car or the stench of Twigs digestive system 😂😂😂😂what a,bloody combination 😳😂😂 one thing to take from all this, the weather is paramount to good camping 😂😂judging by some if those caravan 🚐 me thinks others have given up 😂😂bloody hilarious these 2 vlogs Tim, fair play to Mister Boo, patience of a bloody saint !!!!!! Stay safe and well and obviously stay charged 👍 🎉
I just loved this video your editing is amazing the transitions are so clean and tight. I just really enjoy watching you the way you edit and tell the story it feels like i am sitting there with you which is not an easy thing to achieve. Love you and your channel ❤️
Thank you so much. This video was a monster edit. About 15 hours!
@@MeandMonAmi you can tell its unbelievable the edit in this video
Can recommend the ‘Naturehike Opalus 3’ tent as a great spacious, cost effective and lightweight(ish) tent. Has a big vestibule/porch for storing gear. Happy camping x
Thanks
Reminds me of every family camping trip .lol
Being a tightwad, my camp / ad-hoc pillow has long been a cheap
lightweight waterproof sil-bag that I fill with air & fold to seal, works pretty well, as does a 5 euro sausage shaped waterproof bag with the same folding closure, ideal to stuff your dirty clothes in for extra neck support
Top tips. Multipurposing is the key to micro living!
Camping is my worst nightmare, and this vid only validates it. I am glad I stumbled upon these two, they are so funny and enjoyable. I am moving to the area in a couple of months and like how their vids showcase the area.
Welcome aboard!
Mr Boo seemed quite cheerful on the way home. 😀
Funny that!
Entertaining as always but especially so seeing you both adapt to camping, a brave thing to do later in life. Having said that, at 59 I am off camping soon with my family and really looking forward to it, albeit my other half doesn't do camping for health reasons. I'm hoping I'll get some sleep and not feel like Mr Boo! Ive caravanned and camped a fair bit when my kids were young but very little over the last 10 years so fully get Mr Boo's concerns. Two single airbeds might do the trick for Me Boo and the tarp suggestion I think is an excellent idea. Carry on Camping!
Good luck. Yes, bigger tent and separate mattresses! The problem might be bigger tent equals bigger weight on the roof!
Never ceases to amaze me how much you can get into the Ami! Love it
One day it will pop!
"Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these sunken eyes and learn to see...." One of the most underrated Beatles tracks of all time and my personal favourite! Great video as always both! 17:41
Thanks Mr Boo says it’s Beyonce!
That shirt does look great.
Thanks it’s a good blue!
Get rid of the air mattress and get a memory foam one.youll sleep much better.
Yup!
Looks lovely there!!!
Lovely site
Another wonderful adventure. So fun to experience these intimate moments in France with your lovely family. Glad you all got to enjoy it even sans sleep for Mr. Boo.. 🌻
🇫🇷 ❤ 🐕
Our pleasure!
Love you lads 😂😂 you've put me off camping for life.
I love it and I will win Mr Boo over
Hahaha! I don’t get ‘camping’. You bring a proxy of your entire home with you - build anew - suffer in the elements. Haven’t we come further? Hahaha! Choice of music is a crack-up!
You may have a point!
The double entendres! The farting chihuahua! The tiny tent: I kept thinking of the famous line from JAWS : “We’re gonna need a bigger boat.” Yes you are. Enjoying your camping adventures so much so will help asap by buying you some coffees. Keep ‘em coming. I laughed so much this time. Thanks. ❤😂
Thanks very much!
I really like the song playing ‘Today is a good day’ 🎶🎶🫶
Wishful thinking. Though in truth the good bits were just that!
What a sensational relationship you've STILL got with Mr. BOO Tim!
If he didn't run to the hill's while you were going for your driving license!!
Now the camping. He did seem gung-ho when shopping for camping accouterments!
But I think he's fading.. LoL
Love you guy's! ❤
I wore him out on this trip. A bigger tent is needed and some separate mattresses!
@@MeandMonAmi I agree with the separate mattress; Fern how I found you one Christmas.
Did the same thing. She bought four little mattress for each of her family.
