I am beyond flattered to be given such a prominent shout-out! Your videos have been a huge influence on me and are always so inspiring. I found it really interesting to hear you talk in this video about how your style is usually to measure and plan everything. I am quite the opposite. I usually just hold things up and see if they look right before glueing them down. Incorporating your method of precise cuts, measurement and scratch-building with chipboard really made me feel like i can build anything and elevated my craftsmanship. If my improvisational style can offer some inspiration to you, one of my hobby heroes, that is so cool!
I originally found your Channel via this one, I was super Blown Away by the two different strategies you guys used to build stuff. I have learned so much and I'm so grateful that you guys produce content. Thank you very much
So cool you called out Eric. Been following him for about 2 weeks now as TH-cam recommended his channel with "Wyloch's Armory viewers also watch" Been using the Vallejo Rust Texture, Streaking Grime, Slimy Grime Light and Dark on my Death Guard such great paints for weathering those nasty models. Another awesome build, love your ascetic on your Sci-Fi terrain.
"My wife loves these drinks that come in a tall can. So, I asked her to set aside 8 of them." ....Drinks 7 truly's and a Dasani to beat the hangover with hydration....
When the small walkway was placed between the tanks and fit perfectly... Damn thats precision and looks way better than on top. Loved the self awareness. Great build. Now put some numbers on those tanks and it'll be perfection.
Erick’s stuff is very good. It’s great to see his industrial imagery with your precision. I would love to see more industrial crafts from you and Erick. I’m not a war gamer but I use a lot of this on my 1/12 scale action figure dios. Do more! Please!!!
I've just recently gotten into this hobby. The mathematical way you approach your builds is awesome. Its helped me keep going when I get discouraged by other crafters who are great but more spur of the moment.
Woah, fancy intro! Love seeing your models on the terrain at the end. Really pulls everything together and reminds me of the pictures of games you'd see in the Warhammer rulebooks I had growing up. Yours is probably my favorite crafting youtube (maybe tied with Miscast Terrain) so I'm happy to see you posting again! (I have a WIP sector mechanicus set done following your instructions. I've gotten 18 towers built and now just need to build the walkways and connectors and paint it all)
@@FrankyDCrafter Thanks bud. We'll collab some time! I try to fulfill my mission statement of helping other channels grow, like in this one with EHW. Your time will come as soon as we find the right synergy.
I'm really like the idea of an a promethium extractor deployable from sky or ship (like the most part of imperium asthetics) and with that in mind you can build it much modular and minimalistic like you do, I will probably try this with my old "logo boinicle canisters" (they look so very scify) and with old parts of hotwheels ramps and stuff
Loved the little story intro, and cripes with all these massive builds I don't think you'll ever have a boring table. The walkways look very slick and it'd be interesting to see more of those girders in future builds, they look really cool~
Great build! Really glad to see Eric's Hobby Workshop getting attention, for someone just starting out on TH-cam he's got great videos, and his crafting is top notch, always learn a lot!
Great build. I couldn't help but think "the spice must flow" while watching. The unintended anti-fly zone feature is great. I love making obstacles for different model types.
I am digging through your backlogs of content. Always amazing. But!! I am over the moon over your paint water cup! I have two of the Hardee’s rise and shine coffee mugs found thrifting. I count them as treasures and love drinking out of them. Reminds me of being a kid. (I use a cheesy Hawaii souvenir mug I found thrifting as my paint water cup.) anyway…amazing build and delivery as always and keep kicking arse!
Great terrain piece. Would love to see you convert a Mechanicus or Ash Waste tanker that would come collect the liquid pumped up by the rig. Thanks for all the videos.
Hey Bill, great build, you've had a good/flowing day, with luck filling your sails. I've gotta turn my craft to DIY to patch up the bathroom after alterations have made a real mess, so duh, nothings running smooth! Those walkways are EXCELLENT the girders...DOUBLY so. If you wanted higher vantage points [you were right to abandon those grates on the top, btw] you'd need to do a secong level of walkways with connecting ladders...cool; but aLOT more work!
Nice foray into a new type of grimdark weathering. If I had one piece of feedback it would be to blend or draw-out the runs of the various washes so that they don't form large, distinct streaks that are out-of-scale (aka, real-life human-size drips). Also, you know I love to see a gun in a build :P This is a really great project!
If I may, I would like to suggest you make a small addition, perhaps as a floating piece of terrain to go with this magnificent project, that being ladders or a set of stairs for the Marines, Termies, Guard or what-have-you to gain access to the catwalks around the tanks. Love this project and I am going to look up those toy pips online as I have been searching cheap toy products to use as a good proxy for pipes. Congrats on breaking through a paradigm with this project. I hope it leads to more amazing crafts from you in the future for us to enjoy watching and trying.
Great to hear your stepping out of your comfort zone. You might see crafting with a different way. No boundaries. Brilliant build I don't even play warhammer but very cool build!
So nice seeing this. I used to do this around my 20's did some Space Wolfs and those little pesky goblins, i believe they were called like that. I tend to had a tick not finishing them and spend to much time on them. Still the box with half-complete models. SUper cool how you made a toy looking like something badass. hahahah adding washings like its nothing.
PS i remember having paint from Warhammer itself, is this different torso? I also noticed that washer was way thicker then i can remember. I remember always having a war with it because it was so thin.
This build is probably one of my faves of yours, and that's saying alot b/c I dont normally limit/commit myself to "faves". I'm a mechanical drafter, so completely get living by the ruler and plans. Just OUTSTANDING results and well well done!!! Working on my first futuristic/sci fi build right now so this vid is perfect timing. Stay safe out there and Happy Easter!
I really enjoyed this video. The intro was fun, good setup for the narrative. The way you did the faded blue on the drill housing makes me want to try it out on a tank or a dreadnaught's armour. I think that would work really well too :)
Excellent build and very imaginative! This is certainly one of my favorite builds you have done. I am subscribed to Eric;s Workshop and he does make a lot of fantastic terrain models. Thanks for making this tutorial.
Another Great video. I borrowed several of your ideas. Thanks. Your terrain would be perfect for Skirmish games like Galactic Heroes also. My go to small game now.
I've built so many of Wyloch's projects for my own table that it's weird to see the overview shots at the end of these videos. I keep thinking, I have that, I have that, I built that.
I've been slowly building out a mining planet terrain board (incorporating your lava terrain guide too), and I am very tempted to try my hand at this one too! Great work, as always!
This is a beautiful build and the first one I have seen where I really want to make my own, however, I think I'll start with something smaller for my first project aha
I've not committed to building much Sci/fi as yet as I'm very much fantasy orientated. but I've seen Eric's and now the stuff you've been doing recently and I may find a project to dip my toe in the water.
Damn that thang came out good, reaching your zenith. It's funny that I found Bard's channel and then you mentioned him now a month ago or so I found Eric's channel and you just mentioned him. It's like we're on the same trail.
Watching me build a vehicle would drive you nuts. "Where's your plan?" "Oh right there on that post it note, see I got the overall shape right there." "But what about all those pieces you're adding?" "Oh well I use some similar shapes and design elements so it looks cohesive, but I just sorta put them where it feels right. See this? It now lives...*hand wanders around, model gets turned over a couple times*.... Here!"
Very cool structure, and thanks for the recommendation of another crafting channel to check out. Would go really well with your other industrial terrain!
More awesomeness! .. Y'no I've used Vallejo products for years and have been eying up the effects .. I bought a few (snow and mud) which were really good, but wasn't too sure on the oil and grease effects types as I've been using enamel for those. After seeing what you managed to achieve with them in this model though think I'll have to invest ... Hope you and your family are staying safe ... Stay indoors! .. - Thanks for another awesome video :D
This looks fantastic! My only constructive criticism would be: stencil spray some warning signs on the silos and detail on them. I would of been temped to make the top of the drill thicker connecting onto the pipes. Apart from that this is fantastic. You're giving me some ideas on making stuff.
Awesome! Love this piece. I’d definitely add ladders for access to the walkways. For realism and (some) games need them for movement. I particularly like the tall cans. I tend not to use things like pop cams due to easily recognizing them as day to day items. You made them look different enough it was hard to tell! The tall skinny shape helps too I think.
This looks so amazing! I love the griminess of those Vallejo washes. Your minis look great too! I don't know how you paint them so fast. Takes me forever! Lol
Damn! I love this, I love Ideas like this! Make something out of nothing!!/ Or salvaging Trash to TREASURE! this IS AMAZING MAN!! Love Your Work,Also I watch Eric, I love how your guys throw stuff together, I do this as well with my Own Fairy Houses, but have not as yet been able to get myself a YOU TUBE channel! I’m enjoying this meeting of the Mutual Admiration Society of TH-cam Crafters.

