Always beautiful to watch Test cricket in England everything seems good the pitch weather and fans. West Indies showed a good fightback and hopefully they will show some more charcter in the final Test match.

“The West Indies team is a true joy to watch” really, I see horrible, useless, no joy to watch, earrings in the ears, chains around the neck, show men naturally not all but quite depressing to watch as far as I’m concerned. The second innings, they just fell apart totally from bowling to batting, I had to switch off couldn’t look anymore.

As an old geezer, I really like Bashir's orthodox off spin. All he needs to do is bowl round the wicket, passing between the stumps and the umpire to the left-hander, and my trip down memory lane will be complete.

When you get a good wicket in an English test match it's one of the best things in cricket, you get everything big innings, a bit of movement for the seamers, enough in the wicket for the quick and as the match and wicket progress you get plenty for a spinner, good crowds setting sun and a brilliant end to a test.... Don't agree one innings don't win test matches Wi was very disappointing cannot be relied on. They are so inconsistent. Their five top order batsmen got out to poor shot selection and their foot is not moving is like they have arthritis in a them knee they either stand up straight and swing the bat or play back when they should be forward and out lbw. They should not be paid as they are not committed to the game.The ones that are not performing should be dropped.I am hoping to see drastic changes for the next test.

They had no chance to win this this pitch was dry and I knew the Bashir guy will nail it in 2nd innings if they had target of some 250 they had win but this bowling line up without roach is not that good shamar pace from 90mph drops to 80mph he is bowling like holder in both matches needs to be dropped in next one seales is very good bowler in these conditions he showed it and alzarri has lots of talend but couldn't replicate it when he is on song it's treat to watch but it's not so often his economy is 3.67 the worst ever in test cricket

Every side in international cricket bar Bangladesh and Zimbabwe have dominated test cricket at some point. You can't always look back on one golden period during one decade. I was alive during the Viv Richards era, and they're a long long way from finding a set of bowlers like they found then. They must be there so it's obviously due to the development or lack of support in the game there.

Ive heard it said the young generations in the Caribbean after the 80s got American TV and decided baseball or basketball paid better than cricket. How true that is I dont know.
I watched all the dismissals and to tell you the truth none could get one of our even say 90s players. 2nd inns no one want to bat for long an stay at the wicket. Smh 😢

I hope they fulfil their promise, it has been too long without a top flight West Indies team. Cricket is best when two good teams play.

This means they may get another 2 maybe 3 years out of him before he starts struggling.... recall Mayers who announced his arrival with a double ton in his first test at age 28. After that he started to score less and is now not even under consideration for tests (but has found his niche in ODI and T20). Holder is already into his 30s and is not as productive with the bat or ball as before...as evidenced in this match he does not even apply his vast experience to the benefit of the team. Skipper Brathwaite is also getting up there in age and has been very inconsistent with the bat in recent years. Plus his captaincy does not appear to show innovation or deep thought as we see from other more successful captains.

Two production gripes - is it necessary to to caption the result in the video title? I hadn't watched the match nor heard the result so it spoiled it for me. A few replays of wickets wouldn't go amiss either.
WI need to be patient and consistent with the game.. they rushing it. Thats why they not dominating it. They have a great team

Shoaib Bashir is being prepared for the ashes where he'll hold one end up and bowl long spells.. he's surely a good find... Pace is nicely varied as well.
I agree. He’ll have to get used to being hit more by the Aussies, but if he keeps this up, he could be a very, very good world class bowler. What a find. Brooks, Bashir and hopefully Atkinson and Smith: the future is looking good for England.

@@Sasaifalikhan144 sorry but Bashir plays for Somerset. He was released from Surrey when he was in the U17s. Silly really as I think Surrey are going to regret that in the not to distant future.
They lost today in a way that must feel very disappointing, but there is lots to admire about this inexperienced Windies team. Their sportsmanship, for example. Look at the way several of their players made a point of congratulating Joe Root after his dismissal. That was/is good to see!

Atkinson and Bashir absolutely superb. Imo, when it comes to the next decade, England has the best bowlers in the world in all three formats. The past three years we’ve seen Bashir, Atkinson, Hartley, Tongue, Ahmed, Ecclestone, Bell, Gaur, Glenn, Filer, Dean and Wong all shine. Loads more in the various set ups too.

Mark Butcher is such an excellent Test match commentator. In the early parts of the highlights, it sounds like he's alone. He has a soothing voice hahaha.
Great performance from England and some meaty batting from Windies towards the end - but not enough to hold out, Bashir bowling very well to cap off a top test :)

Considering the way the WI batters fought back in the first innings, everybody expected them to show some character in the 2nd innings as well and though the opening partnership was flourishing, Bashir ran through the WI middle order like anything. We didn't see that coming 🐚