It's hard to sleep; when one person moves during the night you wouldn't be disturbed.
Great idea; and thank you both for content that I look forward to each and every week.
I must say my apologizes for not contributing to the coffee fund.
I've found myself in a difficult period.
With a fixed income and the passing of my partner.
If I had anything extra you both would be where I sent.
With much graduated to you vedios and humor.
I thank YOU!
Great episode! mr Boo was all smile at the end. was he happy the camping trip was over?
He wants to go again (with new tent!)
@@MeandMonAmi You can always keep the small tent for Twiggy...
Looks cosy inside.
Fantastic video. Loving this citroen camping series.
Thanks Daniel
It seems that this time went a bit better than the first, despite the rain.
The nights are always the worst part due to the difficulty in sleeping. Not everyone can have a good night's sleep outside their comfort zone, but like everything, it's a matter of habit, the location is fantastic and has all the facilities for those who want to camp.
We both loved the site and we will master the sleep issues. We know what we need now. (I think!)
@@MeandMonAmi A good stiff one before retiring?
We have been staying at Bergerie for years, it's a little haven of peace and tranquillity in the madness of the cote d azure. The dog walks in the woods both inside and outside the site are absolutely lovely, you can cycle in to vence and if you have a decent electric bike down to the coast.
How fabulous! We loved it. Gorgeous site and lovely people
This is why I will never go camping again. Ever. Still, makes for some lovely videos! Thank you!
We genuinely love it but we have to master the sleeping!
Another brilliant film guy's❤ keep on camping, don't forget italian clamping, combined with shopping tour.🎉
Watch this space (though not til September and the crowds clear a bit!)
Poor old Twiggy. I've never seen her looking so exhausted . . . 🤗
Tell me about it
What a lovely place..yes, I think a bigger tent would be good..but would be impossible to carry on Elton’s roof..🚙
I think we can mange the size it’s the weight that worries me
I wonder if anyone makes trailers for Amis? Somewhere I’ve seen photos of a vintage Bubble car hauling a custom trailer.
I could see Mr Boo struggled with this trip. Lack of a decent nights sleep definately puts a dampner on things however nice the location maybe.
I love camping, but you really need decent weather and more space to move in the tent. Impossible for you due to weight restrictions. The look of happiness on Mr Boo's face when you left said it all!
Yes we’ve been very unlucky so far and we do need a bigger tent and that’s a big problem with weight on the ami roof but I am searching for one!
That’s another fine mess you got me into lol
What an adventure. You should keep in mind tents on ground next to a tree, whose roots extend far beyond the tree could be a problem in a lightening storm should tree be struck. Please go sit in your car if it is lightening. LOL...we'll take a hotel right down the road...fairly soon.
Hi there, just found your channel and love it! Do you have a video showing how you and Mr Boo came to be in Villefranche, your apartment etc? Would love to see this! Take care both…….
Welcome on board. One day we’ll do that video!
10:23 Awww Lizzie Birdsworth….
I think I camped there in 1991 on the same trip when the woman bollocked me in the Sospel restaurant for ordering the wrong wine ...
Ha that’ll teach you!
I slept for years on inflatable mattresses without problem. The ones that worked for me are the ones from Intex and the self inflating (pumpless) thin mattress from AS adventure. Indeed, better get 2 separate ones unless you go for the double and very thick one from Intex. These mattresses have a lot of internal rigidity. The tent is way too small. A big Decathlon tent is the size of a larger sports bag. Dont know if it would fit in or on top of your car. Btw: decathlon sponsors online content creators with free stuff. Good content!
Yes it’s the sharing element not the air bed though those decathlon foam and air are much better I think and yes this tent is way too small but the ami roof is already under big pressure and the bigger tens are way heavier
A tarp could be quite useful. Not the blue plastic ones although they are very useful. What i mean is the ones that can be made into a tent or a shelter or can be strung between trees. Basically a lightweight tent fabric sheet with some paracord plus or minus a couple of lightweight poles if there are no handy trees.
Thanks. Yup!
Another great camping video, shame about the weather but looked like a lovely place
It’s a fab place. We’ll go again
It didn't go well for you, all that rain doesn't make it any more fun. Camping is a lot of fun as long as the weather cooperates. Still, it was a fun video and I'm already looking forward to the next one!
