Fun Fact: When we learned that Part 1 would only have 16 episodes, many thought that the cliffhanger would be at Eren's headshot. Imagine having to wait 10 months for the next episode.
I would’ve read the manga at that point, waiting for a new episode after that would honestly be impossible for me.

Yeah, I was thinking the same back then. To be honest, any moment after Pieck met Eren as a cliffhanger is brutal.
For me the saddest scene was Colt hugging Falco before he transformed, truly heartbreaking!!

Alex, “Two Brothers” is perhaps the BEST episode of Attack on Titan to date, and one of the most incredible episodes in recent TV honestly. Isayama didn’t give you time to breath. 11/10. Even as a reader myself, I am left speechless, jaws on the floor. Rest in Peace to Pyxis, Nile, Colt, & Galliard. Welcome Falco as the new Jaw Titan. I am floored. Absolutely breathtaking.

MAPPA failed to deliver it more dramatically this time for this episode. Need WIT Studio drama skill to make it more emotional there.
And im not MAPPAhater btw. I just talking about facts. Im not hating MAPPA. I know what both studios can do. WIT is very well in directing a mix of emotional animation, conversations, and the musics. Something that MAPPA can't do. MAPPA mainly focus on the action movements.
Edit: and talk about WIT, WIT doing great there directing Ousama Ranking. You guys need to check that anime. Even tho the art style is like the old western kids cartoon, but the content is for ADULTS.
And talk about directing, the current opening of Ousama Ranking(Ranking of Kings) is LIT.

This is one of those cases where the adaptation surpasses the source material. Zeke's scream, Galliard's sacrifice, Eren getting shot, the transition to Paths; this episode was filled with great moments enhanced by the visual and audio spectacle manga couldn't offer. Easily one of if not the best episode of aot so far
The animation when they were all being transformed was just gorgeous
I agree although with some dissapointment I have to say that, for example, Falco's transformation - for me - was more impactful in the manga. That second, almost blank panel focusing on just Falco and Colt hugging him evokes more brotherly love emotions as opposed to making it more about Falco and Gabi as it is done in the anime. In the anime, I think that one scene with Colt clutching Falco seems rushed, and the camera does not really focus on both of them, more so on Falco, which I think deprives the moment of its full potential as the showing of the ultimate brotherly affection.

@@theninjutsuaficionado the falco titan looks WAYYY better in the anime lol, he looks GORGEOUS in the anime ghey absolutely nailed his pure titan look, and the voice acting of colt makes the scene 10000× times more impactful and no doubt better than the manga. I am not hating on the manga, but mappa hasn't ever created a episode to this level in aot and maybe even ever. Complete masterpiece of an episode
@@theninjutsuaficionado i agree 💯. The scene with Colt and Falco kinda pissed me off, it was supposed to be more emotional, it's Colt's last moments with his brother god damn it! Aside from that, awesome episode. I specially liked the transition to Paths.
Colt's death is hitting me hard. I know he wasn't really in the picture but just like his brother, he cared so much of the people he was around and who he fought with. Then he finally died trying to protect his little brother.
Not even protecting him, he died trying to comfort him in his last moments of consciousness💔.
when he said kill all the marleyans or eldians you want but leave out my brother TT___TT like.
im kinda suprised? Maybe it's because it was a long time ago, but me who cries like a baby in such scenes, i kinda didn't even feel bad... i only thought "oh nooo..." when i heard Zeke saying "it's a shame"

@@vert2552 well I think that as they can't shake hands zeke throw the ball as a symbol to make the deal. to don't catch the ball may represent that eren don't agree. as Zeke can't know if it was accidentaly or not he maybe started to suspects of eren intentions from that moment on..
it's just my interpretation
Zeke and Eren entered the Paths realm at the same time. While Eren was being rebuilt, Zeke waited for what felt for years. According to him, during this time he learned a lot about the Founder Ymir and how things work in this realm, i.e the fact that she can build anything out of soil and the fact she obeys descendants of the Royal family like they are her masters.
Because he reached the Paths realm without being tainted by the First King's ideology (since he didn't inherit the Founding Titan, he just came in contact with it as a Titan of Royal Blood) and by spending a lot of time with the Founder, he managed to render the Vow of Pacifism powerless. It's not precised exactly how. Then, he commanded the Founder Ymir to create fake chains made out of soil in order to trick Eren when he wakes up to see his true colors.

