I have said over and over that being in opposition doesn't mean making unconfirmed allegations all the time. Atiku is not an Engineer and neither is he responsible for contract awards. The current Minister of work is an civil engineer with a records successfully completing projects in Ebonyi State when he was the Governor. As the Minister has suggested, Atiku can approach the Minister with any questions and doubts he has in any project rather than the embarrassment is causing both to himself and the Minister. The project is ongoing but not yet completed to have the overall cost. If the opposition party has to be taken serious they need to channel their observation and criticism either directly in a cordial manner to the administration or through the relevant oversight body ion the national assembly. This idea of the opposition leaders using the media as the main channel of opposition can never yield the desired effect. The National Assembly which made up of members from different parties is the appropriate channel to see opposition in effect and in practice. If Atiku does not want to contact the administration of the Minister directly he could influence the members of his party to raise an alarm as he he is doing and the house will call the Minister for questioning. Getting his press person to put out statements is considered private and unofficial so long as issue raised are not direct from the opposition party elected persons. Anyone, can under the freedom of speech challenge the administration or the Minister to provide the cost details for this project. A former Presidential Candidate is not a position of power in any country, may be within the party. Atiku should know better because he is been former Presidential Candidates for many years when this projects has been ongoing. All former Presidential candidates in the country should understand that they are only leaders in their respective political parties and not Nigeria as a country. Any leadership in the administration from the president to the ministers are recognized and answerable to Nigerians and not to any particular party.

You should be sure of the things you say before saying them. RCC didn't construct Lagos Ibadan. That was Julius Berger's contract. When you see damaged roads have you ever considered that it could be due to road abuse? Sometimes we complain of inadequate road construction but have ever taught that what if people are damaging the roads?
For instance while they were working on the third mainland bridge, a driver drove on the paved section that was opened to the public with only rims, and peeled off the fresh asphalt from the road. If asphalt were durable to carry iron wheels why were cars designed to have rubber tires? We are the ones abusing the roads in most cases.

Can our government help build pur own construction companies that will do that for Nigeria rather than using foreigner ones, there devaluing our naira.
Foreign companies made the money here and take them out of the country, when are going start encouraging our own construction company so that they will be global standard.

It's good to have Right Professional at the right business. Umahi knows what he's doing as directed by President and Commander in Chief of Armed Forces.
And again if are civil servants putting to supervise our roads not corrupting the Contractors, Nigeria will have good roads that will last longer.

@@King_Krypto But Buhari really decimated Nigeria and brought the whole country down with his Fulani tribes men, because of his hybrid and mad and fanatical islamic fundamentalism. He made the hatred of Igbo people the cardinal principle of his administration and promoted islamic extremism which eventually became a threat to national security. Now, that the Fulanis are out of power, don't you see that Nigeria is moving forward again?

Tinubu has put round pegs in the round holes.
His team of Ministers are really performing well though not all.
But he should deem it fit to remove those that are not doing up to expectations from office on his 1year in office anniversary.
The Minister of power is not getting it right at all. With the increased in tarriff we are not getting light even is getting worse on daily basis.
Nigeria will definitely get there by God's Grace.

The project is great for SS and SE. They need to intentionally include SW by extending to Akure-Osogbo from Benin. Passing thru Ijebu to Ore before Benin is bcos they are in the way. 90% of SW or Yoruba area is isolated. Too expensive to isolate 90% of a region by design, intent and execution. Yorubas in Lagos to Ijebu are minority in SW / Yoruba, less than 6%.If that is what they want, we will start shouting out minority. It is a much shorter life expectancy for the majority Yoruba when they are being isolated. Even those who have money won't have peace, and of course they are actually living shorter

If this road was adequately planned and designed, it is likely concrete road ( rigid pavement) is not required, rather flexible pavement may be adequate. The biggest problem with Nigeria roads is inadequate approach to managing Geotechnical design risks.
