The nightlife is so much fun in Korea, really miss that and the street food. I don’t know if they still do this but when I was there back in 1999-2000, you could find themed bars-everything from country theme where everyone wore cowboy outfits including hat and boots and were line dancing to American country music, which was hilarious, to German themed and so on. I was born in Korea, family immigrated to the states in ‘74 so I love seeing vlogs like yours where others can see what modern Korea is like today. Cheers!
That's so funny! Especially since we're from Tennessee. We didn't see anything like that, though. Thanks so much for watching our videos and for taking the time to comment.
Korea is strictly prohibited from selling alcohol to minors in bars.Usually, Koreans look much younger than Westerners. So from a Western point of view, all Koreans in Euljiro may look like high school students or college students. Almost all Koreans are office workers from nearby companies and college students.
That makes sense! We weren't sure the drinking age. And as far as not knowing how old they were, I think we'd feel the same in a Western place...we're just out of touch! :)
The thing I love about Seoul is there are so many good restaurants, cafes, bars everywhere. Not just Korean food, I walked down a random street and had some of the best margherita pizza I’ve ever had even better than Brooklyn and Naples. Another random place and the best pasta I ever had. Just random places walking down a busy street. No need for a yelp in Korea. I also miss the Hanwoo galbi, I need to go back soon.
There are many companies around the place you visited, so in the evening, many office workers usually visit. Most of the people who drink there are office workers around them. I used to work around there
That's really cool...and probably why it has such a nice, welcoming vibe. We've not been anywhere like it. Such a unique area. Thanks for watching and commenting.

10:19 The Seoul District Court is a struggle against citizens' opposition to the order and enforcement of the forced removal of Eulji OB BEAR, located in Nogari Alley, Eulji-ro. The protest was caused by the judgment of the court and the demands of the citizens, but since it was a bar alley, the protest was interesting while drinking and dancing
Pete’s BTS rendition was pretty spot on. And he made 2 good points! And when he said ‘you do you’ when you asked if buying mask straps was weird it was so cute and funny. And you guys looked so chill and enjoying of your night out. And I feel like Hays is having full on interesting conversations. That’s my rambling comment.
You're SO observant, hehe! I love rambling comments! They're the best. Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment like that. :)
It's normally an area where people in the 40s-50s go there after work to have a drink of beer but nowadays younger generations enjoy the culture too. People are prob in mid-20s to 40s from what I'm seeing in the video. You should def check out Hongdae at night for young vibes and Itaewon for cool bars and clubs. You guys are very good with chopsticks btw.
Thanks so much for watching, commenting, and complimenting our chopstick skills, haha. We spent our last few days in Seoul in Hongdae, but didn't go out at night (we had Hays.) Still, it was a cool neighborhood to see for sure!
We really, really want to come back and go there. We’ve actually reached out to a few places to see if anyone is interested in partnering for a video. 🤔 🤔 Let’s see… 🤞
@@StephandPete I hope you guys can get to go! If you are around Seoul, try to visit Han River and order Korean chicken with beer and try convenient store ramen too! There are lots of people in Han River during afternoon time and night!
Hehe, we lucked out with this neighborhood (it was close to where we stayed, so we noticed it one evening with Hays and vowed to come back.) We didn't see much else past sunset though, unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
very glad to see that you guys are enjoying the trip. Seong-su-dong was where I was born, haven't been there ever since, great to see the area on your video as well.
Wow.. another great video. This was a great father's day video, not to mention we have joined you in Vietnam for your next leg). Pretty sure we are going to get some olive clothes so the whole family can be dressed the same. You get better and better (even when you are out on the town). So glad you gave Pete a couple of thumbs up in this one. I also think that the babysitter should have done some video scenes, so we could see what Hays was doing while you were partying. love
Your vlogs and video are the most sincere I've ever seen on TH-cam. You straightforwardly say you dont like what you are eating and no fear of going through little stobe light doors (lol something I would never do and Im a guy) just very raw which is refreshing from all the other youtubers, where I feel like they sugercoat mNy things so they dont get criticized. You guys are my fav family on youtube for sure!! Hope you your promo gets extended for another year + so I can continue this enjoyment 10 - 30 minutes of joy per video!
Wow wow wow that's too kind! We're just trying to document our travels so that Hays can watch them one day, and because we love watching TH-cam, we figured maybe others would enjoy our videos as well (that's why we chose this platform.) It means the world that you'd give us a compliment like that! I'll relay your desire for us to continue to the team at Airbnb, lol. 😆
Most of those people would be in their 20s, college students and office workers. You won't really see high schoolers drinking out in the open like that in Korea. The minimum age to purchase alcohol is 19 in Korea.
That makes sense! I don't even know why we said that...obviously everyone was drinking so of course they are older. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks for the videos! Our Boston based family (kids 1, 3, and 5) was torn between traveling to Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Seoul. You're videos solidified Seoul as a destination and we booked our trip! We're watching all your videos to get ready. How did you come across baby sitters? I saw you had your parents to help in the second trip, but was there a service you used, a specific sitter you would know of or a web site you would recommend? Thanks again!!
This is such a lovely comment! You'll have a great time in Seoul (though you can't go wrong with any of those choices!) As for babysitters-- in Seoul we found someone on a Facebook group, which I don't totally recommend. We've not had issues, but it's super nerve wracking. In Japan there was a great service...I wish it existed everywhere!

The protest was caused by the judgment of the court and the demands of the citizens, but since it was a bar alley, the protest was interesting while drinking and dancing
Ah! Thanks so much for shedding light on this protest. We were really curious! I've never seen a protest with drinking and dancing like that.
