Thanks very much, man! I was having random issues with my LG combo, which has a similar transport mechanism to the one you're showing. From time to time it would eat tapes because it failed to thread them entirely -- it was just stopping the process half way and returning the shafts to their initial positions, hence messing up the tape and leaving it hanging all over the place. After cleaning the mode switch, it's working fine all the time. Again, thank you for illustrating us.
Thanks for this video, the mech is used in a lovely little 14" dvd / vhs combi and it was making some horrid sounds, the loading motor had buckled its mount. Using your video I could see it should be straight to the gears and now its working perfectly again.
I’m sure that’s the exact same vcr/dvd model I have. I only use it to play VHS tapes now because the DVD player started playing up. Not sure if these were prone to having DVD player fails or not. Over all doesn’t do a bad job, but does get upset occasionally when I eject tapes (I think when I eject at places the tape is worn on)
lithium grease on electrical contact surfaces surprised me. that's ok? thanks for the video, i have a similar LG combo with the same vhs assembly. appreciate the vid.
Yours uses the same mechanism as this one (V782W, though yours is mostly similar to the DC 593W or V692WK in Australia). Let me know if you need more help and I'll be glad to give you a hand.
@@vintagevideoau Yes, definitely Yes. i need your help i am going to send you an email. thank you very much in advance for your feedback and informative videos, nice cooperation as well.

Glad I could help! These LG units are pretty reliable if they're maintained properly.
Great video we need more your videos on repairing VCR players
I've got heaps more to repair, so stay tuned!

Yeah, it appears to work just fine and I've had no issues with it at all. I think 12voltvids uses lithium grease as well.
Can’t see through your hand 😂
Very well done. Do you have service manual for LG DC-2002W Combo DVD+VCR ? I was looking for in the internet but couldn't found. Nothing
