    At 1:30, the only part that’s right in the pyramid is nutrition. Sport comes next as kids learn to play before optimizing. Weightlifting is used to optimize maybe a vertical leap, powertrain torque for swing sports like baseball, tennis, golf etc. Gymnastics doesn’t even make the pyramid but is an indication of the creators personal gymnastics biased, I would add mobility in its place. To make this meta, CrossFit is now just the sport of fitness.

      Gymnastics in this context is referred to as controlling your body, you need to be able to control your body in space before moving external objects like throwing. The better you can control your body the better you will be able to control it in sport.

      @@crossfitchicagoheights1132 seriously? Did Serena Williams, Roger Federer, LebronJames or Lionel Messi ever do gymnastics no, they picked up a ball and threw, kicked it, swung it as far as possible. Gymnastics is a personal bias of the CrossFit creator. It’s great for the sport of CrossFit.
