This is so wonderfully played by the Slovak Chamber Orchestra! Truly...didn't realize the Hayden family so gifted
musically! Brother of Franz Joseph , Michael, had many compositions!

Melodien dank Legatto (Verscmelzung einzelner Töne und Akkorde) verkündet eine ideale soziale Struktur !!! Tepper Michael.

For me they are both great. Certainly Michael's symphonies are more passionate and immediately enter in your heart. Joseph was paid by the noble Esterhazy family for many years and encouraged to find new avant- garde musical solutions, which helped him mature more over time and be successful beyond the borders of Austria. What unfortunately did not happen to Michael who had all the musical potential as much as his brother

      Not better - different.
Michael was a highly-professional and accomplished composer whose music is unfailingly attractive and appealing, though it’s better to leave out any comparisons with his brother.
A better comparison would be with some of Mozart’s earlier symphonies written whilst he was still in Salzburg; with these works, those of Michael Haydn have rather more in common.
