That’s why they call it hunting and not killing. After serving 20 years in the military, I just enjoy being able to go out and enjoy nature. If I kill something it’s a bonus. I enjoy your videos that make people understand we are not always successful during a hunt but we still enjoy nature.
I like the fact your cousin and you are doing what yaw two do! You young fellows are keeping the legacy and memory of our great ancestors alive. I'm all into this era as well and only hunt with muzzle loaders too.
Perfection, and when you do harvest it will be all the more because you will have earned it. Money cant by it and only the soul can truly comprehend it, earned in sweat and savored by all those who came before and all who will follow in an unbroken chain until the end of time. Venison earned hard taste better than what any chef can put on a plate. It cant really be explained, only felt in the parts of a mans heart that make the man who he is, and others sense in him and remember about him.
The America has s great tradition of every men hunting. Here in the uk and Europe. It’s been a gentry thing. So no hunting herotige. Enjoy yours. As I see you guys do. Well done. Ps. Love all your stuff.
Love your channel! I started building muzzleloaders in 2014 after watching my dad build them growing up. Haven't deer hunted with anything else other than my smoothbore French trade gun since then!
I love your cousin's rifle! I'm saving to get the exact gun in the side lock model. Tell him to try this load since it works so well in three of my 50 calibers including my Kentucky by Traditions: 60 gns 3f Goex, .015 patch, .498 ball. He will not be sorry if he tries it, I give you my word.
Great video! If I lived closer I would have crashed your camp. :) We have ten inches of ice on Lake of the Woods right now so no more canoeing this year! :) You guys should really consider a boundary waters trek. No motors allowed and you can portage from lake to lake to get further in. Only thing is most campsites are on rocks to avoid the ground from being trampled. So I bring a pad. We've never hunted in there but it is allowed. We usually go before season opens. You might need a special permit to hunt..
Peter, I use music from the TH-cam library, and some I downloaded from Amazon, you can look up Sara Maynard Johnson With Rogues' Consort on TH-cam, I've used quite a bit of their music.

Like the food box y'all have.
Could you do a small video on it. I'd love to make one like it. Was thinking old pallet wood or old barn wood.
Again great job on the video, enjoy watching it.
Happy Holidays!
Thank you Darrel, and Happy Holidays to you!

Thanks, we would have loved for you to crash right on in! I wondered if you could take a gun into the boundary waters, maybe someday...
Burrr that did look like it was probably a cold night. Hopefully you guys are getting a video of another deer camp out for this year 2021.
We are planning a trek later this year.
My new favorite channel!!!! How have missed this ?
Thanks! Much appreciated
Thank you, great video. Did I miss what river you were on.
Thanks, it's just a creek that runs through the property we were on
No deer but great times it shines
I love it! Hey, where do you get your music for the videos? I'd love to listen to it while I'm making flintlocks

Beautiful.
You guys wouldn't happen to be on the Allegheny or French Creek here would you?
Rich, no this was on the Osage in MO
@@SOvideography Nice. Amazing how much it looks like Northwestern PA. Looks like a great trip.
Heck, I'm not too far from y'all. I'm in South central Oklahoma and do an 1820s-1840s period.
Like to have deer in the pot, but a bad day hunting ain’t a bad day at all
Agreed!
Seriously I want in !! How do I contact you? No one in my area does this ☹️
Me too man!!
Some weird boys in Pennsylvania lol
Not the best quality video, a bit choppy, etc…. But still a nice video. I wish I could do something like that. Keep it up guys.
Nice
What state do you live in
I live in Missouri, thanks for watching.
O that is cool I live in Illinois
What part of Missouri and the other fella from Illinois what part? I live in Southern Illinois I’ll narrow it down to Jackson County
Mercer county
3 hours south of Chicago
Great!
maybe go where you can shoot them inside a fence!
Looked like a pathetic set up for shooting a deer I was trying to figure out why you chose that spot
