As a mother who lost a child 51 years ago DeeJay I can atest that you never get over that loss of a child. You know God had a purpose but the mothers heart there's always a missing piece. I remember my daughter every year on her birthday, I know one day I'll see her again.
I lost mine in 2008 at age 29 hugs to you
Hugs..I lost my adult son less than a month after he retired from the Army after 20 years. It’s been ten years ago last month.

I am Memaw Left here on Friday the 11th to have a great family night at the Farm Show Demo Derby. Not knowing what was ahead of us all. Fun and excitement turned into fear and heartbreak when my 16yr old grandson life flighted to Children's in Pittsburgh with severe head injuries where he was in seizures and not being able to function. PRAYERS WENT OUT . When we finally got to bring him home a couple days later we had to put shoes on, walk him, take care of him. I went to their home to help. I did get home today as he stood with me and hugged me and making huge steps in getting better. Its going to be a long road. But when my daughter dropped me off got me settled and headed home. I locked my door, turned around and cried so hard, thanking God for answering our prayers. I have cried and cried because I could finally let it out. I no longer had to be so strong for others was holding on to it all. Also for the prayers and those answered.
Im 64 year old grandad, they call me Popi. I dont cry, but after reading your story I was close. GOD BLESS you Memaw.

@@yomudd4x443 I am curious as to why you don't cry. I'm 61, and while I don't cry all the time, I have no issues at all crying when a situation warrants it. God gave us a whole range of emotions, and crying is just as good as any of the others.
I lost my daughter when she was 54. My brother lost a child at 36 hours. It’s a horrendous loss any time. Sorry to hear of anyone’s loss. 💔💔💔

We lost a son at 14 months old due to an accident, so I know personally what the Smith family goes through on a daily basis. My heart and prayers go out to them.

Unfortunately drowning is the number one cause of death in 1-4 yr olds. From ages 5-14 drowning is still the second highest cause of unintentional death after automobile crashes. It's really hard to get past especially if there's too much self-blame and should-a, could-a, would-a-isn or worse finger pointing. I've seen marriages fall apart after an accidental child's death with the blame game. Any of the above is never going to bring that child back and it leaves one with resentment and bitterness keeping you from moving forward .
I had a strange "dream" once when I was really sick as a kid it was all bright and then I was b y a stream with trees with tire swings and climbing rope swings and children everywhere. Some were flying kites Some were playing with pets. Or playing ball. The best part was JESUS was sitting on a log telling stories to all the littlest ones. As I approached he offered me a space to sit next to him. I was just filled with a sense of peace and amazement. Then Jesus said to me it was not yet my time and it became foggy and cloudy and I could no long see anything. I woke up in my bed and was told some horriffic fever I had broke. I have two sisters that died at childbirth. I could "feel" them there. Just know if you lost a young child, they are hanging out with Jesus and angels ❤

I've always said that the worst thing in life has to be losing a child and thankfully, I don't know what that's like and hope I never do.. my sons are in their 30's and I have 3 granddaughters and I never want any of them to go before me. My heart breaks for anyone that's ever lost a child.

I lost my son 20 yrs ago when he was 28 from a rare form of cancer. It wasn't usually found in people as young as he was. Oddly, when he was 4, his best friend came down with a rare form of cancer for someone his age! I am sure that the two of them are currently together comparing notes in heaven. They were both 2 of the strongest fighters I've ever seen; right to the end.
I got Granger's book, and saving it to read on Vacation next week. I cried over their videos, too. I hope you didn't get kicked, DeJay! Can't wait for the next video!
Have learned to go forward after losing my girlfriend in 2016. I'll never get over it nor forget, but she wouldn't ever want me to giveup and not go forward and get the best out of life that God has given. It's help in my sobriety and stay on the right track. We all have trials but if you confront them with a positive attitude you will privail. It's is better to trust in the Lord then to put confidence in man Psalm118:8.

