I've got totally organic foods grass fed or rancher meat I'm 51 and now I eat different and take natural herbs for medications I'm in much better shape. I try to stay out of hospitals they don't have the knowledge of our blood type growing up military they understood the difference they treated my sicknesses differently that civilian docs it's very concerning they group everyone together and we are so very different. I also have AB- blood and my wife O. With all our 4 daughters, the Pediatrician took extra effort in monitoring them days after being born while at the hospital as their bodies were switching to what their actual blood type would be. My wife's OB-GYN explained it to us that there's an inherent incompatibility with our blood types which might lead our newborn babies to be jaundiced days after delivery. This is statistically impossible because parents pass genes for blood type to children and if both parents are AB+ then the child born has a 99% chance of being AB+. O- type here and I have been donating since 18 y.o…..now 70y.o.! I DO have one complaint. I think, if you are a blood donor and eventually NEED blood…they should NOT charge you for it (or at least up to however much you have actually donated.) I had a serious accident when I was 27 y.o. and almost bled out and died. I remember when I looked over the hospital bills, seeing all the blood charges and it kind of irked me, since I’d been donating for years. I’ve also donated platelets and, wow, does that ever knock me on my ass for a couple of days afterwards…..Ironically, my late longtime GF was a phlebotomist (her side gig…we were both touring musicians.) I also lived in New Orleans for years (still own a house there) and my current GF is from Romania…so I’ve heard a LOT of vampire jokes.🤣😂

So when I was 5 class, our classroom teacher asked everyone about their blood type, when my no.came I was B- she said only animals have b- blood group you must be b+ , so I thought I could be because everyone in my Entire family is b+ , but later on I findout , I really did have b- blood group . And yes I have donated my blood in my school twice.

    • @moonlightshadows9994

The positive and negative factors represent the D antigen. If your blood cells have the D antigen then your blood type is positive and if your blood cells do not have the D antigen then you are classified as a negative blood group. I hope that answers your question.

There is a huge misconception about blood donation among people inbthe world. That misconception is that people think a person with ab positive blood can receive any blood type.i agree that they can receive red blood cells without plasma. But the problem comeswith plasma as it may contain antibodies. For an example , think for a moment your blood type is ab positive and my blood type is o negative. What will realy happen if you were given my o negative blood with plasma. Then antibodies in yoyr blood react with antigens in my red blood cells , resulting in clotting. I havent seen clear clarification regarding this matter. On the other hand a person with o negative blood can give only their blood cells without plasma , for any blood type . Please correct , if l am wrong

Unfortunately, I can’t donate plasma, as I have the antigens behind the TRALI syndrome as a result of the birth of my AB+ son. Knowing I can make a difference for preemies, newborns, AIDS patients, burn victims, and anyone with immune system challenges, means I’m happy to get my Red Cross reminder phone calls.

O negative blood is recessive so both parents must be negative for a baby to be negative. I am O negative, as were both of my parents and brothers. My husband is O positive. Both of my children are O positive so after the first, there can be a mixing of blood which causes the blood of the mom to build up antibodies that will attack the blood of successive babies. These babies were called blue babies and often survived through receiving complete transfusions shortly after birth. Luckily, a mom receiving a shot of the appropriate rogam (maybe misspelled) prevents the them from developing these dangerous antibodies. Modern medical science saves lives. Very interesting info.

Actually, it's not true that both parents need to be Rh negative in order to have a Rh negative child. If both Rh positive parents have a hidden recessive trait, it can show up in their kid's blood type.
For example my parents are 0+, and I was born with 0- blood
