Absolute killer show!! The chemistry between Pete, Steven and Simon is magnificent, and Steven's enthusiasm for this band is HUGE! We just discovered them about 3 yrs. ago-- "Blessed & Possessed" and "Sacrament of Sin" are the CD favorites, the songs "Incense & Iron," "Mr. Sinister," "Murder at Midnight" & "Dead Until Dark" are absolute necessities (and the hype sticker on "Blessed..." is awesome!). Don't have the new release yet. Thanks guys, everyone at our house anticipates these shows with you three. Cheers!
@@TranquilityFireReid Hi Steven . Thanks for your input .I got there last album and I really like it so will check out the rest from them. I find that some bands I can get into their music from the start but outher band it takes some time. Also I think that band still want to have great artwork on on CDs as I think lots of people just stream music So good for them
Just caught up with this episode after I heard a Powerwolf track and wanted to hear more. Great episode and I always love a video with Pete, Simon and Steven.
I love powerwolf and only discovered them about a year ago and it it was the most fortuitous findings ever. Even my younger daughter who is the only one in my family unit that doesn’t listen to Rock, (where did I go wrong?), loves it.
The timing could not have been better on this video. I recently got back into Powerwolf after having forgotten about them for a while. An excellent power metal group. The new album is great!
Love Powerwolf, such a fun band. 1. Blood of the saints 2. Bible of the beast 3. Blessed and possessed 4. Call of the wild 5. The sacrament of sin. 6. Lupus dei 7. Return in bloodred 8. Preachers of the night
This was just too much damn fun to watch. Hilarious and entertaining as well as informative - always the results, it seems, when Simon, Steven and Pete are in the show. Never heard of the band but interesting that their most recent is the top choice but both with an excellent cover interpretation by Pete. So will be listening to that and see what else of theirs may have to be added to the listening library. Thanks so much to all three of you for this great episode. Looking forward to next show with all of you.
Slowly catching up on back episodes I missed during my trip last month. I so enjoy these shows with Simon and Steven. I'm thinking they should take over SOT while Pete is on vacation! 😂
Great show guys. Made me smile. I think I am Powerwolfed out lol. Got on board early on. Thought at first wow something different. Enjoyed the first few albums but unfortunately and I agree with you all you know what you're going to get a la AC/DC and Sabaton also. I have seen probably 12 times in Europe at festivals etc over the years. The shows are well presented don't get me wrong, but they are somewhat the same same jokes etc, Falk running around with his flag etc . Wish they would try something a bit different. The fist pumping and crowd fever perhaps isn't me anymore lol. Metal Masses if you get what I mean. Had a nice Meet & Greet in Germany 🇩🇪 no charge great guys though. I would be interested to know why they have never made it to USA. They have a lot of fans. I think the problem is where they would play. Too small to play 5,000 plus venues which they do regularly in Europe or a small club which means no pyro a dilemma. Interesting fact guys, one of the Greywolfs has a fear of flying. So when they tour Russia where they are massive replacement guitarist is employed, who happens to be guitarist with German power metal band Mystic Prophecy. PW band I go back to now and then. Great show hope I wasn't too controversial. Cheers Ps I live about 20 miles from Simon
I saw them live at bloodstock back in the early 10's and they were great. For me I struggle to find the will to listen to them these days unless I'm in the right mood I won't put them on but if they pop on my shuffle and I listen to one song I will listen to a whole album. Also raising your fist is always cool.
I feel ya, when I was first getting into metal (about 13-14 yrs old) I loved it so much, now I'm into Thrash for the most part and this just isn't "heavy" enough for me, think it'll be similar to bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest where I'll listen to them when driving and I want more "fun" music rather than blazing solos
I am enjoying the videos with these two British guys the most at the moment, perhaps even more right now than Popoff or the Hudson Valley Squares. Total entertainment 🤣
Fantastic stuff. Not a huge fan of the band but clicked the video just to listen to these two talk hahahahaha. Their chemistry is brilliant and also love the Sean dyche reference can definitely imagine Simon talking like him
I saw them on the blessed and possessed tour but discovered them with Blood of the Saints. It was one of the first metal albums outside of Metallica I got a hold of - it's also my favourite. I rediscover and discover some Power Metal now after years of listening to exclusively underground classic and extreme metal, almost completely disregarding Power Metal other than Blind Guardian. Blood of the Saints definitely gets another spin, but I remember really digging the Lupus Dei title track.
I hadn't head of Powerwolf, still I stumbled across the video for Dancing with the Dead, and I was like oh f@#c, how have I not heard of this band? Yes Bible of the Beast is insanely awesome!
Great video chaps The Sacrament of Sin is a great album, any more of these shows and Pete will have to invest in a medieval suit of armour and placed just to his left. Does Attila Bray know David Readman is from Burnley. 👍
Any chance of a Rage album ranking? A large and consistent discography, catchy as all hell and still going very strong today. And it has to be all the albums. No top 5, 10 or 15... or even 20.
For me my favorite Powerwolf album is easily Blessed and Possessed. Track for track to me it’s the best record by these guys. The title track, Army of the Night, Christ & Combat, Armata Strigoi, Higher than Heaven, Sacramental Sister and others are some of the best songs they’ve ever written. Although the two albums that followed it, The Sacrament of Sin and Call of the Wild for me aren’t far behind.
Just wanted to let you know that Kerry Livgren's Cantata, on which he has been working for several decades, has finally been released. My copy should be here any day. The reviews I have read say that it is nothing short of magnificent. But don't expect prog or Kansas-like music. It is a true Cantata where the main instrumentation is the human voice. And other than drums, which are wonderfully played by Phil Ehart, all instruments are played by Kerry himself. I just can't wait to listen to it!
Now that Pete has been pretty much a Powerwolf spectator for the entire duration of the video here, I’d love to see a follow up post after he has listened to them so he can let us know his own thoughts on the band.
1) Lupus Dei 2) Blessed & Possessed 3) Return in Blood 4) Bible of the Beast 5) The Sacrament of Sin 6) Blood of the Saints 7) Preachers of the Night 8) Call of the Wild
I have to be honest Powerwolf is the kind of band that makes me go: "People actually listen to that crap!?!". I'm not much of a power-metal fan, but I'll give them a try for sure. Great show gentlemen!
Wow, Steve Bannon looks bad. Before you start listening to Powerwolf, why not listen to something else first? In fact, almost anything else. There are so many good metal bands from Germany you should rather spend your time with. Space Chaser from Berlin for example. Their new album "Give Us Life" is out on Metal Blade Recdords. th-cam.com/video/9l0bUp6WCtk/w-d-xo.html

