I appreciate that they didn't have Ray reciprocate any flirty or romantic feelings towards the 2 younger girls. (The cheek kiss at the end always felt innocent to me. Like, big brother energy)
plus they were delulu for thinking that they had a chance with Raymond and initially told Aquamarine to pick someone else. They were 13 so they were too young for him, but I think it’s normal to have a little crush on older men at that age even though they wouldn’t have a chance
The movie was filmed in Australia. The only American actors are Emma Roberts( Claire ), JoJo ( Hailey ),Sara Paxton ( Aquqmarine ), Jake McDorman ( Raymond ), & Arielle Kebbel ( Cecillia ). All of the other actors in the movie are Aussies speaking with American accents.
@@aly_the_mystic888In most movies or tv shows they don't actually film in the place it's based in. A lot of American tv shows & movies are actually filmed in Canada. You have no idea how excited I was to actually recognize one of the Australian actors. Thank goodness I’m obsessed with mermaids and Legend of the Seeker. lol. Bruce Spence is one of the best actors!
@RabbitsFunWorld I love anything that has to do with water. I love Namor and Aquaman. I love mermaids and mermen too. I also love anything with pirates, hence Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and a show on Starz called "Black Sails". I have both of those on blu ray.
I like how the scene with Leonard set up what he already knew. While not suspicious to us, the scale and the necklace led him to the book he read already about mermaids. That was a nice writing touch. And am glad he was the one to rescue Aquamarine and keep her secret too. And she was the one that suggested the wish. He didn’t ask. She just wanted to push two potential lovebirds together and repay the favor. That was sweet.
The fact Maria knows H2O soothes me. Whenever I reference it to anyone they never know it 😩 the spin-off show Mako Mermaids was a lot more like this movie and Splash. Mermaids get chucked out of their pod and have to learn to live on land and not expose themselves. But it’s still around Mako Island.
This movie fueled my love of mermaids, even more than The Little Mermaid did. I REALLY love the trio of Sara Paxton, Emma Roberts and Joanna "JoJo" Levesque, and the tails Sara wore are GORGEOUS

Aquamarine was a really great movie and it was fun to be a child at the time. Fun fact: the movie was filmed in Australia. My first introduction to Emma Roberts until Nancy Drew. JoJo was one of the icon in the 2000's. Sara Paxton is a great actress and realized that it was her in that 4th Halloweentown movie when was was an unfortunate replacement to the original actress of her character Kimberly J Brown. Lastly, ever since I was 18 I do the hand movements Raymond does after when he likes a girl.
There’s a Hans Christian Andersen quote in The Little Mermaid where he says that “a mermaid has no tears, therefore she suffers so much more” That’s kinda mirrored when Aqua cries for the first time
I guess I need to read more of Alice’s books. I remember not liking her work on Aquamarine, considering she kept her tail even out of water throughout the entire book. I was at least happy to find out she was involved in making the movie.

Maybe the confusion with Australia comes from the Australian mermaid show H2O just add water and it's sequel mako mermaids, that might be where it's coming from because this movie is also about a mermaid, it could also be because Emma Roberts was also in a show called lightning point which did take place in Australia with Australian actors and lightning point was very similar to things like mako mermaids and H2O, so that could be where it comes from. The mermaid in this movie is American though, she's been in a lot of other movies and TV shows, she's pretty popular. I get that it’s supposed to be a sweet moment when Hailey wants to give up the dream of not moving but constantly moving your kid all over the world for work is just not ok. The kid has to start over again & again with school & friends while you’re trying to save the planet. Like pick a new career or don’t have kids. Kids should be in stable household not constantly moving around the world. It’s not just new house same city or a new city. They literally said they were in Boston then came to Florida now going to Australia that’s a lot
I have this on bluray. I have a large and schizophrenic movie/TV collection. Wikipedia: Water towers are able to supply water even during power outages, because they rely on hydrostatic pressure produced by elevation of water (due to gravity) to push the water into domestic and industrial water distribution systems; however, they cannot supply the water for a long time without power, because a pump is typically required to refill the tower. A water tower also serves as a reservoir to help with water needs during peak usage times. The water level in the tower typically falls during the peak usage hours of the day, and then a pump fills it back up during the night. This process also keeps the water from freezing in cold weather, since the tower is constantly being drained and refilled. I can't remember if I knew Dichen was Australian. I've seen her in a few things including Joss Whedon's Dollhouse. I can't remember what accent she used. Holiday in the Sun using Island in the Sun was a big deal for the twins as it was the first song by a major artist they could afford to license. For the life of me, I can't remember why I know this. The pilot from Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior didn't find a piece of jewelry in the pool but one of her scales.
I appreciate that they didn't have Ray reciprocate any flirty or romantic feelings towards the 2 younger girls. (The cheek kiss at the end always felt innocent to me. Like, big brother energy)

Such a fun film! I always found it hilarious that one is moving to Australia but they also filmed here so there's so many Aussie actors😂

25:46 did anyone else notice during the paddle board scene Aqua’s hair is just blonde no blue in it? I wonder what happened that day on set. Y remove it? Or not put in the extensions?
Ha, didn’t notice that 😄 - Maria
Aqua can’t just wear their clothes because then we couldn’t have the 2000s rom com shopping montage 😂 they’re compulsory
Absolutely 😄 - Maria
Who didn’t have a crush on Raymond
Thank you for liking my comment, sam and Maria
I rewatched this maybe a year ago and didn’t realize how bad it was, I will definitely never watch again. A good movie you should react to is Ice Princess 🎉🎉🎉
Really? What was it that made you think that?
We have looked into Ice Princess and it’s something to consider 😊👌🏻 - Maria
@@samandmariachannel i think some parts were cringe 😬 as a kid I didn’t care but now it’s weird haha like the acting and idk I’m picky 😁 YAAYYYY IM SO HAPPY YOURE CONSIDERING IT💜🩷🤍Also write down Monte Carlo and You Again 📝 🙏🏼 👀
I got this Movie mix upwith just add water
Have you guys seen van helsing 2004 it’s so fun
We have seen it and we have a video for it 😄👍🏻 - Maria
Is it just me or the ad libs here and there are kinda off?
I get that it’s supposed to be a sweet moment when Hailey wants to give up the dream of not moving but constantly moving your kid all over the world for work is just not ok. The kid has to start over again & again with school & friends while you’re trying to save the planet. Like pick a new career or don’t have kids. Kids should be in stable household not constantly moving around the world. It’s not just new house same city or a new city. They literally said they were in Boston then came to Florida now going to Australia that’s a lot
I❤This Movie It Have Actress(Arielle K.)From Vampire Diaries A Shows I Really ❤! I Read The Books Also!🫣😵💫🥰🙆🏻♀️🧜♀️🖥🎛💝
That’s what I know her from as well 😄 - Maria
