This was probably an Outlet Coach bag. Either way typically COACH bags are very well made and have way less problems than LV and Chanel.
It could be an outlet bag. I have a bunch of leather bags from their boutique 1941 collection, the quality and design is amazing. A second handed bag doesn't represent the quality of coach boutique bags.
I have an outlet coach tote bought in 2020 and it’s still fine! It has lots of glazing but none of them bled. Maybe I was lucky to get a good quality bag or the seller didn’t store it properly :(
100% the top quality Coach bags are pristine. But Coach widely varies in quality.
Coach Leather bags are great quality... better than most high end luxury brands.

I wouldn't consider this a Coach defect or quality issue. The bag was improperly stored, very likely at high temps and humid conditions due to the warping of the corner flap and the melting from the glazing.
Is this a quality issue or a rip-off issue? This bag had problems before it even got in the bag. The seller should have mentioned SHENANIGANS were included in the purchase price.
Just my opinion.. Coach collector here for decades...Outlet, boutiques or preloved...I think that is a knock off...sorry

That’s unusual for Coach. They are generally great quality, there are some designs that are great, but I only own a few pieces from Coach. The sad thing is the last 2 items I purchased new from Chanel were real crappy too, and thousands of dollars VS a few hundred for Coach.
I honestly don’t think this is a coach quality issue. I have coach leather and the canvas larger Cassie crossbody in the beige. Great quality. This looks to be likely terribly stored or even could be counterfeit. If this was from the coach website it would be different but this wouldn’t put me off coach in the slightest!

I listed the itemised prices in USD cos eBay did that for me and gave me a final price in USD. When we shop from Australia, because we have a flat tax rate and fixed import duties, eBay can calculate it all at checkout. We don’t need to pay more once we receive the item. Works like that for most big international companies.
I still have the bag. EBay gave me a full refund and the seller didn’t want the bag back. 🎉
So I’m trying to decide what to do with it next. Maybe take to coach or try to remove the glazing myself- it can be my Frankenstein bag😊

That looks like an outlet bag, not a boutique bag. You have to be careful because there is a difference. They usually put plain locks on the outlet pieces.
But Coach glazing has always been plasticky and prone to crack.
If the more luxurious brand are having quality issues,are we surprised that contemporary brand are having issues as well smh,at this point the only difference between fake and real is the price and packaging 😅
Sorry to say but it looks fake, i heve this bag and is great, i take good care also. Also, ebay does not authenticate for Coach, i don't know if it happens for other countires.
I think its an outlet piece because they do a lot of monograms for the outlet and it has a plain lock. The Boutique version of that bag usually has a C lock.
Oh I watched her video, I feel like that seller really should have told her the condition, but having had some edge paint transfer, a little bit of deglazer will clean up the bag, how you store your bag matters, but honestly I would prefer my bags to have zero edge paint, shockingly bag can be made with out edge paint it's just to cover a raw edge we just to sew in a lining and trim the bag in a way you don't have exposed edges!
Coach does more edge paint recently - that’s why I only have one recent bag. Ugh. The old ones have zero glazing or edge painting they get rough and age perfectly. Ugh

Leather piping covers edges, and it looks nice, too.

I suspect this was a case of an undisclosed (bad) restoration. Maybe the original owner had the glazing painted, and the results were, well, poor. I have several Coach bags and SLG's, both pre-loved and fresh from the store, and I've never seen this bleeding in the glazing. Yet, I once bought a vintage Coach leather bag and just by opening the package I noticed a strong smell of paint. Yes, the bag has been painted and the job they did was really bad. This was not disclosed in the original listing for the bag, so I returned it and got my money back.
Wow...such a lovely bag! I have a lot of handbags from Coach, Dacob. Too many, if I'm being honest. More leather bags than canvas bags, but I have never had an issue with any bleeding of colour from the glazing. Now, I do make sure that my bags are always kept in a cool and dry environment and away from direct sunlight. All that said, no one should ever have to worry about that sort of issue occurring. It's tough purchasing from strangers on line..I guess if you don't want any problems it's best to save your coins for something brand new and know for sure what your getting.
This is very, very unusual to see. This looks like an outlet bag that the seller didn't take care of.
I only buy coach boutique bags and they are absolutely phenomenal quality wise. They all look brand new but i take care of them.

I absolutely adore Coach retail leather bags, the quality should have Chanel and LV hanging their heads in shame. I can’t speak on their outlet or canvas bags though, I’m a LV canvas girl.
I will say that in the follow up video the bent flap had settled almost completely flat again, which I found impressive.
I would reach out to Coach and test their after sale service about the glazing, I’ve had nothing but amazing service. My Coach SA goes out of her way to stay in touch and follow up on satisfaction after a purchase, she even gets excited when I track down a vintage or rare piece pre-loved, no shade at all ❤
I got a new Coach a few years ago and love it. I was also incredibly lucky enough to snatch a Louis Vuittton Neverfull from an estate sale for ....get this, 50 bucks ! Both are in perfect condition. But that's it for me. I can't fathom spending any more money for luxury bags, especially what I'm seeing lately.

