Haha, my mouth was watering as you were eating your persimmons! Go to any Asian market and you can find dried persimmons which are dense and fruity, but now that you have your own tree, highly recommend try drying them and eat throughout the year!

What’s up my brother?! I saw one of those varieties of persimmon trees when I bought my fuyu and I passed on it because I’d never heard of them. My fuyu should give me fruit next season but now I’m wishing that I bought the other one also. It looked delicious 😋 fam! Thanks for sharing.

The fuyu type can be eaten hard or soft. So you can wait till it is very ripe to get it taste like the hachiyas.

The American Persimmons are good to Zones 5 however the Asian Hachiya will not have time to ripen it’s fruits, Tell Jordan, the Bull and Dr. Ricci, said hello

I just purchased a persimmon for the first time at my local grocery market. The texture was semi soft. Clearly not ripe enough as I learned after watching this video😂. I took my first bite and it was like shoving a bunch of unripe bananas in yours mouth and that was just from me taking a tiny bite. I knew something wasn’t right😂. But I does have a sweet taste and I can’t wait to eat it!

That is the saijo variety, I had my first crop this year. Just bought the tree this year with flowers on it. Also just bought a Giombo and a Fuyu, I've had a Hychiya bearing for a few years now. The fuyu is not an astringent variety so you can eat them before they get this soft. Check out this other tasting video.

They were never ready for me until the tree's leaves fell and the fruit fell to the ground. Waiting on the counter top takes weeks. They have to be mushy soft like they seem rotten.