My niece was a victim of homicide last week and there's no clues as to who is responsible. It's been gut wrenching grief for us since. You sort of like just go through the motions. We laid her to rest Monday. To hear a mother you've known for more than half your 61 years cry out in complete and utter anguish is something you won't soon forget. She was only 25 years old with a small son. Love you guys.

We are not guaranteed days on earth, and we have no control on tomorrow. We all travel through life, and we have people that enter and exit our life. After losing my only child it took a long time to understand this. I have ordered his book and eager to read. Thank you for sharing!.

Thank you so much for recommending Granger Smith's book! I had listened to his music now and then but I had not gotten much into his backstory. I knew he was from Texas, but that was about all I knew. His backstory is phenomenal! And I discovered that he used to live less than two miles from me and now lives less than 30 miles from me! I will have to look into going to the next Yee Yee celebration. I have been binge watching their channels and cannot wait for the book to arrive!
I read Granger’s book and it was so so good and heart touching.

Granger’s book was one of the best that I have ever read about grief and I highly recommend reading it. He is so brutally honest and my heart always feels a little broken for he and Amber when I think about River. I have been watching The Smith’s for a long time and enjoyed watching all of their kids including Riv and enjoyed his antics so much and when I learned of his passing I felt so broken hearted for all of their family. He was a very special little boy and not scared of anything. I pray for then everyday and have watched their battle with grief and cried along with them. So very proud saying that I am a follower of their channel and am looking forward to seeing where they go from here. Get the book and read their story…You won’t regret it!

A long time ago I met Granger on y'all's channel and found out he had a youtube channel. I've been watching them ever since as being a native Texan. The way I see it Yee Yee is a Texas brand and I do have a tee shirt with Yee Yee on it and wear it proudly. The Smith's are really great people. I do appreciate the fact I met them through y'all. I do look forward to his movie that will be coming out. I've looked for his book but haven't found it yet. I love the donkeys and if they allowed them in my neighborhood I would be tempted to get one but they don't. I do keep up with Jessie and she is doing so good. Enjoyed and thanks. Love y'all

We lost an 11 month old due to downs syndrome. What a gift he was. I'm with you DeJay, I am so proud of The Smiths. This CRPS (look it up) has changed my life. I call it CRAP. So your family and all the You Tube Families have been such a blessing to me! Oh wow!! congrats on the new baby!!! Oh boy-- a cliff hanger! So sorry for their loss. We all deal with things differently, as long as we deal with it!! That's what my brother told me after Dad passed. I've had to tell myself that repeatedly in the last couple years. I lost him and another brother within 3 days of each other and 3 sisters, a nephew, and 2 sister-in-laws all in such a short time. I feel broken. Empty. They were my best friends. Why??? 😭 I keep telling myself there's a reason. This too shall make you stronger!!?? Hug everyone you know when you see them. Then the circle of life. New babies come around!!!!😊👣❤

37 years ago Aug 16th we lost our 3 year old Matthew in a drowning accident. He would have been 40 years old July 21st. Even though it has been so long, my precious little boy is forever in my heart, never forgotten. It took me a very long time, but I can be thankful that he will never have to deal with this evil world we live in. I can say absolutely that God's grace is sufficient and He can and will mend our broken hearts when we let Him.

Lost my mom when I was 9 and now my stepmom is on hospice w cancer. You never know what life will bring you.

I lost my daughter and it is a loss like no other. You learn to be able to live but the pain remains. Good people die and it doesn’t seem to be a reason. God helps you tolerate the loss. 🙏🙏
You don’t get “over” any loss, you do ho on with your life as best as you can. That’s different for everyone and it changes as life changes. I need to get that book. My boss lost one of her grown sons unexpectedly two years ago and just this week, lost a second grown son unexpectedly. Please pray for Deb.

I cried so much reading Grangers book,a man among men. God has shown his light on the family.
After having lost two children to drugs,. I say to others , my heart aches for for your pain. Every situation is different and to say I know your pain my not true. God's love is what gets you through. Love to all!
