    I'm overjoyed to see people discover the music of Pink Floyd! Welcome, my friend. Listening to Pink Floyd will take you to an emotional place EVERY time. Trust me, after listening to them for over forty years, I still get chills every time I listen.

    They have mega views because they are a multigenerational band. You got people 75 years old, 10 years old, and everything in between tuning into their masterpieces.
    You gotta watch The Wall if you haven't. It's an absolute trip. I highly recommend it. Best concept album ever penned.

    You should check out their 1994 Pulse Concert at Earls Court London. Some really phenomenal performances of some of their finest compositions. Like "Comfortably Numb", "Sorrow". "Money", "Learning to fly", and many more, with an incredible light and lazar show they are famous for! They're older in at that concert in 1994, the band formed in 1964 so it's 30 years later, and they're in their late 40s or early 50s in 94.

    Listen to the song "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" from the 1975 album Wish You Were Here - ideally in the studio version. It's great. Lots of instrumentals and very few lyrics (all the more powerful). It will shoot you to the moon! It's dedicated to former band member Syd Barrett, who was forced to leave them due to his excessive use of hard drugs and subsequent mental disorders. The whole album is inspired by his story and it's a gem!

    So cool to get to see you be touched by Pink Floyd for the first time, second, third times! I'll offer the standard Pink-Floyd-reaction stan advice: react to a whole album in one go, many of their albums are built with silky-smooth song transitions and over-arching themes, and there's definitely a TH-cam audience for full album reactions. Their golden-era is uncontroversially 1973-1979 with "Dark Side of the Moon," "Wish You Were Here," "Animals," and "The Wall." Definitely start with Dark Side, if you ask me- that's the album that really propelled them into superstardom and still their most iconic and bestselling. It will also give you a sense of how the band pivots over the course of the 70s if you listen to the rest of their catalogue! But if all this is too overwhelming and you're not so sure about the Pink Floyd commitment after reading this four-album-reaction-plan I've laid out then definitely just react to Echoes, the last song on their last (non-soundtrack) album before Dark Side. It is 24 minutes long, but afterward you'll have no doubt whether or not the Pink Floyd rabbit hole is for you!

    • @pauladobbs9875
      @pauladobbs9875 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      100% agree! Whole album way to go! Animals start to finish bloody amazing! Dark side of the moon... Everything about pink floyd is just the best!

    I've never really taken the time to fully listen to Pink Floyd's music until recently, and now I'm totally interested in learning more about them and hearing more of their music... To me, they're not a band, they're an EXPERIENCE!!! I wished I had seen them in concert with my own eyes and ears... Legends of music is an understatement.. Thanks for a great reaction video!

    A lot of so-called diehard Pink Floyd fans hate their later stuff, yet, as you said: the artistry is there. Almost more so.
    First time I heard this it touched my soul.
    Yeah, I mighta cried, Jussa lil bit 😂.
    Mind you, I’ve been following their work since Atom Heart Mother and Saucerful of Secrets.
    A LOOOOoong time.
    This goes down as a masterpiece, IMHO.

    The bell in this song is " The Division Bell". It's kinda like the gavel in a courtroom. Except that the bell signals a new session of the house of parliament in the UK. Unlike here in the US where we are excluded from the inner workings of the congress and senate.

    The title The Division Bell for this album was suggested to them by Hitch hikers Guide to the Galaxy author Douglas Adams. As others say, listen to classic 70's PF albums in one go. They're all just single pieces with the songs melting into each other. PF made rock albums as art. In Pulse 1994, they perform their masterpiece Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety.
