Hey Patric, is it a good idea to incorporate some of the legitimate tests for personality (Big 5, 16personalities, gallup), as well as general QI test from Mensa, when you consider partnering up with someone on a start-up? So that you can analyze the particular psyche and how it can potentially work out between you, prior to engaging into a partnership?

So true Shawn King! The value this channel, Patrick & the Valuetainment team put out is just invaluable! There is a reason there are so few successful people. You are what you surround yourself with right? In any case, this just means we have such an opportunity right now when not many other people are thinking big! Let's make the most of it =)!

What I love about Valuetainment is that there is no episode 1-227 on the concepts. A lot of other channels have that structure and it makes it daunting to watch something thinking "what did I miss before episode 34 etc" Valuetainment is great, all things are relevant no matter where you are in business whether you are a millionaire, startup or wannabe. 👌🏽

I absolutely cannot stand business partners lying. You know at some point people will just screw you over. For instance, being on dishonest about the quality of a deliverable, that's a dead ringer they're going to do it again and maybe even worse. People moving behind your back, big red flag. Tell em what you think of it, and cut ties. It will hurt for a while, because you'll need to replace them with better people, which takes time and effort, but you'll be better off in the end.

You can spend all that time and still get it wrong, shitty people are master foolers. There are two types of people. Honorable, honest, loyal, hard working, dedicated, curious, selfless, abundant and smart.... and then you have the shitty people who are the opposite of all that.

Curious what your thoughts are on establishing a value point when buying into a company as a partner. For example if I’m buying into a company for 30% and the economies on a bit of a downturn so the top line has decreased, but it’s been strong for let’s say 10 years prior, Now I’m coming on board to do marketing and sales and improve the brand and get more widgets out the door. Let’s say the top line starts increasing again and I want to earn more of this business toward becoming an equal partner. I am investing a substantial amount and want to make sure I cover all these bases upfront. What are your thoughts?

    Hi Patrick, greetings from Brazil.
Before my question I'd like to congratulate you and your team for all the content that you provide, it have been so helpful for me, mainly now that I am at the initiation step of my new startup that I am about to implement now in 2017. Just to clear up a little bit, in few words my business is about providing for Brazilian English learners, the closest experience of having a student exchange program but without leaving the country. My expertises are at Marketing and Sales, besides being a former English teacher. As I told I am between initiation and implementation fase, so all the development until now was made by myself (Branding, Business Plan, strategies etc.) There are 2 people, also former teachers (they are siblings by the way), that are interested in joining the business to be responsible one for the Administration/ Financial part and the other to deal direct with the educational part, run the activities etc. There won’t be big investments at the beginning, so I am considering more what skills each one will bring into business and the roles that each one will play. They have very good experience as teachers but the way I see I am the person with more experience running a business and the one who can scale the business and take it to another level. So the question is. What parameters and recommendations that you can tell me regarding about the percentage of equity when you get someone into your business in a situation like mine? Thanks a lot, and I wish for all the VALUETAINMENT Staff a wonderful 2017 full of light and achievements.
    Gustavo Scarlassara
