Was an honour to have served with some of the men in the video. I was trained by "chalky" white and had the great honour of calling Rikki one of my very good mates. He was a great mate in and out of uniform.
I'll never forget the day in Belize when i was told about Rikki 😥. RIP all

Chalky was also my platoon SGT, Strensall 89.
I was there when Rikki died..... Salamanca camp, Belize 91.

Chalky had been promoted to SGT by 89 when I landed in Strensall.
The heat of the jungle got Rikki Tikk. We got him to the Med Centre at Salamanca but Ken Cannon could do nothing for him. He was choppered out the next day.
I can still see the Puma leaving the footy pitch at Salamanca 😔😔🇬🇧🇬🇧

Rikki was a very fit lad..... still can't get my head round it. How the heat got him. He was hallucinating, shouting incoherently, then just dropped!! 😔😔🇬🇧🇬🇧

So very sad, and.although I never knew these 'Brothers' it's always heartbreaking to hear of such losses, and my heart goes out to their families, for their pain is the heaviest to bear. I only hope that they may take some comfort from the knowledge that our memories of their loved ones lives on.
