Why is this "widescreen"? It's supposed to be 4:3 content and was stretched wrongly.
Ok nerd
Does it really matter that much to you? We're living in a widescreen world with widescreen TVs, laptops and phones. Nothing is cut off from stretching it out and it makes it more compatible with modern devices. Old TVs can adjust the image as necessary to make it fit. This is a rare piece of TV history and it's a miracle it lasted this long to be preserved forever on the internet. There hasn't been enough demand to warrant a reupload of every video in its original aspect ratio and I'm trying to make it future-proof so that it has its best chance of survival.

My mate "Lofty" used to despise this advert with a passion. Almost throwing stuff at the TV, he used to call it Grogan Fair and refused to go there.
How did you put the hello?
in the 90s: to you in the 2000s for some reason: to me
Probably because the last two letters of Prime are "ME" and they bought GWN the year after this aired.

We had the XT model. 😂

Hello there! I was wondering if I could have some help in finding some Australian footage from GWN in 1990 or 1991? : o
@@Pikacat98 Sure thing. What sorts of things do you need? I can send you some files if you want.
@@vintagevideoau Thank you! Do you have twitter? We can talk and continue from there.
@@Pikacat98 I have Facebook. Contact me via my email in my channel description for details.
@@vintagevideoau I can't find it in the channel description. Should I just say what I'm looking for here? : o
@@Pikacat98 my email is brady.emerson99@gmail.com
Great movie. From Mr Thomas Schmutter. From Tom’s Gardening Solutions.
Remove the ads please
My channel is dedicated to preserving Australian TV history. The ads are part of it, hence why they stay in.
I wish I could watch all the episodes of this
Just like the Ulladulla store opening commercial from July 2008, this ad was also considered Lost Media, until this was posted. Both rare Bunnings commercials have been found, thanks to those out there who continue to upload and archive such commercials. However, you should be aware that as soon as Tina Picone notices this, this commercial will be re-uploaded by the user, preferably so many times in various resolutions. You might be unaware that Tina Picone is a user on TH-cam who re-uploads Bunnings commercials from other users, in various resolutions, and the same videos are uploaded so many times, possibly in the hope that the user will get massive attention. But yeah, this ad takes the record for being the longest Bunnings commercial to date on TV.
The music is even on loop for this one lmao
Van Cleef's last great performance.

That's late 1982.
The funny thing is that this bumper was kept untouched for decades, aside from the logo change that fits in with the rebrand especially even when GWN became GWN7 in 2011. I wonder which exact date this got replaced? some might say that it probably sometime around 2017 (I would be surprised if it lasted THAT long but i could be wrong) where the new Goodnight bumper was revealed that turns out to be their remake to the version used from Prime Television, often reshot by replacing Possum with Doopa.
Ahh memories of my childhood in regional WA 😊
This is rare because most of the old doopa dog good nights on TH-cam were made after the logo change in 2001
I have heaps of these but it would be pointless to upload too many of the same video. I think prior to 1995, they must have used Fat Cat, as seen in the 1987 GWN TV Tape that I posted a while ago.
Can you upload the oldest one
@@RayieYT I'll see what I can find
@@vintagevideoau the oldest with doopa dog in it
Also I upload Aussie tv clips too
It features a closedown.
Correct
@@vintagevideoau You have any prime ones featuring a prime possum goodnight message?
@@NatecomediansBoxofAirings Not at the moment. Over here in WA, we had GWN which was basically Prime

Win-tv wa.
Hey Dad will never return to TV ever again, especially after what Robert Hughes did all those years.
So the changes to the format changes earlier than expected, I.e you need to win 8 times instead of 7 to win all the cash and prizes?
Friday February 23 1990
Oh OK. Thanks for letting me know. It's always hard to date these things.
Going by the cricket scorecard, air date of 23 February 1990.
Oh really? I was judging the date by the timetable which had some dates in December 1989.
@@vintagevideoau I was able to look up the cricket scorecard on the ESPN cricinfo website. Also, the station ID used on 7 was from 1990 and Saturday Disney commenced in early 1990 as well.
Australia won the tri-cricket odi series mauling Pakistanis 2-0.

Were you able to find any VEW8 recordings yet?, I’m here for an update.
Such a long version! Must have been around the time the Warehouse format was rolling out in regional WA.
Would like to see community events like the Skyworks from 2001-2004 on
I'll let you know if I have any tapes. I'm still sorting through thousands of hours of footage at the moment 😁
Do you have the full 2000 Today broadcast and Millennium Live
No unfortunately, it was just this bit. The start must have been taped over.
It's 1999 not 2000
Well, you can't be right all of the time 😁. It was a pretty good guess, though!
