I think Fed Govt requires all mattresses to be saturated with Flame Retardant chemicals, so the off gassing is still an issue. There's a mattress company in Virginia selling latex mattress layers separately with a cover that I stacked & put together. Since its sold in pieces, it does not have to be sprayed with FR Chemicals. Lool up Sleep Essentials on you tube- I am not affiliated w/ them but I was a customer.
It’s amazing what you can create with hot glue. I remember when it first came out where I live. I would’ve never thought then it would’ve been what it is now. Thank you for sharing all these great ideas.
I saw someone draw a choker necklace template, put it under the DT cutting mat and just traced it with the hot glue. glued ribbon onto the sides, painted it and wore it "backwards" and it looked amazing

Use fabric paint for the socks. Hot glue does not do well in the dryer.
TIP: when you buy new furniture make every effort to remove the protective covering (plastic bag, paper or fabric cover on sofas etc) in one piece, keep it intact. When you paint, clean carpet, or move you simply unfold it from storage (linen closet etc) and presto you have a custom fit protective covering to keep your investment clean. ESPECIALLY with mattresses. Moving they are often put on their side and slid or scooted across a dirty floor or ground, heaved into a truck bed etc.
Can anyone attest to Gorilla glue use from a mini low heat gun to a full size high heat gun? Is there a substantial difference? Does it matter? thanks!
Lots or fun ideas today Shannon! I love the hot glue glitter sticks so much and I love the seal idea without the wax...very cool! I have a friend who uses the glitter sticks to make cards. I still have some of her cards from several years. She makes designs like trees, snowflakes, etc. on paper and folds it to make cards. They're beautiful! I love your shirt today too...perfect for us old hippies! Honey is just precious too!

The dollar trees in my area do not carry half the stuff all these videos show
Careful with using super glue with Styrofoam, the glue will dissolve it. E6000 also dissolves Styrofoam. I learned this trying both on white Styrofoam.

Another tip it to glue a finger protector to the wood handle of an old sponge brush.

The only hack I didn't like is when you put the sequins on the number, then, you put that number in the cupcake icing. Isn't that a bit dangerous in more than one way ?
Thank you! So many great ideas. My mind is already whirling. You can also use hot glue in silicone moulds for sprucing up decor. I have not yet perfected getting the glue even, and think it needs the big gun, but perhaps someone here has done it and can share.
I still am not sure of that either. Takes a steady hand for sure
I’ve had success using a silicone spatula to smooth out the glue in the molds so it’s even! And for any edges or glue overflow you can hold the piece over a lighter or other heat source for just a literal second and they’ll melt right off so your design looks clean.

This is awesome and going to use the non slip sock idea to creat a yoga towel!,
Instead of using the mask applier or finger protecters
you can use a Betty Crocker spatial ( the are red ) !!!!

Hi Shannon I am new to your Channel I just subscribed and I love your enthusiasm. My question is where do you get those great glue guns that you have at and are they going to break the bank. And when are you going to start putting out some Christmas ideas? I have used the same Christmas stuff for years and I would love to change a few things but I don't have a lot of money. And I don't think my Dollar Tree has pool noodles anymore so if it's anything to do with that we might be Sol.

I used the colored glue sticks and made Santa claus and reindeer faces and put a jewelery pin on back to wear on my jacket.
Do you have a glitter / color dedicated glue gun? Or do you pull out one stick to change it? Wondering how easy it is to change and if glitter gets left behind.
I have one glue gun just for the colors and use half glue sticks to cut down on waste if not using much.

I think it will still be ok if you hand wash. Maybe not best to put it through the washing machine, definitely not through the dryer.

All very good and important ideas. I like the rubber finger tips . I use them for paper work and filing. They work perfectly fine.
The only problem with your snowflakes is that real ones don't have eight "rays" (arms). They only have six and multiples of that number (6, 12, 18, 24, etc.) Some great hacks in this video, though.

Do you need to use a different glue gun for fabric glue and for glitter glue? And if you do different colors do you need to have a new glue gun for each color
No need for a glue gun for each. I do have 2 though. One for regular glue and the other I use for the fun glues

How do you get a hot glue stick out of the gun to replace with a different type if you've only used a tiny bit....without waisting the while thing?
I usually cut them in half. There is some waste, but not as much when you use only half a stick
