Back when the movie came out every band was denying it was based on them. Now every band of that era claims it was directly based on them.
Black Sabbath was definitely one of the bands that were imitated. Geezer Butler gave a recent interview with Eddie Trunk where he described a Stone Hedge stage prop that was built for a tour but the manufacturer/artist thought they wanted it in meters when they had meant feet. So they had a Stone Hedge set that was so big it wouldn't fit in any of the venues and they ultimately left it sitting on a freighter. I think it's even funnier now.

It’s interesting. Born Again was released in august 83, just about the same time Spinal Tap was filmed. It must have been just about the same week where Geezer Butler demanded Stone Henge as a stage prop - “In natural size” - to when Spinal Tap was filming their Stone Henge in feet or inches confusion!
Btw, Sabbath’s Stone Henge ended being in two third of natural size - and still useless in 98% of the concerts.

@@sirchromiumdowns2015 I've heard this story a few times over the years and I've always wished that someone would produce a photo of that thing. I wish I could've seen the look on the band's faces when they saw the stage prop that was literally three times the size it should've been.

Last year I saw Saxon live in Michigan and it was a great show. Biff was a hell of a performer, rocking harder and louder than even the younger bands at the concert. Byford and Saxon forever. 🤘🤘

Man Sharon worked Ozzy over right from the start ..
Sharon paid her father off for the remainder of Ozzy's contract so she had what amounted to at the time a sizable investment. I'd say she made her money back.

@@RolandDeschain1 Ozzy has had lots of plastic surgery, all the entertainers and celebrities, models, anchor men and women go for it. A lot of them are closet satanists too.
Think how differently a lot of great musicians' careers might have turned out if Ozzy and Ronnie James Dio ever had the balls to stand up to their gawdawful wives. What a couple of gutless simps they turned out to be.

A doc on journalists they’d have a blast making Eddie Trunk a human piñata lol ! And always nice to hear snippets about my favorite musician Randy Rhoads .
It's a weird profession. I understand that they do a lot of promoting, sometimes guys like Trunk really do help unknown bands get recognition - and that's important. But it's kind of strange to me when people (Trunk in particular) try to be famous stars and demand respect just for basically hanging out with people who actually create and do all the hard work.
It's sort of like he's just the world's ugliest groupie. :D

Lee Kerslake & Bob Daisley did the Europe tour of Blizzard. Tommy & Rudy took over when Blizzard hit the US.
"Smell the Glove" was definitely their best album.
Anybody that walked out on Spinal Tap needed to get a sense of humor, and probably, some of the scenes hit a little too close to home.

I have the 3 Spinal Tap CDs. They had a lot of fun well composed songs.
They have 2 movies. Good hired studio musicians helped too.
What I call the trilogy is TIST + Return of Tap + ST: Where Are They Now & the DiBergi look back that's on one of the DVDs.
They already did, it's called Elvis Costello.
Would love to know who the clowns were who were offended or walked out of ST, the movie is fantastic! Name names!

When you see Michael McKean in interviews now he REALLY comes off as being even more arrogant and stuck-up than the character he played in Spinal Tap. It's downright bizarre. If that's just an act he's putting on, he's a better actor than I ever realized.
