Did HIFU with Dr Scionti in 2021...he didn't sugarcoat it for me and let me make the decision on how much of my gland I wanted to cover. And..as he stated in terms of risks, I now have a couple of tumors in untreated areas so will go back to him to do the remainder of my prostate. Absolutely excellent dr. And I should say, between 2021 and 2024 I have absolutely enjoyed my life! Wow, that study!!! 15 years!
That is so good to hear. I have a scheduled FLA with Dr Sperling in April 2024. 2 areas of gleason 6 (3+3) and 2 gleason 7 (3+4). Dr Sperling has done over 1000 procedures.
Eighteen years ago, I had Gleason 5+5 and had radiation. Now, a PSMA shows cancer in my seminal duct and 2 nearby lymph nodes. Can you hit my seminal vessical with focal therapy, without damaging my bladder?
It depends of the type of cancer as to how it is treated. Most is Prostatic Adenocarcinoma, some is Cribriform, and I believe there are two other types. Cribriform is going to grow fast so it would be treated more quickly.
Electroporation is being done by Dr. Ranko at Duly Health & Care (based in Chicago area). He has an associate who is also doing Electroporation. I believe UCSF also does it but to what extent I’m not sure. Mayo Clinic has a trial study in process. I think EP originated or is strongly promoted in Australia.
Outside of the major centers of excellence, the average male in the United States has no idea of which treatment to choose and which doctor. Most urologist (surgeon) simply says cut the cancer out. This decision making requires the patient to educate themselves for a few hours.
If they use focal treatments like HIFU or laser, or cryotherapy to target the cancer on the prostate and create a margin why can't they do a partial prosectomy of the cancer area and create a margin??
If you have a peripheral tumor, do the healthy tissue in front of the tumor also get ablated with TULSA? So if you have a peripheral posterior tumor, HIFU would be better because it would kill less healthy tissue.

Had FLA with Dr. Sperling in 2015. Recent MRI/Biopsy has me on continued AS. Will see Dr. Geo for continued prostate health….

What’s your opinion on nano knife?
