I do prefer the lavender of the vintage pentacle courts and some of the other colors, but not enough to shell out 10 times what I paid for the new deck.
Thanks for the comparison! I just got one of the new ones (vintage ebay prices are out of my reach right now) and I really like it. Yes the linework details are not as crisp and clean, but I wanted this for the color palette. If I want crisp details, I have other RWS decks for that. I agree that the Pentacle court skies are better in the original, but it's not a deal breaker.
I wonder if after you having watched the video at 1080p you still prefer the new one over the vintage. I'm pretty sure that your camera catches detail better than any bare eye. Vintage is way better imho. Details are top notch crisp with vibrant colors, let alone pointing out they were printed 50 years ago -not a minor aspect¡ all things considered- while in the new version colors are either blotchy or muddled, besides the color selection for many cards was totally arbitrary, leaving some cards true to the original while others totally revamped color-wise, maybe an ocd of mine but I like consistency all along, even if a better color choice was appropriate, that is. I could agree that prices are absurd but they definitely hold some merit with this deck. So don't be astounded when you see people craving for the vintage one, I'm surely not.

It's more than the images for me. The quality of the card stock is almost more important to me because I use them.

The vintage is beautiful. I do not like the new one, the colors are not accurate, looks lie a photocopy!
