It's a convertible and was taking up precious space in their shop on bad weather days, so they took another 10% off. That being said, I heard that in the last 2 years, it's undergone some changes. From what I heard; "Pop" got sick, and some new manager is trying to make a name for himself - in a not so good way. 😢
We have typically always had new vehicles that we would keep for 100-125 thousand miles. About the time our last payment car, a Rav4, was totalled (which we intended to keep for a long time) i started buying older cars with 100k on them and doing the repairs required. I was very intentional about what I bought. We have a Camry, an Avalon, and a buick lucerne with the 3800. These are all cars that tend to go a lot of miles and / or are fairly easy to work on. No more payments. We have 4 drivers in my house sharing the vehicles, and yes, it's a lot of work to keep them up, but, there are no payments on a $30,000+ car. I simply refuse to pay what they're asking. The only downside is the race against rot, which always is the end of cars in NE ohio but, as I told my wife, we can buy a lot of 4000-6000 dollar cars for the price of a new car.
It's not that far from Ohio to the south. Take a weekend and go to Atlanta or somewhere else in the south, hit the local FB marketplace, buy a decent car and drive it home. For the same price you can get a rust free ride that should take a few more years to melt away than the locally available stuff.

I started buying Florida cars from older people years ago. They tend to be lower miles, better cared for and less abused. By the time they start to rust they are worn out.

@nuthinbutlove That's on a level beyond insane! They're all dead from the neck up. Do they not realize that a rational person will not put that kind of money into an old vehicle? If I had eight thousand dollars, or more, I would use it as a down payment on a NEWER car with LOW miles.
@@samoz6865 insane but unfortunately true. Most people don't want to purchase used and have payments in addition to any repairs that you know will come up, even if the payments are low. Either way you're going to have repair costs... Pay full price of 8k for a high mileage vehicle and only have the cost of insurance every month, or put 8k down on a lower mileage vehicle that will inevitably need repairs in addition to payments monthly and the additional cost of insurance. Sad, but for buyers now d***ed one way or the other.
@nuthinbutlove I hear you. The last time I bought an almost new car was many years ago. I shopped smart though. I bought something reliable, and learned to do the maintenance myself. I have never had any major repairs, and I'm still driving the vehicle, which is now 26 years old and running strong. It was 3 and a half years old when I purchased it 😀

That was the most integrated creator ad I've ever seen. And for once, I actually didn't fast forward it, because it was useful, short and to the point! Other creators, take note!
Hmmm. Seeing that Jeep Patriot there in the background on your lot reminded me - the last *NEW* car we ever bought was a 2008 Jeep Patriot Sport. It had the 2.0 L I-4, CVT and manual windows, and "something tech" vinyl seats. We stroked a check for $15K OTD. It was efficient, easy to maintain, and reliable. It was just sooooo boring with that CVT. It felt like a slipping clutch when you'd get on it. Oddly enough too, it was very loud inside. Here in Texas the chip seal roads set up a low rumbling harmonic in some vehicles. Since then we only buy two-year-old lease return vehicles (cash, OTD).
Long time viewer, and I really enjoy your vids, it honestly enforces my decision to drive my car until the engine basically ceases the function (it's a 2017 Toyota, so I feel that I still have plenty of time if I keep it well maintained). But I have a question about these dealers holding firm on their current outrageous pricing. Do you feel that the manufacturers have let the dealerships know that should the tariffs increase, as they are projected to in the coming year, they (the manufacturers) have let them (the dealers) know that regardless of how interest rates, and current inventory goes, they will inevitably have to raise prices due to the sudden, further increase in manufacturing costs? Tesla, according to a quick search, seems to be the "most American car" meaning that the majority of their parts are made in the US (100% assembled in the US). However, they do still need to import certain parts from foreign countries (notably China), so even Tesla would have to increase its prices to make a profit. I don't know if the numbers I found was pre or post layoffs that cut thousands of jobs with Tesla in the US, however, would be willing to guess that unless there's a mass hiring spree to get those former workers back onto the manufacturing line, it would mean that Elon has decided to outsource even more of the parts in an attempt to save on cost. Basically, do you think that these dealers are holding firm of pricing because they have gotten a notice from the higher-ups that the next round of cars will have a higher MSRP, simply due to the increase in cost associated with tariffs? If that were the case, I can imagine that a lot of dealers (at least those who can afford it) will continue to keep prices high, hoping that the next 2025 models (at least those made after 2024) will be just as expensive, essentially forcing those who were waiting for the car market to really crash, to give into the inflated prices because the 2025 models are even more expensive?

