For the first box set I wouldn't say they lied because it's a common thing by now to label the heated amethyst as citrine and in a box where you can't choose the crystals yourself I always expect this type of citrine instead of the natural one, unfortunately. I never buy crystals in boxes that I can't choose for myself one by one. The chips stones are nice, you can infuse candles and oils and florida aqua with them, for what purpose you need 😀 very useful little stones
I wonder if the certificate of authenticity was included because technically the citrine was a real stone, albeit modified? Anyway, thank you for doing this video! 🔮✨ I haven’t bought crystals from Amazon and I definitely won’t be anytime soon! 😂
Watch one from someone else. She’s leaving out key facts and making concrete statements she can’t back up. . Malachite is a risk , white plume agate, to name a couple… a lot of material from India in general. But she can’t say FOR SURE it’s a conflict stone. Not ALL is, there is a lot of old stock left available from before the Taliban took over. I don’t think it’s a subject to speak on without complete understanding otherwise you’re harming the families who do mine this material and depend on it to survive. It’s actually VERY sad what’s happened in Afghanistan but it doesn’t mean we just presume that all the mines were impacted just yet and turn our back on these families. It’s too premature to say for sure. Unless you are living in the region, you can’t really say with certainty. I’ve been in contact with the family I source from and some associates in Pakistan…. It’s not black and white across the board.
@@laceywhite4380 thanks for the info, I’ll look into these things from another creator. I was just surprised because I have a couple lapis pieces and worried I’d contributed to conflict in someway
@@laceywhite4380 how are the stones from India considered conflict ? I just want to understand because maybe I am missing something. I mean I went there and got some crystals and jewelry and saw mines and all, India doesn’t seem to be on the conflict list. Nor Pakistan, yeah Afghanistan is definitely facing a lot of problems right now so I understand when it comes to Afghanistan. But India and Pakistan are fine. Got some sapphire from Sri Lanka too. I want to go to Jaipur though, also Tucson.
Rock Paradise is a pretty big crystal shop in Woodland Hills, CA (located on Conga Ave), I know that they do sell some heat treated amethysts but they’re pretty good at labeling it as that plus they let you know at checkout as well which is pretty cool (: if your ever in the area you should definitely check it out, it’s super cute! They also have some pretty pieces so I’m kinda bummed the Leo box wasn’t the best 😭
How do you know that it’s not old stock lapis? I have a family of miners in Pakistan of whom I know well and source from for my shop and they still have a bunch of old stock from their neighbors in Afghanistan, left over. Additionally there are some remote locations In Afghanistan that are still not entirely affected by the recent events and have still been able to ethically source lapis. It’s still a very fluid situation and we can’t know for sure yet exactly how the miners are being affected yet or if the Taliban have affected them yet. While it’s important to be cognizant and diligent with sourcing, I think it’s far too premature to just deem ALL lapis a conflict stone at this point.
Another fun fact…. Tigers eye is merely petrified asbestos. The fibrous structure of the asbestos that is taken on when being silicified into tigers eye is the reason for this particular stones chatoyancy.
Honestly, from my recent purchases, my review is really a 5 star. I love there crystals! Honestly Amazon crystals are underrated at least. Also, I recommend reading the star reviews on ALL business including when buying of Etsy Etc.
I have bought some really nice palm stones and tumbles through a few vendors on Amazon. Not the ones she bought from but I check out reviews by verified purchases first.
I like heat treated citrine I have a lot of tumbled pieces and I think it looks cool. I have been obsessed with orbicular ocean jasper, lodolite, and mosaic chalcedony recently.
@@laceywhite4380 it’s not amethyst. Citrine and amethyst are both quartz’s and the names refer only to their color as they are molecularly identical. It is not natural citrine, it is citrine still.
@@laceywhite4380 yes as another commenter said, natural citrine and heat treated amethyst are the same thing. In nature, amethyst is heat treated naturally by the earth and it is then citrine. “Heat treated amethyst” is amethyst that is heat treated by man, turning it into citrine. The only difference is the color. They’re the same crystal. “Natural” citrine (amethyst heated by the earth) is prettier/better looking that man-heated citrine so that’s why it’s more sought after. But they are both legitimately citrine.
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Afghanistan’s president has thrown his support behind a push to classify lapis lazuli as a “conflict mineral” after a global advocacy group said Monday that militants - including the Taliban - earn up to $20 million a year from illegal mining of the rare blue stone.
Yeah, I don't think I will ever buy crystals from Amazon LOL! Ahh no thank you! The fake citrine is disappointing but not surprising! Great video and fun to watch!
Honestly same lol. But I do buy crystal sets in wooden boxes from there. It’s literally the best thing. There are some good ones! You just always have to check reviews
It's nice you have done these video's as crystals are such beautiful objects of nature and our allies too. It's such a shame that tampered fake crystals are hard to spot and in abundance on our markets:it's also a shame us the public become decieved as many buyers use them for healing purposes: I'm happy ive stumbled across your video's which the couple i have watched have been a helpful and look forward to browsing through the rest you have put up on utube. With gratitude Thankyou they have been a big help 🙏: may you prosper in 2022😁😇💜
I'm sorry lol all citrine is heated up amethyst in one way or another. Natural citrine is heated in the earth and the other in a lab but actually ALL citrine is a form of heated amethyst✌️💜 ty for sharing love your videos and I really appreciate all your crystal reviews 😊
Thank you. I was shocked when I learned that my birth stone for November, which I had been taught was smoky topaz, was actually citrine, which I then learned was actually quartz.
Also can we talk about how they house gigantic bubble mailers for small things??? I got stickers from them in a huge bubble mailer. I typically reuse bubble mailers for storage, but it's still so wild to me!
I believe that the current belief is that the lapis mines (in Afghanistan where most Lapis comes from) went illegally back to the Taliban when they took over in August and currently there is no way to prove that it is or is not funding the Taliban.
In the set of tiny bottles was the rubellite actually rubellite? I got that set and it was red jasper in the rubellite bottle. Still real just not as labeled. And I still love the set.
I just started making crystal jewelry. And yeah I bought a jewelry making kit for like 28 something. I'm pretty sure most chips are real. Some pieces still have the out side stone on them I guess? But you are so educated on these. So I followed🤩 So I'll checking out esty. Plus I bought Key charm's which are cute but some are cheaply made while other's look good.
I actually don't care about a gift box. I love crystals as long as the crystal is packed correctly, so it gets to its destination safely. I think that's what the sellers should focus on not putting it in a pretty box, because at the end of the day, what matters is a real beautiful crystal, not the gift box.
Hi Barbie! Love your channel. I have a few people that do purchase from me but tell me that they can purchase from china alot cheaper? How would you answer that ? I'm dumbfounded at times. Thank you
I picked up some stretch bracelets this summer, the one I bought on amazon cost more than 3 I bought on Temu, actually was happier with the stones on Temu. Go figure. I'm always skeptical about purchasing stones online, unless I've dealt with the seller before.
I'm mexican and...idk if i explain myself very well... but! I love your content and I feel very VERY safe when you talk about the authenticity of the crystals you buy and share with us ❤️ love u! I keep practicing my writing~ I learn more and more if I listen~ LOVE U!! ❤️
You told us that lapis is rare and easily counterfeited...so were all these lapis products real? I want to gift my friend this. Lapis has been something she has been looking for. Can anyone confirm that it is very rare?
I am really surprised that Amazon has such awful quality . I have bought slot of things from them that I am very happy with. Thank you for the video I definitely will not buy stones from Amazon
That was a rip off . I buy my products from China or Mexico and an online live so I get to pick every item . Yes it is a bit costly and be aware there is exchange rate and ups charges but definitely well worth the money. They sell by kilo 1/2 kilo or sometimes per item . And everything is authentic. Thank you for the video as I was going to purchase from Amazon but I too was very weary about the products. Most look like glass . Appreciate your time to show this video. I will continue purchasing my products by wholesale.
My honest opinion. I think he paid too much because the crystals weren't that big to begin with. If you're going to spend a $150, I think I would just pick null1 beautiful crystal and paid the 150 for that piece.
Why do you rush to label all lapis a conflict stone but not mention the risk of unethical sourcing for malachite? It doesn’t seem as though you’re leaving room for the merchant to profit and I’m nor surprised there are real crystals, anyone can sell on Amazon… doesn’t mean it’s an Amazon product. Lol. Small businesses just like you and I use Amazon as a place to sell their products , no different than Etsy. Not cool to generalize all of Amazon sellers. Ps: you might want to do some historical review of how shady the corporation Etsy is, especially as it pertains to discriminating against the Crystal community. But okay. Keep making these videos with half assed misleading statements that aren’t 100% fact. First couple videos I dismissed, but it’s getting old. Do better for our community. Thx.
The only certain way to know is locate the original source or have it tested. Does she have a gemologist degree were unaware of ? So much so that she can definitively deem a stone authentic by looking through a glass jar?

