I'm so glad they decided to fix some of the old bugs, in the proccess adding new ones (a lot more new ones) absolutely destroying some of the character models :/
a lot of things definitely improved from the initial trailer. i'm glad they tweaked max's model because her face was def off in the trailer. also, its crazy how much better the real BtS game is than the trailer, good on them for that
I thought Max’s face looked really different and weird in the trailer too but I also was concerned by all the characters eyes, it looked like they were glowing and I’m glad they fixed it
It's because this video has antialiasing turned on. AA doesn't work well with shadows, they are much lower resolution than the actual models so when AA is on, it can make shadows blocky, have lines, or blur them completely out.
not just Max, Chloe too 1:55 - 2:00 Frank, too 1:24 (he looks angry and threatening) 0:28 Chloe's expression was so blank in the trailer, now it's fleshed out. her eyes actually move and look into direction that makes sense 1:04 Nathan kills Chloe. it's only for the flash of a second but they took the time. E3: he looks like he is smiling and she looks grim. reality: she looks shocked, wide open eyes and mouth, she looks right at the gun. his expression also makes more sense. (use a desktop and the comma and dot keys to navigate framewise)
There were so many times in the remaster that i really loved the changes. Especially maxs face. The worry and concern of the shit she was causing really showed
If you look behind the scenes of Deck Nine, then you can see how much love and work was put into the remastered. I recently played LiS and LiS before the storm for the first time and I was blown away. With the True Color Ultimate Edition I have the opportunity to play these 2 brilliant games again. So far I've seen a lot of trailers and gameplay footage and I think it's good. There are far worse remastered games out there. On the other hand, I think the Deck Nine, which actually worked previous with Unity, was able to beautify LiS even more with the Unreal Engine, which is great and successful. I can't understand the excitement of many people. On steam the reviews are very balanced, I mean what do most people expect from older games? You can badly change the graphics from beautiful to real. I'm satisfied and glad that I can play it again with enhanced graphics. maybe the price was set a little too high at 40€ because most of them already owned the games. With the True Color Ultimate Edition, the price is manageable.
I just got done with the remastered and I think I'm in love with it. The characters looked great, and I felt connected with a few, like Kate, she's Christian and I'm Catholic, and I honestly feel in the same boat as her. She got bullied, and I honestly felt bullied as well because I'm autistic, but I was blind to see it.
It does look fantastic. I don't really care what people say, the original looked dated WHEN IT RELEASED. It's not going to fix the story criticisms but at least it's one less thing for people who hate this franchise to complain about. I just hope the terrible bugs get fixed sooner than later, if the game was in a bug-free state, it would be the definitive version they wanted it to be.
It has nothing to do with the remasters but... today I got an update on chapter 3 of life is strange before the storm (the original) and well... I would like to know if anyone knows if they put something on it or what.
Are you polish? Your nickname is a mix of "fioletowy" and "violet" or maybe i am dumb.
A lot of these shorts' differences are due to antialiasing which may have been turned on thinking it's an enhancement. Antialiasing doesn't play well with shadows and will make them blocky, glitchy or blur them completely out. What's happening is these self-shadows have a much much lower resolution than the final output, so when antialiasing is applied, it desharpens them by a huge amount, while it desharpens model edges by a smaller amount. That's mostly the whole problem. Turn off antialiasing completely. At 4k it's overkill, high resolution is the best AA. PS, if you played the non-enhanced version of LiS, and you noticed bad shadows it's the same reason.
it makes me sad how many people are hating on this remaster. sure, there are changes that need to happen for the game to be more playable ( *cough cough*, glitches, bugs and lightning issues ) but all in all, i absolutely love the remaster. now, this might just be because i personally never played the original. i waited for the remaster of lis before buying it because i didn’t want to buy the game twice, so i had no “nostalgia” while playing it. i feel like many people are so emotionally connected to the way the original game looks that they just can’t get themselves to like the remastered version. ( which i understand. younger ellie’s model in tlou2 was an absolute disaster for me, but newer players didn’t mind the change that much ) as for before the storm, i played the original in 2018 and bought the remaster when it came out. ( yes, i played bts before lis. bite me. ) and i must say, i still prefer the remaster, even for that game. for me, the emotions seen on characters faces and the lip sync matching with the voices is SO important, so watching the remaster do that is very satisfying for me. my personal favorites are chloe seeing max for the first time, and her getting all upset when max finds the picture of rachel. and finally, my opinion on the character models is that… i simply love them. especially chloe. i personally never liked the way chloe looked in the original, but now…. man, i would never not sacrifice arcadia bay for that beautiful blue haired lesbian. just throwing it out there that i respect everyone’s opinion
It's a pity that my entire playthrough of both games was plagued by bugs and glitches from small and irritating to completely game breaking and game stopping. Even on the latest patch, the final episode of Before The Storm was a roller-coaster ride of frustration and misery due to bugs and glitches. So, touche, Deck Nine. You've made your point about the fruitlessness of remasters for games that aren't even that old and probably don't need them.
Damn they put some hours into this. Hella Awesome Reality is like way better. They listened to the criticism and revised the lighting, focus, etc. Also: their facial expressions are more on point now. Congrats to Deck Nine Yes, there are some pesky bugs, I heard. But this convinced me of their great intent :)) I mean they switched the engine for both games. Bugs to some degree are expected behaviour imo Thanks for putting this together though :)
it's weird, in some scenes the trailer looks better, in others the reality looks way better, and mostly, they look the same! no bashing, just thought it was interesting to point out.
I'm glad they decided to change Max's reaction from making a poker face, into sorta a concerned face during the scene with the whales
yes
amazing what eyebrows can do
I'm so glad they decided to fix some of the old bugs, in the proccess adding new ones (a lot more new ones) absolutely destroying some of the character models :/
Да вообще в оригинале Макс всегда типа: 😐😶😐😶😕🙁
Макс в Ремастере: 😃😄😁😣😭