I'm currently moving back to the US from overseas and would be willing to fly into NC to buy a car from him, then drive home to Houston. However, the hurricane season has put me off, I don't wanna end up with a flood car
Prices in the USA for cars are 25% or more higher than the same model being sold overseas. So, right off the bat the manufacturers could cut 25% off the MSRP. Also used cars are much cheaper than in the USA, I guess that is because the new ones are cheaper to start with.
I agree with what he said. It is all about the end of the year. I just bought a 24 rav4 XLE AWD for $28,000 out the door. The dealer wanted to make a deal so they could get more allocations on more popular SUVs. Find a good dealer to work with and don't be unreasonable. Lots of bad deals out there, but also a lot of good ones if you look hard enough.
There is a used car dealer on Dear Valley Rd in Phoenix Arizona that you can go by and there will be a car hauler there on the side of the Road and unloading cars they go to the garage in the rear of the lot the drivers door opens and in a little bit the car is goes back to the car hauler once all the cars are back on the hauler the hauler leaves a couple of days later because the car hauler showes up again and it starts all over again. @@Tony-yn5un Also keep in mind. It's mainly the manufactors thats the problem. (Just using this as an example.) If your a chrysler, dodge, Jeep and Ram dealership. You have to have Rams on the lot. If your buying a Ram from Stellantis for 70k. You need to sell it for more. It sucks, but it needs to happen. In reality the manufactor needs to have a 20 percent price cut across the board, but you know that won't happen. They pass it along to the dealerships, whom are forced to pass it off to the customer. (This isn't a blanket defense of dealerships. The add-on fees are complete crap for the vast majority of them.)

@@daniellaws2307 I usually buy a strong motor/ trans rusted out beast for pennies on the dollar here in michigan, then go find a pennies on the dollar blown motor/ parts gutted model of it from the south and frame swap my good stuff and keep the rest for parts and has always done me well cause then I got a really nice used car for less than 1k usually. only true cost is several days of work of my own time doing all the work.
I started buying Florida cars from older people years ago. They tend to be lower miles, better cared for and less abused. By the time they start to rust they are worn out.
@@daniellaws2307 Yup. I went to TN to buy a 18 year old Taurus for $1800. Car is immaculate underneath.
I spend about $2k every few years to keep my 2004 Malibu running well. The body is held together by Zip ties.
And your volume strategy helps many more people at a time when they may need it the most. Bless you and yours!
Truely love the videos Brandon, and love the honesty... That's why I am a subscriber to your channel. True car guys can go to your lot and know they are getting a great, honest deal..
Used car prices are Still Too Darn HIGH.
I would buy a car from you, if you were close to where I live.
I just want a cheap, reliable, commuter car. Where I live, dealerships want $8,000 and up, for ten plus year old cars, with over 150,000 and up miles.
You're lucky. Where I am they want more than 2x that price, most cars are 15 years are older and have 200,000+ miles on them.
Just horrible!
@nuthinbutlove That's on a level beyond insane! They're all dead from the neck up. Do they not realize that a rational person will not put that kind of money into an old vehicle? If I had eight thousand dollars, or more, I would use it as a down payment on a NEWER car with LOW miles.
@@samoz6865. But they can’t get a loan !
It was 3 and a half years old when I purchased it 😀
I am going to buy a clean Sienna from you someday! Love the value you offer us!
Let the new cars become junk. Most people don’t need them. I still see quite a number of newer vehicles on the road.
Unfortunately with the planned tariffs, car prices will go up.
But a funny thing is Japan has had a 100% tariff on ALL NEW US MADE VEHICLES brought into the country since at least the 1960's (something I learned in Social Studies and Business.)
@@MrTommyboy68 That was back in 87 during Reagan. Today it is only about 2.5% except on trucks which is higher.
@@phillipist Nope in the 60's Japan had a 100% tariff on ALL AMERICAN CARS brought into Japan. Again, I learned this in Social Studies and Business classes. And we discussed why that was and the protectionism of Japanese products.
Maybe not. Many times the manufacturer will decrease their wholesale price to eliminate some of that tariff
@@davejohnson5029 Bwahahahahahahaha. Thank you. I needed a good laugh today.
Since then we only buy two-year-old lease return vehicles (cash, OTD).
more dealers don't want to work as hard as your people do. Your example brings out the best of them.
Not over on Copart, those foreign Countries are running up the prices like crazy
Thanks for the info.
Great vid. Love the breakdown. Customers will flock to your honest evaluations. I don't believe their are honest salesmen, but damn you make it tough to hold the view.
Keep up the good work and always appreciate the constructive criticisms. Again, great vid.
Must be a stressful time to be in car sales. Probably have to have a jingle in your pocket(and I don't mean coins). Especially nerve racking of you're in a position where you can't just walk away and get a new job.
Love how this dude sells cars himself talking about it’s over😂
I would never buy a new car.
See what happens when greedy monopolies aren't held accountable for mis-spending/ lining their pockets? History repeats itself 🤷🏻♂️ ' we're struggling, and need another bailout!!' I say let the big car companies fail!
As a former car salesman, it's true. It's tough to compete against Santa Clause but not impossible. You just work a little harder this time of year or at the very least schedule your vacation during December!
The End is Near. Preach it brother.
I've been watching your videos for months now and you strike me as being totally honest and trustworthy ! Do you get many cars brought back with problems and how relaxed are you about fixing them at your expense ? Northumberland, England
Sounds like when real estate agents call a market either a buyer or seller market when in reality there is a buyer for every seller and vice Versa.
That reality is a bit of a meaningless truism, it ignores buy or sale offers for which there is no corresponding seller/buyer.
Make an offer and get a dirty look, but no harm in trying.
thank you. You always give right picture of the market. Also happy thanksgiving to you and your team.
What happened to "EVs on ICE"? We need an update. 😉
Good video, I decided to keep my extra car and truck I had posted after watching videos on the market right now. Cheaper to pay for insurance than dealing with car hunting if one of my main vehicles gets totaled.
Are you seeing a bunch of flood damage totaled titles on the car you’re buying or looking at at the auction from the flood damage?
Most of the flood cars that have been selling are certificate of destruction and a lot are being sold over seas
I'm currently moving back to the US from overseas and would be willing to fly into NC to buy a car from him, then drive home to Houston. However, the hurricane season has put me off, I don't wanna end up with a flood car

