That was in the back of my mind, and one of the main reasons I kept it as two parts (storage being another). It can be used as two mountains for warhammer or s spooky valley in some underdark campaign.
Dude....I really liked how the ink flowed and just gave it a natural flow. And I was watching that and realizing if you used oranges and reds, you could make that into an amazing desert scene, too!
Bro!!! You sound just Like Dan Soder. Great Work! I want to get into Dioramas for my 1/18 scale figures. These Terrain building vids like yours get my Creative juices flowing!
@@Chaos_Crafting Usually center around JoyToy and Hiya Toys Action Figures. Soldiers, Alien and Predators. Your Videos are great keep up the good work. ^_^
@@Chaos_Crafting Not yet but Id love to try. I have a small apartment so its rough. for now, I just review 1/18 scale figures and show off some minor customs. BUT an Alien hive is apart of what I wanna do along with a Jungle back drop for my predator collection.
I am new to the terrain building scene, and i have to say, this video helped me out immensely! I have taken on a huge project for my gaming group, of building all the terrain for DCC's sailors on the Starless sea, and was having huge trouble on how to build the underground mountain at the end. This gave me hope, that it wasn't going to be as daunting as i was making it out to be. Thanks!!!
Makes me happy! I'm glad my project can help someone else. Feel free to ask questions or if you need assistance. I would love to see some pictures, you can tag me on Instagram @chaos.crafting.grumpy.dad
I love the build!!!! One suggestion. Sculptamold is an amazing product for making extremely quick and realistic rock texture. If you want to upgrade the quality, however you already got a good thing going! Keep it up!
I'm a Rail Road Modeler, and I have a lot of XPF scenery similar to your build, but a lot more. I have a color of Latex paint I want to use, It's house latex paint and I want to mix it with Mod Podge to create my base coat, Can I mix it with latex paint? Great video!
I have heard that mod podge and latex paint react together and never dry fully. I have never tried it myself, be bet would be to try a small test on a scrap of the foam. I have always used acrylic paint with the mod podge and sealed it with minwax spray varnish. Thanks for the comment!
I usually put down a layer of parchment paper when I'm applying sand or flocking. This SIGNIFICANTLY reduces mess. Just funnel the excess back into your bin.
Not a crazy question at all. My workbench is a splurge. For years I used a wobbly Ikea table. Eventually the wobble got to me and I invested in a Husky 62" height adjustable workbench with 2 large flat drawers. It was not cheep. I spend hours in my hobby space... I felt the expense was worth it.
Dude! AWESOME!
I do these and yours is so so awesome fantastic work
Great video. Easy to follow. Well done!
Thanks Skip, I appreciate the feedback
Wow! You do achieve an amazing amount of depth. It really is impressive. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. Positive vibes make me motivated to do more =)
Turned out great! Gotta love epic sized pieces, especially when they'll get multiple uses

Amazing build!!! And I love the commentary!!!!!
Thanks Cerise! This aspect of the hobby is far outside my comfort zone. I tend to be an introvert. I appreciate the words of encouragement.

Hey Jack! Yep, I plan on some desert scenes in the future. I want to make a landscape like the Vasquez rocks.
im really enjoying your videos, its inspiring me to do more
Glad to hear =) got any pics of what you do?
@@Chaos_Crafting i have a few for a set of ruins im doing
Looking good, I like the colour modulation. Maybe some muted green wash for mildew will also add to the feel and look.
I agree, it needs some additional color. I will be adding some moss, grass, vines to give it a pop of color.

I had to look up Dan Soder, and damn... hw and I do share similar vocalizations. What kind of 1/18 scale figures do you do?

holy crap! that is a large scale. Do you do dioramas that large? I bet a 1/18th scale Alien hive would be cool.

Wow, ya that looks like it could make a great layer of texture on a foam frame. I will have to try that material. Thank for the tip.

Hello teacher. I enjoyed the video. What are you painting at 7 minutes and 39 seconds?
Un-sanded grout, but wall spackle also works. I used what I had on hand.
Outstanding
