In this video I talk about some common AC issues with the W211 when the system is low or very low on r134a refrigerant. Some common issues include: hissing from the vents, or experiencing cold air only on one side of the vents. Typically cold air will blow from the passenger side and warm air will blow from the driver side. All of this is pretty common knowledge discussed in detail on the MB forums.
Reminder: I'm not an expert, I'm just sharing my personal experience with this car. DIY on your AC system can be very dangerous. Always follow proper Mercedes workshop guidelines for working on the system or consult a professional for advice!
The best outcome is usually to have a professional evacuate the system and refill using a professional AC machine. In some cases simply topping up the system with refrigerant can get the system to blow cold again, which is what worked for me. Your experience may be different or you can have other failures in the system.

I have an 04 E320 with 239k miles. It’s such a nice commuter with a great sound system. Also, very nice to work on. I recommend servicing the transmission because while it’s one of the most durable automatics out there, it’s the sore point with my car because the previous owner didn’t service it.

Wow, great mileage. I've heard these early model e320's can go for 300-400k miles as the 5 speed auto is very robust. The early V6 avoids the troubles with the balance shaft of the later models.