Thank you for your honesty!
That mechanic can send you broke, look after him. You will not ever do what ever he does. You have clean hands who needs the best rewards for work.
Thank you!
Where exactly is your car lot? Are those cars trustworthy enough to drive a couple states home?
Prices in the USA for cars are 25% or more higher than the same model being sold overseas. So, right off the bat the manufacturers could cut 25% off the MSRP. Also used cars are much cheaper than in the USA, I guess that is because the new ones are cheaper to start with.
Emissions and certain other requirements have to be kept in the US. Overseas, not so much.
Like the videos where you talk about your dealer. Better videos you talk about your inventory ect
What is your policy if a car breaks down just after someone buys it???
Depends if it had a 30 day warranty or was listed AS IS.
@@NoName-zq6icthere are no warranties at his dealership
There is a used car dealer on Dear Valley Rd in Phoenix Arizona that you can go by and there will be a car hauler there on the side of the Road and unloading cars they go to the garage in the rear of the lot the drivers door opens and in a little bit the car is goes back to the car hauler once all the cars are back on the hauler the hauler leaves a couple of days later because the car hauler showes up again and it starts all over again. They even are in turning back speedometers on the cars and trucks
Dealers would rather sit on a car for 6 months then lower their prices. Greedy MFers.
A lot of them pay too much
Can’t lower prices because they are buried between floor plans and overpaying
@@Tony-yn5un Theyll rather take it to auction and lose 3000 then give the customer a 2000 discount. Theyre trying to save the market.

When will be a good time to shop for a newer preowned vehicle in the spring time?
I researched your scanner and it has a lot of features for the $. Thanks for the 411.

In northeast PA. where I live the price of cars are still sky high.
Same here in BFE Montana. Ford isn't selling squat and their lots are full to overflowing. AND they have 3 2023's with major lot rot.
Used car dealers aren't moving much either (judging from the temp plates which are almost like hen's teeth.) Lithia is having problems. Subaru is the only dealer I see selling ANYTHING.
I’m in Northeast Ohio, and the price of cars is fantastic right now

4500 cash for a 1000 dollar pos, is still to much. once everyones credit is crapped out who ya gonna sell to. dollar down dollar a day. ruined the country.
With the price tag on new cars, heck even the price tag on vehicles only a few years old is off the charts - I don't know how the everyday person can afford a $500.00, or $600.00 car payment! I have 2 cars that are paid off and there's no way I will trade them in, I'm thinking about buying a 3rd vehicle just for back up!
You're right Brandon for the most part, but you need to get some new presentations and issues about cars to talk about! And PS, the scan tool you're right about for the most part ,but for a Tesla that isn't going to be feasible . Did you know you have to go to the dealer , because Tesla doesn't share software information. And to get access to some other car brands database you have to pay, depending on how long you want to access them Brandon!
Young people should be buying these cars instead of having $700 car payments for 6 years. Too many people derive their sepf esteem and age from external material goods like cars. Really they are just indebt with those car notes
my step kid refuses to go near a new car after their friend told them how much an alternator on their nissan cost to replace. My kiddo was like "I can get an entirely new crate motor for mine for that price!" she wants a welder for christmas cause I taught her how to do the floor pans and body work on my ranger just before the cold weather moved in. She learned quick over the last 4 years why I refuse to let my old trucks die.

We are looking at a used Mazda cx-9. What's your thoughts on those cars?
depending on what year, there is a big classaction going against mazda for the 19-24 models due to engine failures. brake boosters on them are garbage too. if you want one, stick to as close to the 2007 model as ya can.
Hi, good channel! Why is it that you buy a car at auction that might need transmission? Can't you drive around a parking lot enough to tell that there is transmission problem or needs needs inside motor work?
You should list the year and mileage. It really helps your viewers.
If I still lived in Salisbury NC I would check out what cars you have to sell. Not sure where you are but chances are you ain’t far from there.
Where are you located? What is the name of your dealership? A huge problem in that industry also is that high mileage cars are not reliable. If a problem with the car comes up most people cant afford to fix it.
Nothing is crashing.
