  • The Sharper Turtle provides concise (4-8 min.) software tutorials for video editing software (PowerDirector - Edius - Media Composer First - Premiere Elements), Office products and other applications.

Thanks Jim, I found this to be a particularly useful approach. I was trying to solve the scrolling text a number of different ways, all more complex than yours. You have restored my sanity.

Well, that's a huge compliment Don. Glad you found an approach that simplified the process a bit. Thanks so much for your feedback. --Jim

Here I am keeping you honest again...Lol. You should have reminded us to extend the star field track to cover the length of the extended paragraphs. Also, I started with your Titler Pro version of this first. It seems that PD's effects version has the text fade as it reaches the infinity point. I did not notice TP doing something similar. As usual all your tuts deserve a thumbs up. Lastly, I am trying to emulate an effect from apparently done with another video editing software (software unknown). How can I ask you for some help?

      Chris,
One of the problems of producing tutorials is that I frequently omit tips like the ones you mention. When I go back and look at the finished product I ask myself, "Why didn't I say something about that?" Wish I could edit existing tutorials on TH-cam, but that's not possible. (I understand why.) So those oversights are annoying.
I could have shown how to end the video by adjusting the opacity with keyframes, but that still wouldn't perfectly copy the effect of the original. And it would have made the tutorial video longer than I preferred.
Do you have a OneDrive or DropBox account where you can leave the video you are trying to mimic so I can see what you are attempting to do? If you want to leave a blog post at the SharperTurtle.com we can email offline as well.

I saved a FB video ad's URL with the effect that was created in it. How best to communicate that URL to you?

      Chris,
Include the URL as a post on my blog here: community.sharperturtle.com/blog/
It doesn't matter which post you respond to. I'll have your email so we can go back and forth via email.
