  • When people think of Peak District stepping stones, they automatically think of the iconic Dovedale Stepping Stones. The stepping stones were first laid across the River Dove in around 1890, as the area became more and more popular with Victorian tourists. In 1934, the stones were acquired by the National Trust and in 2006, Dovedale was declared a National Nature Reserve to protect its future.
Please do not rely solely on the postcode for parking directions. In the National Park, a postcode can cover a large area. Postcodes are only provided as guidance.
