Cunningham Elementary School Principal Amy Simmons and teacher Ashley Strain jumped into action when classroom aide Paige Lockstedt went into labor during the school day.
Oh my word! That is an incredible story. These women are hero's helping a fellow teacher give birth to her preemie daughter who decided to make her appearance early and dramatic to make it more memorable. Hope baby girl can go home as soon as she is bigger and passes all her tests like eating and breathing on her own and can live a normal life with no health problems being born early. Mom deserves a long maternity leave to have time with her sweet miracle baby.
Wow!! It’s wonderful that the mother had such amazing people to help her!! My literature teacher had her water break on the first day of school. Glad baby girl seems to be doing well!!
This is what women do. 😂 We multitask above and beyond on a daily basis. 👏🏼 Blessings to the new mom and her baby. The baby was small but something tells me she is going to be a powerhouse. What a story to tell if she attends that school. "Ya, this is the bathroom I was born in" 😂she started school before she'd ever been in her own home.
Much love to mom and baby! I'm a teacher who was heavily pregnant while still teaching. I went into labor during school but delivered at night. So scary
Wonderful that this worked out. That being said, teaching is an emotionally and physically stressful job. We need to normalize longer leaves for teachers, nurses, physicians to protect against complications.
This is great, but I'm surprised that the nurse wasn't around for the delivery or checking on the newborn at all. Seems like the normal thing to do would be for the principal to call 9-11 and the nurse to deliver the baby, but good on the principal and fellow teacher for being there.
Well in Germany this would have never happened! Thanks America for having no protection laws against making heavily pregnant women work until the end. Here it is illegal to work 6 weeks before your due date and 8 weeks after delivery. There are medical reasons behind this, and to not have this implemented in the US law is just wrong.
2.5 lbs?!? So glad baby and mom are okay! Great job, ladies!

That baby must have been like 10-12 weeks early, yet healthy enough for a photo with the parents. That baby is already a strong little bugger!!!
They shared a special moment together.

Wishing the best for the Mom and baby❤ but I can imagine the reactions of the students once they hear this story
Wow glad baby and mother is ok

2 lb 19 oz??? How early was the baby? 😮
I thought the same thing but the baby was in mommas arms with out any tubes at the hospital so that little bugger is a tiny fighter
So sweet!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
That baby will have an interesting birth story to tell her friends when she’s older!
That is one of the most craziest stories I ever heard.
I saw the baby and thought maybe she has dwarfism. Glad she made it to the hospital!
The title had me thinking it was a student!
Teachers get horrible maternity leave so we literally have to teach until we go into labor 😢
There's no way that baby was 2 lbs. She was more healthy looking than that.
Congrats 🎉
imagen going to school knowing you were born in it
school is awesome
❤❤❤
Hopefully she’s okay, considering what school bathrooms are usually like

Luckily students didn’t witness anything.