We love camping and are convinced it won’t rain next time!
Not as bad I thought it would be. Hardly a monsoon in sight.
Again, the actual site looks very well organized with everything catered for.
Of course, the Pota Potti landing zone was enough to make anyone wretch 🤮
But I guess vital for those who like to use a plastic model of a real toilet, only
to face reality at a later date.
Raw egg and raw minced beef, no thanks unless it gets mixed together and
fried in a pan "Beef Burger" 👍🏼
Great upload, keep them coming.
Thanks. I guess there’s no such thing as a free…
If your looking for a compact lightweight tent that you can stand up in and has bags of room with a vestibule you can sit in with a table and chairs look at the GALAXY VANGO 300.
Thanks will do!
Next up: camping in an Ami, but it’s a roof tent.
Cheers from Brazil🎉
We’d love to but theres no way the roof would take that!
"Stuck in a plastic car with a farting chihuahua" should be the subtitle to your chanel. Would be great marketing lettered on Elton, or the back of the Me and mon Ami t-shirt. You are welcome😅
I nearly made it the video title but feared those who don’t know us might not get it!
You guys do make me laugh. 😂we were in Menton the same week and the weather wasn't great. Not a fan of raw egg though 😂 subbed
Raw eggs keep you regular!
Luvin this channel 😊
Thanks
Je moet een ondermatras leggen, houdt de koude tegen.Hebben ze ook bij Decathlon!Je zal dan wel slapen 😴😴😴😴💤💤💤
I am from Manchester. Manchester is rain city. Manchester has nothing on the Cote d'Azur when the rain shows up: it can be terrifying. About 2 years ago a huge cloud of thunder and lightning sat off...Ventigmilia/San Remo for about 4 hours. It was like something from a Marvel movie.
When it rains down here it really rains. (which is why the light rain we had on this trip was so odd)
What a laugh 😂. Wonder if I’m the only person to get the Kenneth Halliwell and Joe Orton reference 🤔
I’m guessing that’s bad?
So far the only direct reference
It didn't slip by me unnoticed! I hope you don't end up doing a stretch in cell block H
You need a bigger tent! :)
Shame about the weather but still it looks a lovely place to stay and your bed setup looks lovely , maybe you just need separate air mattresses :)
Place wonderful. Mattress needs dividing
Twiggy letting one rip in the Ami made my eyes water as well! 😂
It was the butter wouldn’t melt face too!
I'm afraid it's one of those Summers.
It’s boiling now!
@@MeandMonAmi That's life.
nice car 😅😅😅
25 years ago my wife and I plus collie dog, rode our bikes, with trailer, from Roscoff to Antibes. we had a tent just a bit bigger than yours but for sleeping mattresses we had, 'any surface mats' which easily rolled up to a manageable size, these had a layer of memory foam in the middle which allowed it to self inflate when the bung was removed. More air could easily be added to personalise comfort. They worked out to be extremely comfortable on many varied surfaces. I think they were called 'Self inflating mattresses'. Original Eh?
Twiggy's size hides a lot of toxic potential. Why has nobody employed dog farts in chemical warfare? Safer than tear gas? Might be hard to harvest, though.
Lol. Yes decathlon do a very nice and a bit expensive version of this which i fear we will have to buy!
6:19 I love your videos, l look forward to watching them. Is it possible to keep the camera on full screen all the time instead of the 1/3 screen ? I want to see as much as possible of the beautiful places that you visit. This is my favorite channel, keep up the good work.
Not on the stuff we film secretly on the meta rayban glasses and that changes how you film as you can’t put a tent up whilst holding a camera or film in restaurants with other people around.
It looks to me that the "Modern Caravan" might actually be of "Summer Holiday" vintage.
Yes It probably is, Like Cliff!
Oh heck I have two chihuahua's and Sassy that's her name is a fart machine and do they ever stink! So I do feel your pain. 🤣🤣
They are hot on the farting
@@MeandMonAmi True so true.
