That Cleveland/torp example was excellent. I hope people learn from this ... I had one game where a Zao was constantly torping from behind me (Kagero). At one time I had to slam on the brakes and turn the other way to avoid his torps which brought me into Missouri radar and I got instantly deleted by Missouri + Kronshtad.
Not to mention that while the torps didn't kill the Cleveland, they were a reason Cleve died. If he pushed behind the island, he would likely eat only one Musashi salvo, and at this range a broadside salvo was likely to overpen him. Instead, he was forced to kite in the open, giving Musashi multiple chances of killing him.
This one was definitely a big oof after Edinburgh. I feel the British line has real variations in play style from tier to tier which you wouldn’t see initially from just looking at the stats.

I think you can adapt. Actually it is my most successful ship so far. Currently grinding for Mino, my 2nd T10 ship ever. 29 matches, 72% WR, 1.4k PR... that's very good for my player-level. It is very inconsistent though. 90% of my games I am either top 3 of team or I get blapped. XD

I agree with you. Neptune is about my favorite British ship and until about two months ago it was my highest scoring ship base XP vise. I think it is still my fastest grind from tier 9 up to 10 ever.

Agreed. I've had a blast in this line ever since the Fiji. Neptune is no different. I even started running radar while on Edin, and have kept that play style on Neptune, despite assurances that it can't "work". I can always fall back on smoke if I'm struggling, but %65 WR for me is very strong, so I'm sticking with it. That kind of versatility is rare and fun. My AA is lethal too, which I enjoy with so many CV's in queue these days. I love the ship. I must say though, I've played every cruiser line to at least t8, and nothing gets blapped harder than this thing, so far. Angled? BB's laugh at your "angles"! I can understand why some players struggle with it ;0)

My last Amagi game as we were getting into position I had complained that the guns had really been letting me down. I usually have pretty good results with those guns but I hadn't been able to buy a citadel all day. Just seconds after I said that, the enemy Neptune appeared about 14km out, and my guns were pointed that way, so I sent a full salvo out. BLAP! 5 citadel Dev strike for first blood. I'll never doubt Amagi again.

23:25 No Last Stand skill? Whatever; you know what you're doing better than I do. Great vid and very timely; I have only a few games in this ship and so far I suck in it.
Gotta love the British cruisers atm. The smoke is useless in my Minotaur on the SEA server, every game sees 3-4 radar ships, so I have adapted to the meta by becoming one myself. The Worcester is just better. Longer range, and HE. Ugh. As a Minotaur you have to keep firing to get the damage up there, aim for superstructure and the bow of ships. As a Worcester? Just point at the enemy and farm away. They set a couple of fires and they can “go dark” letting their fires burn. I also noticed far far more over pens on the Worcester than on the Minotaur, I have had my own Missouri burned down by a Worcester in the open and our whole team once watched a Yamato suffer the same fate and both sides remarked on it in chat. Return fire either misses or over pens. The Worcester has crushed the British line and I just wanted to say that here.
I still find the smoke viable but to make it viable you gotta be less of a capping ship and to just use it to lob into caps/behind them. the smoke becomes most strong late in games where you can actually use it to push remaining forces.
I very much agree with not fitting the gun range upgrade on Neptune. I did on mine, and it was actually a nuisance, I was getting spotted by ships 19km away on the other flank when firing from behind islands at targets on my own side. Commander skills are pretty damn similar to what I ran, though I think I had Last Stand instead of Jack of All Trades.
I had a fantastic time on Neptune, one of the easiest, fun grinds I've ever done in the game. However, that concealment to me made her uncomfortable at times. Tier 8 Edinburgh gets 9.1km detection, Tier X Minotaur under 9km. But Neptune sticks out in Tier 9 by being the worst concealment for these High Tier RN Cruisers. Everything else I was fine with. I really enjoyed getting back not only a torpedo heavy loadout, but these are 10km torpedoes.

I cant remember the last game when I didn't take multiple citadels. One game I took 3 citadels from a Musashi blind-firing into my smoke from 15km away. Why IS there a T9 speedbump? I notice it in Ibuki AND Seattle. It's almost like they want to increase your anticipation before reaching T10. But there's no need, I'm happy enough just to progress. Ibuki is just no fun after Mogami, and Atago is just awesome. I just can't get to Zao because I seem to be unable to get Ibuki to work for me.

You use the range to your advantage against battleships and cruisers that can't return fire as accurately. When you can safely do so, you go to around 10-11 km to utilise the radar and destroy destroyers/Wreck cruisers that you can pen with AP. Your key traits are speed and range, so use them. Last patch Dmitri was buffed slightly, as now it's rear turrets have the same angle forward (where previously one of them had worse angle.)
I just noticed something weird I do unique to your channel. When I load your vids I automatically hit the "like" before play. I'm not sure when I started doing that but I do know why. I always come away with something positive. A tip that could improve my game, a different way of thinking in a given situation, a spotlight on a bad habit I didn't know I had, or even a reason to play a ship I never wanted to even try. I could go on but the point is there's always something I can take away to improve my game. I don't agree with everything 100% especially in terms of builds, but that has more to do with the fact that I am twice your age and have the reflexes of a glue-sniffing rat. I don't need to agree with everything and don't even expect to. I had a WTF moment when you sent those torps at the Musashi but then you went ahead and highlighted what a bonehead move that was, and why. Nice. Bottom line: Thanks for adding a dimension to this game I don't get elsewhere. Please keep up the good work. I haven't been giving back but that's a wrong I can fix, and I will. Das Bat

Flamu can you do a Yubari review?
Can you do Dmitri Donskoi? I feel as if it's worse than Neptune xD
Das Bat
I got 20.7 range on the Roon :D
As a Scotsman I have to let you know that HMS Edinburgh is not pronounced as "Edin-Burrow", in Scotland it is pronounced "Edin-bruh".
lol now I feel bad I always play WoWs drunk
Which is better T9 Cruiser? Neptune or Ibuki
Just "played" my first round of Neptune. Got onshoted by the first salvo of the enemy team. 0 dmg
so humble....
Hmmm... was saving up to pay for the Neptune... not sure I want it now...
Tom Riley Why tho,it's one of the best cruisers at tier 9.
@@sopmodtew8399 got it now - absolutely love it - so much fun! I've been setting personal damage records with it - no idea why flamu thinks it's a speed bump - buffalo in the US heavy cruiser line is far far worse!
Tom Riley i have more dmg dealt in the Minotaur but still ,neptune is my favorite ship in the line.
@@sopmodtew8399 looking forward to the Mino but don't have it yet!
I had a more brutal map in my Neptune last week... Ocean with a tier 10 CV...
OUCH!
Last time I had Ozean, I was in a Zao.
Did 235k dmg. AND LOST.
@@billd2558 Surprisingly I did survive but with minimal damage dealt, most of my xp came from plane kills...
Hello, can you tell me please what kind of crossair have you?
23:59 why not ?, It'll be fun
how did you get all those flags? I am always low on flags..
Except for Kronstard, Neptune is best win rate ship in IX :)))
@@feanorn8409 No, i always play alone. Rarely i play with divisions :)). I don't understand why I play Neptune better than Mino
.
When you remember the last planet in our solar system and a WoWs TH-camr posts a video about it
British Cruiders are very soft. One time when I played my Gneisenau I made a blind shot into smoke, 2 citadels on Leander and it was simply destroyed...
yup, that was probably me.... happened more times that I want to admit...
@@davidburton2229 i dont think youve been... it was over a year ago
