  • Is your air compressor is running continuously but not building pressure? This can mean a few things.
1 - Air leaks? Isolate your air compressor and check that it can build pressure to the vessel in a timely manner
2 - Check your air intake filter as shown in video (Blockages or faulty intake filters will restrict)
3 - Check the internal valves and gaskets - a broken valve or gasket is more likely to be the issue if the above are fine.
This video will demonstrate on how to identify these issues. Always contact your manufacturer if this will void any warranties before disassembling your pump. The air compressor used in this video is a Peerless P14 fitted with a N75 industrial pump. This pump has a manufacturer warranty of 5 years. Depending on your air compressor (if a Peerless model) the valve and gaskets will vary, so be sure to check out the Peerless Products spare parts page to easily identify the right components www.peerlessproducts.com.au/c...
The information provided in this video can be helpful on any type of piston air compressor.

60 gallon compressor keeps running. Only runs up to about 70 psi it’s a 90psi to 135psi compressor . But won’t get to its set point. Could this be my problem also. Builds up air. Just won’t shut off. No leaks anywhere. Maybe check valve in tank at the top?

Hi there Jason, if it just keeps running and running, will not shut off it would be the valves in the head of the air compressor. You'd need to take the heads off to replace the valves or gasket that have worn/broken.
      I hope this helps.

My compressor starts working and builds pressure up to 150psi but sometimes during work it will not start and won't keep tank charged. Sometimes it turns on only for a few seconds then goes quiet. Sometimes I hears something that it wants to start like air going somewhere through the pipe for about 2 second and then quiets and stays like that. Fails to keep up pressure in tank when I use it. Pressure goes low as 50psi but compressor doesn't start. Then I had to open drain valve to release remaining air pressure in the tank. Disconnect it from AC power for few minutes and it starts working again build up to 150psi again. I don't hear any air leaks. What could be wrong? Jow to fix it?