Hi Tim, we are picking up a car from a rental place near the airport on Monday at 11. We can be at the car park where you took delivery of Elton at about 12.30 if that’s ok with you.
Ok maybe send me a PVT message on instagram?
2:54 - "We're stuck in a plastic car, that's raining in, with a farting chuahua."
It am sorry for you to have to go through that, ... but it is entertaining watch :-)
We exist to please!;
You should buy a lightweight canopy to cover your car while it rains. You could park underneath it. In the United States, you can get one for $30 at Walmart. You could even set it up over your tent and chairs so that you can keep the rain off of you. Better yet you could get a gazebo that has screens on the sides.
Funny you say that I was only looking at some this week. Need one that doesn’t attach to car really
@@MeandMonAmia cheap lidl or aldi gazebo? with detachable sides. you could shade your tent entrance or have a covered dining socialising area.
great video. been to south of france and italian cote d'azur many times. lovely area. you are blessed to live and work there. each of your videos feel like a mini summer break. keep up good work. 👍
I wonder how that would fare in stormy weather? If it was blowing about the camp site that could be a problem.
4M X4M light weight tarp will cover Elton and the tent and provide sun and rain protection - outdoor sitting area - transformations - more camping please ;-)
Hi Tim, Yes we will be coming to Villefranche. What day would be best for you both?
Possibly Monday if that works? Tuesday we are filming
I feel yer pain. No point coming to Scotland either. Been a shite summer here
Lol I once went boating in Scotland and amazingly the weather was nice and it was amazing. Not Risking it again though
@@MeandMonAmi Yes, I can't blame you. UK's summers are now so unpredictable. I get why so many UK citizens want to up sticks and move permanently abroad to warmer climes.
Hi, I hope you stick with the camping - it's very entertaining - though I feel for Mr Boo not sleeping. Perhaps should consider what to feed twiggy in the days before spending time in a tent with her !
Yes we need the Twiggy camp diet
“Stuck in a Plastic Car That’s Been Raining In With a Farting Chihuahua” should be the name of a country and western song. 😜
At 15 minutes I thought it was my previous van Bert arriving a Tabbert 570, but it was a cheap copy not a Tabbert. Shame you are not closer I've loads of spare camping equipment lots of it lightweight from days going to festivals in a 7 type kit car.
That would have been fabulous. It’s light and big we need!
11:48 I thought Mr Boo was going to find a squat toilet behind that door. :(
I know.. We had some on villefranche beach up to this year.
bonsoir mes amis d'Espagne. I have already said the bald foodie guy who is also holidaying somewhere in France that he needs to come to Spain and the same applies to you - WE NEED THE RAIN.
Won’t stop here! Actually July has been lovely but it even managed a few showers today for your de France !
There was one scene, when you returned to fetch in the towels, when Elton never looked more miserable with the whole affair. Sort of sums up the weather and Mr Boo's weary looks from not sleeping. Seeing as they have glamping pods there, those wooden structures, you could stay in one and do a day trips out and about and not have to worry about a) the weather, and b) a good nights sleep. Twiggers farts would of course have to be managed but I guess, at the risk of annoying Elton, she could stay in him?
We’ve been very very unlucky with weather. I think we just need a bigger tent or camping device
Really beautiful drone shot at the end. How was the mosquito situation?
That was totally fine bizarrely. Worse here in villefranche.
Chaps, I just nipped to your older video of accessories you never take a trip without to check this one out, & have to ask, in the absence of a Type 2 to domestic socket 16A adapter (WiFi version/ non wifi) doe this limit charging even further or is it something you have considered to access a wider variety of chargers & adventuring with elton? (the cable fits around the door recess pretty well when I saw it used with an ami elsewhere)
Most places in france have the standard two pin available but we use a Schuko adaptor in Italy
now, i surely know i dont want to go for camping with my gf... hehe take care
Wise to consider the full implications!
not noticed it in previous videos - but the swinging of the camera had me motion sick by 14 minutes in.
It’s a secret camera built into my spex
I am having nightmares because of that trombone music ahhah
Am in my 50's and I know I'd struggle in a tent like that now. Which is a bit sad. Am sure there is another way to be more comfy. It must be so frustrating to be enjoying everything you have there at the site and around about, yet dread bedtime.