I just purchased three different versions of the Coach Rogue signature bag and the quality is stunning. Stitching and leather are perfection. Hardware also on point.
I have to say, some upper end Coach bags rival the luxury brands. And I'm now going back to Coach after focusing the last couple of years on LV and Chanel. The Coach Quilted studio bag rivals the Chanel classic double flap. The exterior leather is more supple and soft and the interior is lined w leather. I prefer the leather over my classic CC lambskin double flap. I think I will still shop LV, but I just can't anymore w Chanel. I had a new bag from the boutique for less than 6 months and the hardware started tarnishing. I only ever used it 5 times and mostly kept it on my office shelf on display. Chanel tried to tell me that's what is supposed to happen...ugh. I ended up selling it because it upset me to look at it.

90s coach was the best! I still have my coach leather bags from the 90s. It’s been years since I bought a coach bag and I have to admit, the last time I went into the store in 2022 I was a bit disappointed: I do think the quality has declined a bit in the last 1O years or so. But with that said, this bag looks suspect! The whole sale is suspect. This is a bit unusual for coach. I’m inclined to even believe that it is not an authentic coach bag.
I have 4 Coach Cassies and I live in a humid and sunny country. All my Cassies don’t have this issue or any issues. In fact, Coach piping are quite perfectly in place. In comparison, my Prada bag had very bad piping all over the place and on metal bits.
Coach used to be great quality. Nowadays not so much. The official store has terrible quality leather if it’s even leather at all. Outlets have always been lesser quality. But what surprised me was finding a better quality at dillards. Still Coach bags are not what they used to be even just a couple of years back…
Coach usually has great quality and I’d generally trust their quality more than some brands that charge three and four times the price. I’m surprised at the state of this bag. Coach outlet is not the same quality as coach full price but even so, this is a shocker!
Yes, it screams fake to me. But again I never buy the plastic coated canvas bags from Coach, but only the highest quality leathers they offer. These bags are stunning, the leather is gorgeous and the quality is impeccable.
I think this must be bad luck. I started recently liking their bags and purchased several in last few years. The quality is really good. Since they are on "cheaper" side, I don't treat them any special and they survive everything. Also, I have a wallet that patern and also has been through a lot and still looks like new.
Looks like someone did a home job of trying to fix the glazing. Didn’t work out so well!
I had the same problem with glazing with my LV bag, they then recalled them and let me choose another bag, so this is commonplace

The bag is trash. You could never wear it out and you’d certainly choose other bags to wear than that one. The pen marks are at the back so can be covered but that red is everywhere. Looks like lipstick smeared all over. It’s only worthy of the bin

I have several vintage, and newer Coach bags. I have never had a problem with mine. I do moisturize them occasionally, as well as store them properly. The quality of leather that Coach uses is remarkable. I would love to see you get a Coach bag. You may end up falling in love with it 👜❤️

The bag looks terrible! It looks like a Cassie from Coach Outlet. I own a couple of Coach bags and the leather quality is 👌🏾. If I was her, I would’ve sent it back and demanded a refund. 😮
If I were the lady buying on eBay, I’d have sent that discolored bag back. I have bought Coach bags since the mid-80s. The bags I bought in the 80s are still in good wearable condition. They are sturdy with nice looking leather. The insides of the bags have raw leather and no lining. I did buy a few of the canvas/jacquard bags from the early 2000s. They held up well, but the uncoated fabric eventually got dirty, and the bags became unwearable. I would still buy their leather bags if they would make styles I like (original Cassie, not the 19) that are not too heavy. The Rogue looks good, but it is a very heavy bag. Louis Vuitton is close to pricing me out, so I may be going back to Coach and Gucci.

Unlike most 'made in Europe ' brands, coach didn't suffer with supply chain issues and didn't keep increasing prices. They make bags that beat Gucci and Lv on a price to quality ratio.
The only bags I have seen with that kind of bleeding is LV multi print white bags with the red lining. I have never seen anything like that fro Coach, I would not keep that bag. As long as I have been buying Coach, I have never seen one with a red lining like that.
I have canvas and leather from the outlet. Definitely haven't had that issue with my Coach Jes canvas camera bag from the outlet but that red glazing white combo would have made me leery from buying it. Definitely looks like a problem with that bag when I looked online.

