Back in the mid 60s, the local Lincoln-Mercury dealer about a 1/4 mile from my house often had several of these MKII Continentals on their lot. I would ride my bike up there and check them out when the dealer was closed. They often left the cars unlocked, so I would get in and play with the knobs and switches. I was just a young teenager then, but those cars were just the coolest cars around! Little did I know that they were $10,000 cars when new. They are even classier than the 61 Lincoln Continentals. That is a gorgeous car!
Stunning! Gorgeous! Magnificent! I’ve never seen that color before on a Continental Mark ll. Imo, it is one of the most elegant cars of the 1950s. Looking forward to the full review.
They were only able to do it by pretty much building them by hand and filling all the seems with a hundred pounds of lead (or more). But, yes, gorgeous.

The '56 Mark II was ahead of its time in styling from day one. By the time the Mark III came out in '69, it picked up where the Mark II left off in '57.
One of my all-time favorites. Such a timeless look. Hopefully this is a teaser for a full video. WVOK 690 AM was a radio station in Alabama, from what I found out. From 1947 to 1992. It was a country station when this car was produced, eventually went to Top 40.
BEAUTIFUL! That color is stunning on this car! Don't often see green ones! I know GM fans will not agree, but when these cars came out, they were even classier than any Cadillac of the 1950's. The styling was just SO dignified, and was a superb re-imagining of the amazing pre-war Continentals. They were a real status symbol as well. Too bad they could not have persevered with the Continental as a separate make from Lincoln. I think probably that as beautiful as these cars are on the outside, they don't seem too roomy on the inside, particularly in the rear seat. Cadillac probably had them beat on interior comfort. But they didn't have the classic long hood/short deck body style that this thing had, either. Can't wait for the full version on this car!
Totally agree can't wait to show this one =) some really cool stuff in the pipeline I got to do Mike Wolfe's from American pickers Hudson big boy which is for sale

Teaser is right that Lincoln is awesome. Great color too. So many people associate Lincoln's with the suicide door models from early 60's. Primarily because of the Kennedy assassination. Never realizing there were awesome Lincolns prior. Going all the way back to the V-12 Zephyrs of the thirties.
Truth be told I've done this exact car on the channel maybe two years ago, but it was in a basement and I wanted to show this car that wasn't even all of the footage. The lines on this car are amazing to see it out in the sunlight,
The rear is better than the front, to me. The little round headlights are almost invisible with that huge slab of shiny on either side. What a find! Also, there's nothing for your ears here, anyway: this is all about your eyes!
Still one of the best cars Ford ever made. I honestly think post war this is one of the most elegant cars to be built in this country only the likes of the early 60's Continental first gen. Rivera and Loewy Studebaker's are in the same ball park.

There is a video of it running. I should've asked to go for a ride but I don't like putting people out All the documentation about the supercharger comes with the car and I went through it. It's an incredible piece. If I had the money I would buy that car.
I saw a 57 Buick in that aqua to blue flip paint. It looked pretty good. The blue is dark enough to almost look like the aqua is fading into black. I wonder what a couple of layers of an aqua tinted clear would do over it?
I saw 1959 Rambler ambassador very first time just the other day , but it was really patina with the clear coat over top of it and I was wondering how many coats of clear it would take to replicate that it was a cool look, but nothing was right about it. It was on a different chassis. The steering wheel column wasn't the ambassadors steering wheel column
@@What.its.like. I don't really understand this "patina" thing. It's rust. That said, I have seen people clear coat it. It's kind of ok, I'm more on the side of paint. For that Mk II, I'm thinking an aqua tinted clear would give the whole outer edges a greenish glow past that cobalt, purplish blue. Maybe I'll try that on something someday. You are not sure how many coats over the rust? I'm not sure what is used, some are using a clearcoat product one of the video guys sells I think.