Thx!
Very nicely done for sure.

Love this industrial stuff, with the grating and the pipes and the rust. Great stuff. :)
Outstanding, Bill. I can't wait to see a Battle Report with this structure used.
It also makes a pretty good distillery/brewery!
"But I won't!" lol Loved it!
Haha.. rust effects time

"... And I should quit wile I'm ahead, BUT I WON'T!"
I have destroyed elegantly simple projects with those words, I am glad yours trund out so well.
Phenomenal! Added this to the many other videos of yours in my library.
You're very well spoken and direct in what you say and it makes for some great viewing. Thanks for the video.

Try a natural sea sponge for stippling. Greater coverage, quicker and you only need a little one.
How are you not over 100 k subs with what you have been putting out!!!!
To be very blunt, I have no idea.

Wow! The Extractor looks friggin' awesome!
This seems like it would merge well with the promethium pipes build.
Very nice project,,,, I agree with you “if it feels right, go with it” 👍

Wyloch's crafting philosophy : if it's cheap it is good, if it's laying in the recycling bin it's even better!

When you do the "add ons" maybe a drill control station ? If it was a modular piece it be stand alone or added to other pieces.
Wyloch, as a home brewer I could see this included in a D&D game with a Brewery mission or similar mission/location

Hey could you possibly do a cheap guide on how to make a big rock drill kinda like the genestealer terrain piece?
That's on my in-progress shelf, but here's my secret ingredient: a seashell. The cone-shaped kind. For the drill itself.
Wyloch's Armory OOOOOOOHH, ill see if I can get a hold of one of those on my next shopping run

Great work! Have to say though, not a criticism, but it doesn’t look like a drill to me. Looks like a distillery. Still love it.
Fantastic work as always! I have to admit, I'm curious to see how you go about something like computer screens and terminals now~
