@@TheBroadcastEngineer Exactly, that definitely does suit you, and wonder how it will work outdoors with some ambient noise as well, so that you can use it as a more general microphone. Put a stuffed cat on it and it might work well.
@@SeanBZA I didn’t even think about using it outdoors. You’d need electricity run to wherever you’re setting it up. Maybe at a remote broadcast if you had power you could use them. When I set up remotes in the previous job, it was very lightweight… just a Comrex Access and a couple of mics directly connected to it. Made it super easy to clean up. I had this nice little Pelican case where everything had its place. Never came back the same way it went out as folks never put it back properly.
@@TheBroadcastEngineer Anker make some nice portable power stations, that are very light, and which would likely work well there. Provides a few hours of power, and also has a carry case.
SM7 sounds a little better than the Rebel, though you will also have to note that the default YT player now has stable volume turned on by default, which does do extra audio processing on your sound, and it also seems to do noise limiting and hiss reduction on low level signals as well.
From what I could find it’s just audio level adjustment. No other processing. The only processing I did on my end was loudness for the whole file. But then again, I hear my voice all the time and can hear small differences.
@@TheBroadcastEngineer The SM7 sounds more balanced, you need a gravelly voice to use the Rebel, as it definitely is boomy. Did download the raw samples, but PC speakers are not the best to use, and I have the other better speakers packed away at the moment.
@@TheBroadcastEngineer I reckon that you will absolutely buy them soon, at least the SM7 as first option, as it does suit your voice well, and you probably will soon enough absolutely love it. Processing can come later, good input is much better than processing.
You're right, on you, the SM-7B does sound better.
Good point. On someone with a brighter voice the RE-20 and REbel may be better.

@SeanBZA I’m sad I have to ship back the SM7 and the SMooth…

If possible, would you review the ANGRY AUDIO • RAVE Broadcast Mixer..?
Perhaps I can! I’ll bring it up to them.
Orban 8100 still rulez 😉
Still need to get the audio to line level. There’s no mic preamps in the Orban.
@@TheBroadcastEngineer Your right 😀I have been keeping an eye on this manufacturer for some time and they are not that expensive
They fill a very much needed niche in the audio content creation industry.
Couldn't really notice the difference even with headphones
Maybe because I hear myself all the time… were you listening with HD or better resolution or were you listening to the raw files?
@@TheBroadcastEngineer I doubt it was hd, just whatever TH-cam uses with Bluetooth headphones
@@johnmoloney5296 Ahh. They try to go cheap and only deliver 720 or lower. 😁