I said the same thing, which is why I gave the game a chance. The final product is usually vastly different than the trailer.
Some things are actually better on the finished game but the shadows on the trailer seem to be much better than the finished game
It's because this video has antialiasing turned on. AA doesn't work well with shadows, they are much lower resolution than the actual models so when AA is on, it can make shadows blocky, have lines, or blur them completely out.
Reality looks so much prettier in visuals even though its the same like e3 but with different lighting
@aomenih Yeah same for Max at 0:55, she looks more in distress or sad I guess, in Reality rather than the original Trailer.
not just Max, Chloe too
1:55 - 2:00
Frank, too 1:24 (he looks angry and threatening)
0:28 Chloe's expression was so blank in the trailer, now it's fleshed out. her eyes actually move and look into direction that makes sense

Uhhh I NEVER get tired of this song... always on repeat for me...
1:25 Chloe looks so damn good here, I'm bout burst into tears. they did her so well in this scene.
the junkyard scene, too 0:28
There were so many times in the remaster that i really loved the changes. Especially maxs face. The worry and concern of the shit she was causing really showed
1:46 Rachel's lips in the trailer WTF 😆
The trailer was good (for LIS1) but we didn't realize it
Tho everyone seems to be in direct rays of sunlight, the lighting has its pros and cons of it, it is still manageable, and is worth the money
Damn they look like they didn't put that much work into some of the details like Chloe crying and stuff. They needed more time to work on stuff
Take note that this was probably recorded after the first minor update which fixes the subtitles and minor dark spots in LiS1

The reality is so much better!
No, high gloss and dull colors
and they took out a lot of shadows that should be there and aren't, there are no shadows.

They really fucked up the lighting in some scenes
High gloss and dull colors and they took out a lot of shadows that should be there and aren't, there are no shadows.

And it's only gonna get better. They will be releasing patches to further improve face animations, lighting, etc 🙂
0:28 Reality is way better here, in the trailer one it's way too exaggerated
not just exaggerated, her expression was so blank in the trailers. now her eyes look at an actual target and they move when it makes sense :)
0:48 why did they do my Chloe like that in the trailer 😭
cannot wait for this to hit switch.. i miss LiS so much
Considering the number of graphic related bugs the LiS Remasted Collection has I'm surprised you managed to get enough footage to make this video
how is the actual game both better and worse than the trailer
oh good, so they improved the shading and adjusted some of the goofy facials 👌
It's always nice to see improvement from early trailers.
It can be seen by the lighting they differ.
I don't know about you guys, but for me It's masterpiece in every way
it still looks really good though

I'm still Max Coldfield 🤣
Sometimes the shadows are better in the trailer
My 59th platinum is the first life is strange remastered but my first platinum was sherlock holmes the very first one on ps4 before devils dauther
I Definitely like the remaster look better but there was a couple scenes from e3 that were better
It's a pity that my entire playthrough of both games was plagued by bugs and glitches from small and irritating to completely game breaking and game stopping. The trailer has better lighting
Edit: Song name please?
Local Natives - Mt. Washington
Thankyou!
looks like they only upgraded the hair and face
Not picking LIS remastered up again until it's in 60 frames. I thought I bought an upgrade, and so I'll play it when everything is *upgraded* I guess.
And the screenshots comparison?
Check out my posts for more comparison
I kind of like the trailer better…
I just wish they have made a soft remake, u know. Like, the same game but with complete new gen visuals.
Song?
Mt Washington. By local natives
Reality looks 10× better
In general, the first game trailer and before the storm final version look better.
milder contrast?
i hate and fucking hate my life of this alternative’s one i wish i guess i wish a had max to change my life ps: im actually kin Chloe
this song so depressed wtf please
Reality is so much better!!
..Gee, never thought I'd utter that statement
sometimes maxs hair didnt blend in with her environment which i didnt like in reality
it's weird, in some scenes the trailer looks better, in others the reality looks way better, and mostly, they look the same! no bashing, just thought it was interesting to point out.
Some of it looks better some of it looks worse
Not the trailer actually looking better
整體TRAILER 好多了
Sorry chief, this is a terrible remaster
meh
