But the fact that many doctors never disclose the potential side effects of the pill to young girls (and grown women) is unacceptable. I'm 38 and have just gotten my libido back after 23 years of almost zero desire, thanks in large part to being on hormonal birth control all those years.
I decided to get on the hormonal birth control ring a year and a half ago, right before my wedding, and I'm getting off it now, because my libido is dead now, and I hate it. My libido dropping also caused depressive episodes, anger and irritability, and extreme mood swings, NONE of which I ever had before. I hate it. HATE. IT. I used to have a really high libido! It perfectly matched my husband's and it was so great. But at this point, a year and a half later, it's basically nonexistent. I never want to do it, and I'm not even interested in having my own climaxes! It's like the sexual side of me is just dead, and it has made me so sad that I had depressive episodes, like I said. Which I've NEVER had before, and is very scary. And the ANGER! I HATE being angry or upset at my sweet husband so often for the smallest things. I tell him that it's not his fault, that I KNOW it wasn't a big deal, that I'm just feeling angry or irritated even though I don't need to be. But it's putting a strain on our marriage, because up until I got on the ring, I was the happiest, most easy going, low maintenance girl ever. I'm just so done with this. I didn't pick Fertility Awareness birth control a year and a half ago because I was worried that it wouldn't be as affective, but I've seen so much evidence to the contrary at this point, that I'm going for it. Girls, PLEASE PLEASE strongly consider ANYTHING but hormonal birth control, if you're married. At this point, the ring has f-ed up my life so much I would rather have more responsibility to prevent getting pregnant than what I'm stuck with now. Hell, I'd rather have a BABY than continue living in this joyless, libido-less, depressed, unhappy existence.
I sincerely hope you make more videos soon, even if it’s on different subjects. This set of videos was really helpful to me. And honestly, you have a really calming voice that just makes it really easy to listen to what you’re saying. Thank you for these!