girl wym by getting crystals for half the price at ur neighborhood crystal shops?? i get two quarter sized tumbled crystals for $20!!?
is it just me?
yes it’s just u lol
Same with my area. One shop sells tumbles at like $14 each 😱
Depends on the material. I too have a shop and I don’t think she’s fairly considering the fact that people need to make profit.
Omg thank you for making this!!🥰 sending positive energy towards you!!✨✨

Larimar is so beautiful. At the Tucson Gem & Mineral show had a beautiful larimar dealer. Check out the show coming this month. Wholesalers available.
Thank you so much, I ordered two beautiful bracelets from Amazon wich I am so happy with 😍.
Larimar is one of my fav crystals rn. I have the cutest little larimar pendant.
Thanks a lot, I am waiting for your AliExpress haul
Quartz scratches easily which is probably why they are individually wrapped.
hay, could you make a video on fake/real rings with stones? thank you for the vids :)
Would love to see this vid. Its always hard buying jewelry with crystals unless they’re raw cuz I’m scared they will be fale
Agree ! I love Crystal jewelry but it’s so tiny I’m not sure if it’s real or not

How much was that set? 26:07
I went to a festival and a guy sold me that necklace with the tiny piece of raw amethyst at 11:36 for $10. He had over 20 of them.

Thank you so much! 💓

Honestly these prices were fine. These are prices I pay for.
I get what you mean but if I’m paying the same price I’d rather be 100% sure that it’s real. And I would rather support a small business
Are the gems on Amazon specifically the name amazing gemstones real ??

Weird they would fake quartz given how common and cheap it is…
Plastic is bad for the environment but so is what they do to get some of those crystals. 😢😢😢
not worth the price IMO quantity over quality is what's wrong with business today.
I think it’s too expensive for what you received.