So interesting contents! I really enjoy your joyful travel in Seoul. Gook luck!
Thanks so much for watching!
You have to visit Jeju Island! It is a MUST visit place in Korea!!
You guys know cool places in Seoul even more than me! I hope you have great time for the rest of time in Korea!
Hehe, we lucked out with this neighborhood (it was close to where we stayed, so we noticed it one evening with Hays and vowed to come back.) We didn't see much else past sunset though, unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
look so happy 😆👍🏻🖤
We have so many reasons to be happy! We're so grateful. Thanks for following our adventures.
very glad to see that you guys are enjoying the trip. Seong-su-dong was where I was born, haven't been there ever since, great to see the area on your video as well.
It’s very cool now!! Thank you for watching.
Congratulations to 10,000 subscribers. Your baby is so cute
Thank you! All thanks to our subscribers enjoying our travels. We’re so appreciative. 🙏
Very organic display of your experiences : )
That’s exactly what we’re trying to do so thanks for saying that!
영상이 너무 좋아요! 구독하고 가요!
Aw, thank you for saying that and for subscribing!
So many cool speakeasys there.
Yes! It would have been fun to have more evenings to explore. Thanks for watching.
Wow.. another great video. This was a great father's day video, not to mention we have joined you in Vietnam for your next leg). Pretty sure we are going to get some olive clothes so the whole family can be dressed the same. You get better and better (even when you are out on the town). So glad you gave Pete a couple of thumbs up in this one. I also think that the babysitter should have done some video scenes, so we could see what Hays was doing while you were partying. love
what do you bet he was playing cars
@@StephandPete Go out at night when we visit you! We love being with Hays and seeing what you get up to without him.
@@EllenHays deal.
@@StephandPete , not going to take that bet :)
That's the hippiest street in seoul nowadays! Hope you guys have great time 😎
We had an awesome evening! 😊
헝상 유쾌하게 투어하는 모습이 보기좋네요.
Thanks for watching! ♥️
I'm glad that you were able to experience seoul's nightlife, even for a short time.
Us, too! One of our most memorable evenings this year, for sure!
@@StephandPete Thank you for the reply! It really answered a lot of questions for my wife and I. We will be binge watching your channel when the kids are finally asleep in the evenings and taking a lot of notes from your videos for the next month or so. Of course we will be staying at an Airbnb in Seoul as well :). We already found an amazing place in Mapo-gu and are super stoked. If you ever decide to visit the Boston area please feel free to reach out for our contact info, our family would love to show you all around!
I live in Seoul. but I`ve never been to Euljiro in the night. As you said, looks very hip.
it`s a good information for me. Thanks .
next time i`ll try to go to Euljiro in the night. ^^
You should check it out! I'm happy we could inspire you to go experience it. It's a really unique place. Thanks for watching!
loved Pete's dance to Butter HAHA
Ha! You're the first to say this. 😂
Hi. I am Korean. Looks like they are age of 20 to 30. And its called Wang Man Du, which means Big Dumpling.
that makes sense! They were HUGE! Thanks for commenting!
you gave us the inspiration of this morning. vigorous!!
So glad you enjoyed! We appreciate you following along and always seeing you in the comments. 😊
아이럽코리아!❤
Thanks for watching!!!
Teleporting places is fun! Mom and dad.All the memories with my son are beautiful !
Hehe you should keep watching to see my parents visit-- he really has no idea that it's unusual for grandparents to pop up in random countries across the world every several months. :) They're with us in Vietnam now, but really wishing they had come to Korea after watching these videos!
아이에게 행복한 추억이 될수 있는 여행 이네여 영상 잘봤습니다 ^^
Thanks so much for watching! 💜
Your chopstick skill is wonderful & fantastic!!
Hehe thanks! We get complimented on them a lot which is so funny to us. But I’ll take it! 😌
No high schoolers in Euljiro, they’re in their 20s-30s!
Still younger than us (36) probably, but hopefully we weren't too out of place. :)
hope you make good memories in Korea.and baby is so lovely🥰🥰😁😁
Thank you!! We have the best memories from Seoul.
제주도 한번 가보시길 바랍니다 특히 한라산 등산도 한번 해보시고요~
We’d love to come back and visit!
좋아요.^ㅎㅎ^😀😀
We appreciate you watching!!
즐거운 여행하세요
안전하긴 하지만 그래도 조심하면서 즐기세요
행복해 보이네요
Thanks so much for watching. ♥️
행복해 보여요~
We are very happy and very grateful! ♥️
???: 오늘도 안전하게 돌아갈 수 있을까?
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to Korea. bon voyage.
Thanks for following along!
아이데리고 해외여행 쉽지 않은데~ㅋ
고생하셨습니다~👍🏻
담엔 한강요트와 낚시와 캠핑도 즐겨보세요~
These are nice suggestions-- and we're coming back next week to see more of Korea so we will consider them! Appreciate you watching!
Hahaha too funny! I like that theory a lot! 🍻 ☕️ 🤫
Lovely family~
Enjoy your korea trip~
Thank you for following along! 💜
Try gangnam district in seoul. Expensive luxury high end.
Its like hollywood California. or jeju island . Nice beaches
Sounds a bit fancy for us, hehe! We'll add those to our list for next time. Thanks for watching.
@@StephandPete haha not everything is high end. Its like an entertainment district there.
Or itaewon district, Lot of foreigners and Americans tourist there with good restaurants and food dining. A lot of foreigners who comes to korea to make a living goes there often too. Lots of foreigners all over the world speaks korean normally there too
This seems to be a very nice place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed this clip.
Glad you enjoyed it! We appreciate you watching!
