Dianno Maiden is the essence of Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden and Killers albums are masterpieces. For me, the best Maiden Albums, althoug I love all Maiden did with Bruce. It is just a different thing, its much more comercial and for a bigger audience. But the raw and real Maiden for me is with Paul.

It would be interesting to see how things would have gone for them if they had carried on with Paul. I think they would have had a Motorhead level of success. I'm not sure if they would have become the arena filling band that they are today.

Exactly my man, the only albums I have left are the two with Di’Anno and Live After Death. Bruce is by far the better singer but the two albums are the best and his voice suited the punkier edge to the music.
This the DRIFTER EP. This was released a couple weeks before the first album here in the States. When I went to buy the first album the next day after hearing it, this was all the record store had available. This is why I consider myself one of America’s first Maiden fans.
Well I wish when I die I’ll go to another dimension where Iron Maiden went on with Paul DiAnno and Clive Burr I just cannot imagine how far (towards a different direction) they would have gone... towards a more punk-hard rock-raw heavy metal. I believe I’m not the only one who thinks there are two completely different Iron Maiden’s, but yet still the same band

Saw them in '80 or '81 (not sure, mind's a bit of a blur nowadays) in Belgium, in the Roma in Borgerhout (off all places) and in all honesty, best gig I ever saw!

This video is just pure masterpiece from a time when these guys were just doing what they dreamed of doing. who would have thought how big and how great they would all turn out to become, in name and memory, obviously not forgetting past members who forged the sound of this iconic band. I always try to imagine what Iron Maiden would sound like today if Paul DiAnno and Clive Burr were still in the band, Clive Burr would unfortunately still have had MS, but who knows, its hard to imagine Iron Maidens greatness without Bruce, but again knows. A classic video that needs to remain here for all to enjoy👌
They did two nights at the Marquee in May 1980. The Drifter B side was recorded on one of these nights - I presume this video is one of them nights so it's 50/50! - great gig. My band were rehearsing once in Leytonstone Allan Gordon's in 1979 - there was this beautiful racket coming from the next room - it was this lot!

My fave album. Missed Paul show saw Number in New York. There is no universe with Paul and Maiden 45 years later because Paul wasn’t a professional and had no dedication. This line up and energy … well you feel it. Would of been a different Maiden sound. But Bruce made them a lasting Metal band and has more to do with their success than Paul. And Denis Stratton not Adrian so pretty cool video. Best band ever.

This would be the best use of a time machine. Just go back and see these early concerts. I bet one more bloke in the audience wouldn't upset the time line.

My fave album. Missed Paul show saw Number in New York. There is no universe with Paul and Maiden 45 years later because Paul wasn’t a professional and had no dedication. This line up and energy … well you feel it.
Would of been a different Maiden sound. But Bruce made them a lasting Metal band and has more to do with their success than Paul. And Denis Stratton not Adrian so pretty cool video. Best band ever.
Maiden was punk rock metal with Di’Anno. Would had been interesting to see how they would had done if he had stayed in the band.