Colt and Falco broke my heart man. Him comforting his little brother at the end while also sacrificing himself, it’s just truly heartbreaking. I love those two, they’re so pure and good.
Porco protecting gabi and falco from part 1 , gabi and falco calling reiner to save galliard shows how much he cared for them...
Nile's last moments , he wished to see his daughters and so in memory of his daughters he let falco go....
pyxis's last moments , As the commander he always chose to lead his people to victory no matter the cost from season 1 . When eren was a unknown titan shifter he let eren go reclaim trost and so in this ep He lead a suicide charge against marley...
Porco's last moments , He wanted to prove that he was worthy of the armour but instead got the jaw ...his brothers jaw ... , during his last moments he tapped into his brothers memories and saw that he was the better man ... and so in the end he did what his brother did a long time ago... protected reiner and falco.....

We waited a whole month to see what happened.
the only episode that had made me feel SO tense and euphoric before was "declaration of war" when eren does the terrorist attack on liberio in the first part, but this one oh my god, did he get over it?? I swear when he focused on gabi with the gun and the scene was in slow motion I even stopped breathing KSKJKJDKDJK and then the shot came and I FREAKED!!!!
Both Declaration of War and this episode had the same Episode Director, Teruyuki Omine. Amazing.
This episode is currently #2 on IMDBs top TV episodes and honestly? well deserved.

Eren not catching the baseball was symbolic. It was meant to be a shake on it for him and zeke, yet he didn't do it. Thats why zeke made that face, he noticed.
I just want to emphasize some details:
- Zeke's body fell exactly where Berthold made a break with his foot at the very beginning of the story, and there Eren deceived Bertholt with a crystallized copy.
- Rainer told Ehren "Kill me" when he realized that he had done a terrible thing by destroying the wall of Shiganshina, but then realized that for the sake of Falco and Gabi he had to live and fight, just as Ehren told History "Kill me" for the sins committed by his father and the murder of the children of the Reiss family, but he also realized that saving his friends and the people of Paradise is above what happened, an excellent parallel!
I think you’re a little mixed up. Bertholdt kicked in the outer gate of shinganshina in the first episode but the ruse by armin and Eren at the end of the battle in season 3 took place at the inner gate.

As a manga reader this adaptation of the episode/chapters surpassed the source material (which was awesome and beautiful) a rare thing. This is the best television of 2022 so far.
Also Zeke's baseball catching skills came to fruition 😉

You know what's sad? I didn't even remember Colt's death, in the very final battle I was sitting there reading and I thought "I haven't seen Colt in a while, I wonder what he's doing" XD

Falco only talked about his brother ONCE after he died, and it was a very small mention when he was talking to his parents.
Idk if the crying in the boat/airplane (sorry can't remember lol) was directed to his brother or just to Liberio in general, but it would be great to see him talk a bit more about him...
Everything that happens in Paths is instantaneous in the real world. Eren is alive since being able to make contact with Zeke while still barely conscious. He could theoretically regenerate with the Founders power in an instant. Let's see what happens
I think he did regenerate, just like Zeke. For people in real world it would be crazy seeing eren's head instantaneously regrow a body lol

they are doing 1.5 chapters each episode. this is the slowest pace for aot ever. (which is a good thing.)
mappa isnt cutting ANYTHING from this part, because it is the most action/crazy/stuff happening/twists of the story and they are giving it the right amount of time to let it breath.
it also tells us, that the rumored battle of heaven and earth movie is all but confirmed.
This is the same pace they’ve done for the entire series. Looking at the episode count and chapters adapted through the end of season 4 part 1, 116 chapters across 75 episodes gives the series an average of 1.54 chapters per episode. Also probably don’t want to refer to the title of the final arc seeing as this is primarily an anime only channel and we’re still a ways from that.
@@MaytrixMan your math doesnt work out. here is why:
1: season 1 - season 4 part 1 cut a f$@k ton of stuff. the first 3 episodes from season 4 part 2 not only didnt cut anything, but also added a few short anime only scenes.
2: the pace for the first 8 epsidoes of season 4 part 1 was 2-2.5 chapters per episode, just like season 3 part 2.
3: sesson 3 part 1 got cut and rearranged so hard a comparison doesnt make sense.
oh. and its just the name of a chapter. it doesnt spoil anything.
oh no ... the final movie of aot will have a "battle" in it ... what a spoiler. please ...
@@K0K0BB 116 chapters/75 episodes= 1.54 chapters/episode. It's simple division. Cuts and rearranging are expected. Sure some episodes have had more chapters than that but based on that average, that means that just as many had fewer to balance that average out to what it is. Let's say the series average has been closer to two chapters per episode. Wouldn't that mean we should be approaching chapter 160 by now? You and I both know the series ends with 139 making your proposed pace impossible.
And sure it's a title but it's a significant enough one that its just a common courtesy to leave that stuff out of threads like this for now considering we're 15+ chapters away from that point.