Yes the sleeping has to be resolved!
@@MeandMonAmi Bon courage pour la suite.
Was it a quick brown fox jumping over the lazy moon ? 😂
I think so!
The trick with an airbed is to not fill it fully. Just enough to stop you hitting the ground when lying on it. That way you form a nice hollow and are supported all around and you don't then bounce around on top. It's surprising how little pressure is needed and just a bit of experimentation is needed to find the goldilocks inflation level.
Thanks and yes the second night was way better softer (not sure Mr boo agrees!)
This is where caravans come to die 🤣😂🤣 priceless. Why did you not splash out and get one of those nice cabins?
We want to try real camping; though the cabins did look tempting. But if we are going to do long adventures they will be too expensive
Should have got aTravelodge !
Some interesting scientific safety advice. A plastic car does not provide you with a Faraday Cage in case of lightening.
A plastic car with metal frame!
@MeandMonAmi sorry, it has massive holes in it, not like a usual monocoque metal car.
Do you know that the the worst place to camp in a lightening storm, is insude the mouth of a cliff cave. Perhaps that is why neanderthal troglodytes become extinct ?
Why don't you go for an air tent? As you said in your latest video, you're not allowed to rent a camper until you have a licence for two years, buy a roomy blow-up tent(and don't go so cheap!) and two matrasses with a build-in electric pump! Those beds are a bit thicker and very comfy! There are tents for sale that look like a small house, then you'll have space to put your stuff and have room to sit when it's raining! Okay they will cost, but after two years you can sell it! (If you still want to buy a campervan!).....it is much cheaper then going on a organised trip.... 😊❤🌈
Yup we’ve been looking at some amazing blow up tents that aren’t heavy but aren’t quite out yet. The decathlon big one is too heavy for Elton’s roof
I wonder how much those titchy chalet huts were compared with a camping pitch ?
I think that double air mattress is always going to be a problem. Maybe self-inflating (ie foam filled) single mats ? It's what I use when backpacking. That campsite seems ideal for you folks in every other way.
Cheers, Dave
Yup. Thos little huts were only kitchens and bathrooms I think but I shall do some research and yes, single mattresses of the foam and air kind!
Oh we are in a Political chi show ourselves but. I Think 🤔 We will be ok Lite always prevail s 🙏
A lovely place, and who can't say tent camping makes for indelible memories? Stunning fly-over (24:45) of Saint Paul De Vence, and given your last ground-level taxi to "Tourist Hell" maybe the best way to enjoy it.
Vouloir, c’est pouvoir!
Indeed. I live the boules pitch area in Saint Paul on a sunny autumn day
You have been unlucky with the weather.
Get a tunnel tent and a decent heavy duty woven ground sheet to stick underneath the tent (Takes the lumps out of the pitch) and decent depth air beds (4").Makes all the difference to a good nights sleep.
What... £100 a day...a bit steep .. . for me in Brittany, 12 years ago, £60 a day all in, including pitch, leccy and meals (Home cooked) , petrol, EU car recovery, travel insurance and cross-channel ferries. (£800 for 14 days). And from what I can see this year, total cost for 14 days only increased. . £1100 The pitches in Brittany, on a three star site l are E25 tops per night in peak season with leccy. And the major part of the increase is pitch cost.
£100 a day for two though including all meals. If we’d cooked ourselves it would have been about £20 a day for pitch
What induced you to order a meal of raw beef in that drizzly weather? 😮😊
I love raw beef anytime!
As I said, you need to invest in a bigger tent! This one is far to small for two adult's! Two kids maybe... You need a tent that has a bit of livingspace, when it rains you've got somewhere to stay aswell! Look out for a tent with sleeping for at least three people, in that case you'll have two separate airbeds and you won't wake each other up! Those tents are really not so expensive! This is the wrong way starting camping; this way you'll hate it and never enjoy! 😊❤🌈
Yes we need bigger and two sleeping pods I think!
When is the next camping trip?
We’re hoping to head your way Italy soon!
Yeah, nahhh. 🙄😏
