You created an inspiring and simple method. Makes platemaking accessible to all. Love your inventive spirit. Thanks for sharing.

I've been searching for just this descriptiong, to understand that all the machines are not required with a bit of ingenuity, many thanis.

The negative is made on Pictorico OHP material. I print it out using dye based colors on an Epson printer. I color the negative blue, using the values: Red1 Green0 Blue113
Counter intuitively, that blue blocked the light best. I tested it with an RGB array of colors. Works fine down to 8point type. Wash out assisted with a short nap velvet flat brush, the kind you get at a hardware store for painting in corners.

Hello Griever and Izim, I since discovered that a jet of warm water (30 celsius) from a close up hose nozzle set to 'fan' is gentler on the small detail. Cheers, Bill

Since making that video, I have discovered that using the 'premium matt' setting on an Epson printer will give a negative dense enough to use without making a sandwich. That's on Fotecon material. Pictorico is even better, specially if you have some way of increasing the ink coverage, either through a RIP processor, or maybe the printer driver itself has that capability.

The emulsion on the steel backed plate that I'm using is .94 inch. Comes to type high when on the magnetic base.

Do you find you're still able to get sharp small type when you sandwich the negatives like that? My mentor was in the process of learning to use the pictureka film. He always made his own photopolymer but usually used linotronic output until it got too expensive

Great video! I have a question, did photopolymer plate make deboss on paper?

Not having seen this photopolymer plate system before, I assume that the emulsion on the plate is thick enough so that when it's washed out after exposure, it leaves the positive image in relief (you mention the sandwich of the plate and magnetic steel block being type-high). I currently screenprint, but ran a Chandler & Price handfed letterpress in my Dad's shop when in college, banging out business cards mostly, using either handset foundry type or type set on a linotype.

por favor. Este actualmente es tu trabajo o pasatiempo? Es rentable hacer ésto hoy?

One negative is enough, using Pictorico. color the neg as above, and add 15% more ink if your printer driver allows this...