That really sucks for her but at least she got money back. I have a good coach collection. A few light colored bags (white, beige), no glazing or bleeding issues. At first I thought maybe the lining could have bled due to heat. Idk tho there would have been red marks one top at zipper. Could this be a fake?🤔

eBay Authenticity Guarantee is simply amazing, I have to deal with them almost on weekly basis. They built a huge team in Vegas for inspection and authentication and everything high end designer goes through them. You can actually get hold of them, - George, Kolton, Michael are great and extremely helpful. Coach is not on a list in US or Australia as far as I know. Its been such a relief for sellers since this program started, US team is extremely accurate and literally reporting every scratch ( which sometimes a bit annoying). They inspect returns as well, if something goes wrong and your return arrives damaged, for example - eBay would cover it. This program is such a relief, seriously

I am not a fan of any coated canvas so I admit my bias. However, I have many Coach bags and I stand by the quality of their leather. In my opinion, all of the manufacturers are getting a little out of hand with some of the things they are trying to pass to the customers. I hope we hear how Dani handled this particular situation .

It’s possible this is a manufacturing error on Coach’s part, but given the sketchiness of the seller and the fact this is not an issue that seems to be well documented with Coach bags, I suspect the most probable cause is the previous owner either accidentally got some sort of liquid on the bag that they shouldn’t have, stored the bag negligently, or tried to cover up wear and tear with a red marker or some such nonsense.
When it comes to Coach, I generally don’t mess with anything but leather, and even then I’m extremely discerning (they have such a large range of styles compared to other brands), so I can’t personally speak to experience with red-glazed edging and monogram coated canvas, but I do concur with the other commenters who speak highly of coach’s quality. I haven’t bought much of anything new from Coach since Reed Krakoff left, so I can’t speak to more recent items, but their products are historically made to last.
Hey, if Chanel can get the smoke, so can Coach! Call 'em out (I'm a Coach fan, but what's good for the goose ...). Outlet bag or not (I don't know if it is outlet), that melted glazing is crazy pants. I've never even seen anything like that, wow! Also, that Ebay seller is out of order. Hey, if you don't like Coach, don't get one! I don't like most vintage Coach bags either, but I do like many newer styles. Coach has a ton of styles, though. I'm sure someone would be more than happy to help you find one you like the look of and is better quality.

But then again I don't buy white bags for fear of ME causing irreversible damage or marks on them. I gotta say this one does look suspect all around. You know there are fake Coach bags too, hard to believe I know, but it would be interesting to see or hear from others who've also encountered the same problem. I think this is completely a failure of the eBay's authentication and protection service. I've bought a preloved Kelly on German eBay when this service was also included, to my happiness. In that case, eBay contacted me with pictures that there's more damage and a big scratch on the bag, which was not disclosed and asked me if I wanted to proceed with the purchase. I canceled the transaction and got all my money back, incl. shipping.
I have seen this same bleeding on the white multicolor, Louis Vuitton bags and small, leather goods. I’m glad she got her money back
It's true, the top quality Coach bags are pristine. But Coach widely varies in quality. (Avoid items made for the Coach outlet, but also check the leather grade at the Coach boutique before buying. The logo bags are not leather, but plastic-y coated canvas.) Always go into the Coach boutique and only buy the best quality leathers, they never disappoint in quality.
For example, the "Bandit" is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful refined calf leather, hardware, and craftsmanship.

I do not think the bag went through ebay authenticate. This is just my opinion. Here is how I know based on the limited information from the video: The package is not ebay authenticate packaging. It has ebay generic packaging which anyone can purchase, ex: ebay tape with ebay envelope. Ebay authenticate would put the bag in a box within another box within a blue dustbag and have a tag with ebay authenticate on the item. The item would also have an nfc chip card. Also, I don't think the item goes through ebay authenticate if its overseas, it just goes through regular customs and ebay global shipping, even if the listing says ebay authenticate, I'm not 100% sure of this. You can figure out if it was authenticated based on the tracking, it should go to las vegas (ebay authenticate) and then i think kentucky (ebay global shipping). It's my opinion that it was the seller's fault for miscommunicating the color transfer issue and also the storage issue. It's a good thing that the seller did the right thing and just gave a refund. Also louis vuitton takashi murakami mulicolor white monogram version of the bags have a similar color transfer from the red lining so I wouldn't say it's a coach issue, it's a white coated canvas issue.
I don't know all of the history of Coach but I feel like the plastic-y coated canvas logo bags maybe did not come out until the 90's when people wanted to buy Coach brand bags for a cheaper price - these same people want logos all over everything. I honestly don't consider these logo bags as Coach bags!

This is an outlet bag, and Im going to be truthful Coach outlet isn’t the best quality, and it’s their outlet canvas, the only think worse is their outlet sherpa.
I’m not a Coach hater, I love their 1940 line, I use my mom and aunt’s bags from the 70-80’s but outlet is a no no.

They just used an ebay bag....Coach bags are not apart of ebays high end handbags authentication program....and if it was ebay uses a very nice ebay dustbag and also ships in a box ..so this is on the seller ..not ebay

I showed my LV SA what I was looking to find in the stitching for a speedy via Coach bag example. The answer I got was; Coach can do perfect stitches because it’s machine made, Louis Vuitton is hand crafted by artisans and you can’t expect it to be perfect. Hmmm.