@@MrRirate in terms of the possibility of a movie? we dont know what theyre going to do quite yet but we do know that part 2 has twelve episodes that will end with chapter 131. That leaves chapter 132-139 for them to do... something. Movie is jus the best guess as to what will happen for the last portion but there's nothing official yet.
A clarity thing. Any of the 9 titans can see the memories of the past titan lives. We know this as Porko was able to see Ymir's memories in early S4, and Reiners memories when they came in contact this episode. We also know that Ksaver the previous Beast became the beast to research Titan Memories. Armin discusses doing this as well in a previous episode. The Founding titan discussed seeing memories in the Kenny flashback episode. The Warhammer Titan used their memories to create the play in early S4. This is enough information to assume that all of the titans have memory viewing capabilities. Falco just ate Porko so he is now the Jaw Titan.

The Attack Titan isn’t the only one to have access to past memories. All of the titan shifters have this ability. Remember Ymir had memories of Porco with Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie. And, in this episode itself, Porco remembered his brother’s memories talking to Reiner. Plus, at the beginning of the season, Reiner asked Porco if he had memories of Marco, and Porco said no, but that he (Porco) did access Ymir’s memories of Reiner trying to be everyone’s friend on Pardis.
Falco having the Jaw Titan would, likewise, have access to Ymir’s memories as a scout including using the vertical maneuvering gear. So, Falco doesn’t necessarily have to get Eren’s Attack Titan to have a past memory of flying through the air.

When they are talking in the Paths, time isn't moving in the outside world, this is why they did the freeze frame diorama at the moment the head was caught, to show this moment was "frozen" until further notice. Zeke accessed the Paths before Eren did after they connected (maybe the royal blood makes the connection easier?), so even though time hasn't passed in the real world, for Zeke it felt like years before Eren finally got there. This is also what Zeke meant about Ymir "expending countless years" to create the titans they use: every time a titan body is made, what actually happens is Ymir spends YEARS in the Paths creating the titan body alone and once it's complete it's sent to the 'real world', for us this looks like an instant process, for Ymir it might be decades or hundreds of years from her perspective just to make ONE titan, and the characters are usually summoning titans with reckless abandon

Been reading comments for this episode on 9anime, and it's filled with an absurd amount of Gabi hate, which... I literally don't understand; I mean it makes perfect sense for her to view Eren as an enemy that needs to be stopped right? She may no longer view eldian's as nothing but devil's, but eren has shown nothing but worst side of himself ever since his attack which killed two of her closest friends. I wouldn't be surprised if she felt a little sympathetic towards him if she knew more about him, but as far as she knows he's an actual danger that needs to be dealt with.
i honestly thought that for once that she'd be appreciated at least a little bit for doing a better job at choosing her enemies more carefully, but nope, they're all still insane =| blinded by the unfortunate death she brought upon Sasha, despite the fact that she and rest clearly had it coming all things considered. that's just what happens in a war against what may be a unit of devils; the death of loved ones is soon followed by vengeance, even sometimes against people that might not have been directly involved. it just... happened to be our potato girl =(

so Eren is the key.. Eren has the founder titan and zeke is the beast titan, Zeke is not bound by the war oath of the first king. because it's not he who holds the founding titan, but Eren who owns the founding titan, then Ymir is the King's slave.. he will follow what zeke says because he is the king of work but doesn't hold the founding titan ... Zeke chains eren and invites him to see go to eren's past

I actually think that the french subtitles were actually the best for ones for the screaming scene of Zeke. When he speaks to Colt, he actually tells him :"... And that's why I won't do it... Without regrets."
I actually believed for a moment that he would not do it for Falco. That way of writting it was so clever to me.

story is about tos um up... and i still love this show and believe it to be one of the grates pieces of art we got. BUT. Somehow i fail to get emotional especially at last season. I mean i do get sad for characters, some chills and i do get a little excited, but nothing compared to previous seasons or like in case of kimetsu no yaiba. I am not sure if that's because of different studio behind it, is it because of the story itself? Like there are so many sides, so many B stories you fail to feel bad for one, you kinda can't decide. There is more action than any character scenes. No Mikasa having her mafura tied around her neck.... It's simply a chaos. Even Sasha's death somehow didn't hit me as much (even hatred for Gabi's character was bigger). Like last big scene that literally gave me chills and and made me happily cry when scouts were leaving the city and 'this was first time in history people were cheering for us' with screaming Erwin... and later fight against Zeke and.... Armin )
Btw am i the only one wondering what the heck is happening with one of my fav characters Annie and why Armin didn't use his power? even like outside city as obviously before he would hurt a lot of his comrades if he changed into titian inside city
