In terms of habichuelas, we tend to use pintos although black beans aren't unheard of. And we usually put it all on a bed of corn tortillas. Other than that, it is pretty much the same thing.

I live in Colombia and when I moved here I was quite surprised to find that the food is completely different from Mexican food, which is my favorite. Luckly for me, my wife is a great cook and learned many Mexican dishes.

Master cook or chef? Nahhh. These are simple ingredients. You can learn to chop up veggies on TH-cam. You don’t have to be a master chef/cook, you just need to sprinkle your food with love.

It seems that I have found my new favorite TH-cam channel. This video was nothing short of amazing. These women are special and the food was beautiful leaving me with con las ganas de comer y despues hambre. My favorite part was when you were deep into the meal and dona lupita was looking at you as if you were a son, grandson or nephew. I’m just an old guy. I’m so lucky I have Mexican neighbors that can really cook. We share and I do my best but I get the best end of that deal. All the traditional Mexican food is out of this world.

my grandma taught me how to fry eggs like that when i was young i always broke my eggs when flipping them so she showed me to baste them in hot oil so you don't have to flip.

I never ate black beans growing up. My parents were from Jalisco, my mom usually cooked pinto beans and frijoles Peruanos.
