Anyone else annoyed at Gwen when she tells Scrags that he doesn't know what real loss is? Like, I know it's her character and everything, still pisses me off. She was THERE! She saw how close Scrags and Cluebert where and still had the balls to say that. It just urks me a lot, okay?
Paige Kitchener Eh, looking at it from the other angle, between the two of them, Scrags was fine with his lot continuing to be a detective/something along the lines of their time in the squad, while Gwen hasn’t been able to escape it. Similar to how Scrags was hesitating at the start to take the case; anything besides it would have been fine, so he took issue with it. From her POV, he’s waltzing in even remotely having his mess together while based on the phone call, even with a husband, children, and being an author, Gwen’s stir-crazy.

She was a (well-known) detective with the Solve It Squad. She played a cop and a doctor in a TV show. Nobody remembered the doctor because playing a cop is similar to being a detective. She is upset because she’s trying to escape the mystery world.
It's kinda based off the trope of crime TV shoes where a cop has to team up with X to solve crime, such as a mystery author, or a taxi driver. In this case the team up character is a doctor who helps solve crime.
Funny how Gwen says boys, yet she has only one son and one daughter, granted this would have been considered as a piglet but as someone who has watched the episodes of Solve or squad: Back in Biz, that was a big change.