Simon quick question what do you think of the bonus disc of covers of PW with latest cd 💿?
It wasn't included in the vinyl.
@@simonbrayfromsot1375 its not brilliant from what I have heard.
The guys have sold me. I'm going to get some Powerwolf!
Excellent news! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for that JTV!
Never heard of them, so I checked out their song "Dancing with the Dead". That was great!
Excellent news CW!
32:23 same thing with me! I workout about 1hr and 15 mins and i usually pick 1 or 2 that goes along with my workout time
Steve gonna make Pete go broke between that Uriah Heep picture disc box and this collection

One of the best modern metal bands 🤘🏼
What a hoot of a show! So what were they talking about?
If you find out, let us know! Thanks for watching!

The Steven Reid Sweepstake.......only 13 'Do you knows?' for an hour long session!

Does Attila Bray know David Readman is from Burnley. 👍
Good to see some of the European bands getting recognition. Anything similar planned for the likes of Sabaton, Alestorm etc?
Very cool band, but I haven’t bought their latest album yet. Gotta order that right now!

Yes. At Manchester Academy. I think I mention it in the show.
@@simonbrayfromsot1375 sorry Simon asked my question before you mentioned it a few times to peeve Steven lol like the stickers great show 😀

Can't ask for more than that purpletemple1. I hope you like them more than you think you might. Thanks for watching!
I am not sure if like them there imagery sort of reminds me of ghost
Powerwolf? Sounds like a cartoon for kids made to sell action figures.
They sound like that too.
Powerwolf remind me of Jamie Laszlo's pizza from that Homework Assignment video the other night. Terrible band.
